TruNews
Overview
The TruNews website was founded in 1998 by Rick Wiles [Richard D. Wiles], who has been the host of its podcast since the site's inception. The website disseminates anti-Semitism and conspiracy theories, promotes anti-LGBT messaging and spreads bigotry against minorities in its podcast and news articles.
As of June 2020, Wiles’s LinkedIn page listed him was the “President & CEO” at Flowing Streams Church in Vero Beach, Florida, from “Sep 1999 — Present,” where he reportedly served as the Pastor of the community.
The TruNews podcast is Wiles’s principal vehicle for promoting [00:21:29] anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist [00:59:07] and racist [00:01:02] conspiracy theories. TruNews has also invoked [00:26:27] a theory known as “the Deadly Exchange,” pushed by the anti-Israel organization Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), alleging that Israel is behind police brutality in the United States.
As of June 2020, TruNews had over 126,000 Facebook followers and 64K Twitter followers.
