Yousef Salaymeh
Overview
Yousef Salaymeh [Yousef Salemeh] has called for the murder of Jews and expressed support for Hamas and terrorism. He has also spread anti-Semitism and incitement, promoted anti-Israel conspiracy theories and called for the destruction of Israel.
Salaymeh has also spread hatred of Israel and Zionists and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Salaymeh’s social media posts took place during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war, called called “Swords of Iron,” after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings. The atrocities were executed on October 7, 2023, and left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
Hamas is a designated terrorist organization founded in 1987 that is dedicated to destroying Israel and killing Jews. Since 2001, Hamas has launched thousands of rockets at Israel and on October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 hostages, including children and the elderly.
As of August 2019, Salaymeh indicated on his Twitter and Instagram that he was a student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.
Calling for the Murder of Jews
On February 15, 2025, a user on X posted a series of screenshots of Salaymeh’s since-deleted social media posts, including one on Instagram that featured a photo of a handgun with text over it that read: “i love a good fight / khaybar khaybar ya yahood
.” Khaybar Khaybar, ya yahud, Jaish Muhammad, soufa ya'oud [Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning]” is a chant recalling the early seventh-century Battle of Khaybar. At Khaybar, Muhammad and his followers massacred the Jews of that town and enslaved the surviving women as “wives.” The chant is often heard at anti-Israel rallies in the United States.
On February 19, 2025, a user on X posted a screenshot of Salaymeh’s post from his since-suspended account on X that read: “One more to go. Finish the job.
.” The post included a photo of the Bibas family, with red crosses drawn over the faces of three out of four family members murdered by Hamas terrorists.Shiri Bibas and her two young children, Kfir and Ariel, were kidnapped from the safe room of their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, and taken hostage to Gaza by armed terrorists. After more than 500 days in captivity, their dead bodies were returned to Israel in exchange for 602 Palestinian terrorists held in Israeli prisons.
The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It first appeared in propaganda videos produced by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, during its terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The symbol was used by Hamas to signify one of their Israeli targets.
In the same thread, another user on X posted more screenshots of Salaymeh’s posts from his since-suspended account on X that read: “I don’t give a f**k about the two Israeli ‘babies’. Thousands of Palestinian children are dead but we should care about two ugly gingers? No.” Salaymeh also posted: “...I would’ve murked [murdered] them on sight.”
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.

Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

On January 7, 2017, Salaymeh tweeted: “Some movie where a Jew got exchanged truly has made me a more accepting person,” and then added: “Dw [Don’t worry] @HamasInfoEn I still believe in udrub udrub tel aviv bas msh kul l yahood [strike strikeTel Aviv but not all the Jews] :/”
On January 9, 2017, Salaymeh tweeted: “@HamasInfoEn” in response to a tweet that asked: “27) @ your twitter crush!”
On February 25, 2017, Salaymeh tweeted: “our kids are gonna be such little Hamas nationalists.”
On August 17, 2017, Salaymeh tweeted: “We're Hamas Christians. It's 3adi [normal].”
On May 13, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “THREAD: Why I’m anti-Zionist, why I don’t condemn Hamas, why I don’t believe in peace for Israelis and why I never take back the things I have said in the past. Please listen and have an open mind. https://twitter.com/AbuMatcha/status/1260370080291909632.”
That same day, Salyameh tweeted: “I want to emphasize my hatred for Israel. I want to emphasize that this strengthens the love for my people, and I want to emphasize that Hamas will continue to fight back and burn Tel Aviv to the ground. Thank you for reading. F*ck Isr*el.

On February 6, 2017, Salaymeh tweeted: “For every tear that falls, the stronger our resistance will get. My heart breaks for you Gaza #GazaUnderAttack.

”On May 6, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “Palestinian women are among the bravest in the world. An inspiration for humanity.” He included several photos, including one featuring Palestinian women holding AK-47’s.
On May 12, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “‘An Isr*eli soldier was killed today.’” Salaymeh included a video of a woman laughing.
Salaymeh’s tweet referred to Israeli soldier Amit Ben Yigal who was killed after an arrest raid near Jenin, when a Palestinian dropped a large stone from a roof onto Ben Yigal’’s head.
On that same day, Salaymeh tweeted: “‘LMFAOOOOOO she’s crying cause her boyfriend can no longer kill Palestinians,” and included an image of Ben Yigal's girlfriend crying.
Salaymeh added in the same thread: “To all the Zionists flooding my mentions:
I have zero sympathy for dead Isr*eli soldiers. I DON’T CARE.”
On May 13, 2020,Salaymeh tweeted: “I made a comment about throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers. This comment was justified, and soldiers have actually died from this form of violence as seen today. Glorious.”
On May 20, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “If you want to get political, let’s face the facts. It’s been ‘shia’ governments and groups who have funded the Palestinian resistance. Iran has been the ONLY country to provide weapons every year to ALL Palestinian resistance groups from Fatah to Hamas.”
The U.S. has designated the government of Iran as a “State Sponsor of Terrorism” since 1984. Iran is partnered with Hezbollah in Lebanon and has also historically provided weapons, training, and funding to Hamas, Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
On May 21, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “Hundreds of Isr*eli websites have just been hacked by Iran, including the official websites of settlements around my town.”
On May 21, 2020, Iranian hackers reportedly disruptedthousands of websites in Israel with the message “The countdown of Israel destruction has begun long ago and been ready for a big surprise,” along with images of a destroyed Tel Aviv.
On the same day, Salaymeh tweeted: “oh cyber resistance in 2020. Love to see it.”
In May 2020, Israel announced that it thwarted an Iranian cyber-attack targeting Israel’s water systems that would have cause mass “damage to the civilian population” in Israel.
On May 28, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “I’m bringing this back for a quick minute to remind you that IDF deaths aren’t important. Take them all out.”
Anti-Semitism

