Zainab Chaudry

Zainab Chaudry is a Maryland hate crime committee member who expressed support for Hamas terrorism and denied Hamas atrocities in October 2023. She also spread antisemitism and hatred of Israel during its war against Hamas that same month.

Chaudry’s remarks occurred following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.

The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

As of December 2023, Chaudry’s bio on the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) website said she was the “Spokeswoman and Maryland Director” for CAIR.

Chaudry is also a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In August 2023, Chaudry was appointed by Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown to serve on the Maryland Commission on Hate Crime Response and Prevention, which was created in June 2023. Chaudry was suspended in November 2023 for her pro-Hamas, antisemitic and anti-Israel posts during Israel’s war against Hamas. However, in December 2023, Brown reinstated her to the commission.

As of December 2023, Chaudry’s bio on the CAIR website said she graduated from the Maryland Public Policy Conflict Resolution Fellows Program at the University of Maryland Carey School Of Law (Maryland Carey Law).

As of the same date, Chaudry’s website said she has served on the Maryland State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, an agency charged with “advising the President and Congress on civil rights matters.” Her website also said she was a “Fellow” at the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute (AMCLI).

Also as of December 2023, Chaudry’s website said she was a “civil & human rights activist/interfaith advocate/blogger.”
