Jason D'Angelo

Jason D'Angelo [Gia D'Angelo] signed an open letter in April 2024 that spread hatred of Israel. The letter claimed Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists was a “genocidal campaign.”

The profilee's activism occurred during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.

The April 26, 2024 letter Jason D'Angelo signed was in support of the anti-Israel encampment at The George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C., where students and outside activists reportedly called for Israel’s destruction. Local media said that 33 protesters were arrested, at least six of whom were GW students. Seven GW students were suspended.

Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed their support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.

The GW encampment was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of June 2026, Jason D'Angelo was listed as an instructor in the American University Experience (AUx), a full-year course required of all freshmen at American University (AU). Themes covered in AUx include "freedom of expression...exploring and expressing identities...[and] diversity, bias, and privilege." According to one former AUx student, the second semester of the course focused on "anti-racism, oppression and power."

As of the same date, Jason D'Angelo was also listed as an academic advisor in AU's College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). AU is located in Washington, D.C.
