Zeinab Alghanem

Overview

Zeinab Alghanem spread hatred of Israel and was an officer of a group that justified the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, when terrorists murdered over 1,200 Israeli Jews, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

As of May 2024, Alghanem’s LinkedIn profile said she was studying for a master’s degree in public health at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (UM-Ann Arbor), slated to graduate in May 2026.

As of the same date, Alghanem’s LinkedIn said she graduated from Wayne State University (WSU) with a bachelor’s degree in public health in December 2023.

However, as of March 2024, Alghanem was listed on the WSU website as a member of the Justice, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion project (JEDI) of the WSU Student Senate.

JEDI listed Window Magazine as one of its “current initiatives,” and Alghanem used [slide 3] the magazine’s section called “The Falastin Post” to promote hatred of Israel. Window Magazine is closely tied with the campus Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter (SJP WSU).

As of September 2023, Alghanem served on the board of Make HERstory WSU for the 2023-2024 academic year. In July 2023, she used the group’s Instagram account to spread hatred of Israel and the group justified Hamas terrorism in October 2023.

As of May 2024, Alghanem’s LinkedIn also said she had been a research fellow at the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) in Washington, D.C., since October 2021.

As of the same date, Alghanem’s LinkedIn said she was located in Dearborn, Michigan.

Hatred of Israel & Justifying Hamas Terrorism

On July 16, 2023, Alghanem wrote an anti-Israel article published on Instagram by Make HERstory WSU. The article’s cover image said [slide 1] “say no to Zionism and racism,” while the article accused [slide 2] Israel of “colonialism.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is by claiming that Jews have no connection to the Land of Israel.

On October 11, 2023, four days after Hamas murdered 1,200 Israeli Jews and while Alghanem was on the Make HerStory WSU board, the group posted [slide 5] an Instagram graphic that claimed: “the root cause of violence in Israel and Palestine is Israel’s decades-long violence and oppression against Palestinians.”

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation. Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, over 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.

A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

On February 5, 2024, Alghanem was listed [slide 3] as a co-author of an article in The Falastin Post, which was released during Israel’s war against Hamas.

Alghanem and her co-authors accused [slide 2] Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide.”

One of the article’s graphics said [slide 3]: “NO PEACE WITHOUT JUSTICE / NO JUSTICE WITHOUT RETURN.”

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

One of the other graphics in Alghanem’s article showed [slide 3] Stokely Carmichael with a caption that said: “In order for non-violence to work, your opponent must have a conscience.”

Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture) was a black militant leader known for coining the phrase: “The only good Zionist is a dead Zionist.” Carmichael spread [p. 27] various anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish control of government and media on university campuses and elsewhere.