On February 23, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “EXTREMELY GRAPHIC: After killing Palestinians today, the Israeli army used a bulldozer to crush the bodies. The Nazis used this same method during the Holocaust, what is the difference? THIS IS GENOCIDE BEFORE OUR EYES.”
Incitement
On July 27, 2018, Salaymeh tweeted: “Israel is currently attacking Al AQSA. THIS IS TERRORIST ISRAEL. DEATH TO ISRAEL.”The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state.
On July 27, 2018, terrorists barricaded themselves in the Al Aqsa mosque and attacked Israeli police with fireworks and stones, injuring four officers. Following the attack, Israeli police entered the mosque and arrested 24 suspects, shutting the mosque for four hours.
On that same day,Salaymeh tweeted: “IDF IS FORCIBLY SMASHING THE DOORS OF THE DOME OF THE ROCK. ISRAEL IS A TERRORIST STATE.”
On January 29, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: ISRAELI ARMY HAS CLOSED AL AQSA’S GATES. ALL gates to the old city as well. Jerusalem is under lockdown.”
That day, two Palestinian terrorists reportedly attempted to stab an Israeli police officer on the Temple Mount, before they were arrested. The Israeli police closedthe doors to the mosque for one hour following the terror attempt.
On that same day, Salaymeh tweeted: “Nobody is being allowed to enter or exit the old city of Jerusalem. IDF forces are everywhere. Al-Aqsa remains shut down.”
Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories
On June 2, 2020, Salaymeh condemned a tweet featuring photos of Israelis demonstrating in memory of George Floyd and in solidarity with Black Lives Matter (BLM). Salaymeh tweeted: “STOP applauding Isr*elis for doing the bare minimum. Isr*el kills Black Palestinians for fun in the south. They use them as targets.”
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.Following Floyd’s death, demonstrations and protests were held in over 400 American cities, as well as internationally.
On March 23, 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, Salaymeh tweeted: “The media is not reporting this but Israel is infecting Palestinian prisoners with the virus. Palestinian children are in cages. Israel not allowing medical aid to prisons.”
On January 29, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “Iconic moment when Hugo Chavez, then president of Venezuela, cursed Israel on national TV. He was murdered by the U.S. and Israel as a result.
.” On January 24, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “Palestinian child has been kidnapped in East Jerusalem. Huge search ongoing right now. Israeli settlers are suspected, if so this will set off a huge reaction. May he be found safe inshallah.”
On that day, 8-year-old Qais Abd Abu Ramileh reportedly fell into a rain-filled pit near his home in Beit Hanina and drowned.
On January 25, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “neve yaakov is a notorious illegal settlement in east Jerusalem. Suspected he may be held there right now. Israeli police blocking access.”
On the same day, Salaymeh added in the same thread: “Update: he has been found in critical condition in a ditch. This does not look like an accident. May Allah grant him full health. Please pray for Qusai Abu Ramila.”
Calling for the Destruction of Israel
On June 6, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY AND THE CAKE MY SISTER GOT ME LMFAOOOO.” Salaymeh included a photo of the cake, with “Happy Birthday Death to Israel” written in icing, and an Israeli flag crossed out.
On the same day, Salymeh tweeted in the same thread: “rightfully so, I’m another year closer to the destruction of the occupation!”
On May 22, 2020, Salaymeh responded to a tweet: “Armed resistance is the only response to Israeli aggression,” tweeting: “imagine being for peaceful resistance
.”On May 13, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “I DON’T apologize to Israelis and I DON’T believe in a future where we can co-exist. Colonizers and their families must leave or face the consequences.
On June 8, 2019, Salaymeh tweeted: “How do Non-Palestinians tell Palestinians to accept a “two state solution”. It’s either ALL of Palestine or nothing.”
On that same day, Salaymeh added on the same twitter thread: “A two state solution just further legitimizes their so called ‘jewish democratic state’. We will never accept it.”
Hatred of Israel

Hatred of Zionists
On June 12, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “death to Zionism.”
That day, Salaymeh also tweeted: “Zionists sent a letter to my local police department that I’m ‘high risk’ and ‘going to commit terrorism’ very soon. One wrote that she’s ‘afraid for her life’.

On June 6, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted a GIF of people burning an Israeli flag and wrote: “To all the angry Zionists in my mentions mad over a cake, GET OFF OUR LAND.”
On May 22, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted: “Today is Jerusalem day or Quds day. It is a day in opposition to the Zionist day, Jerusalem will be free and belongs to the Palestinian people. Zionism will never succeed in erasing our heritage. #يوم_القدس #QudsDay.”
The Iranian government initiated International Quds Day in 1979, as an annual protest against Israel’s existence. The protest has historically been a platform for anti-Semitism.
On May 21, 2020, Salaymeh tweeted at Israeli political activist Yishai Fleisher: “Isr*el is weak. Your settlement is weak. I heard Europe wants you back, go home.”

BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
