Tammam Abdelghani
Overview
Tammam Abdelghani has endorsed violence, shown support for terrorists, spread hatred of Zionists and demonized Israelis.Abdelghani has also spread hatred of America and Israel, opposed dialogue with Zionists and was affiliated with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Houston (SJP UH).
As of April 2021, Abdelghani was listed as a member of the Psychology department at the University of Houston (UH). On January 25, 2021, Abdelghani tweeted that she was a “psych major.”
As of April 2021, Abdelghani used the handle “Levantinian_” and username “ت” on Twitter. She also used the username “tammam.x_” on Instagram.
Endorsing Violence
On June 26, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “I support violent Palestinian resistance.”On December 21, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Palestinians live under a violent military occupation that is nowhere near peaceful occupied people have every right to resist their occupier.” Her tweet included a tweet with a video showing Palestinians violently rioting at the Gaza border.
The violent riots during the “March of Return” continued into 2019 and included armed protesters using gunfire, penetrating Israeli territory, launching incendiary kites into Israel and throwing IEDs, hand grenades and Molotov cocktails. Some of the attacks were carried out by Hamas operatives.
On November 5, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Death to Israel till I die.”
On May 8, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted in response to another tweet condemning violence: “There’s a literal genocide being committed against Palestinians are they just supposed to sit down and be murdered bc ‘violence on both sides is wrong’ one is the occupier and the other occupied ma’am.”
On December 1, 2018, Abdelghani wrote: “Goals af [as f**k]” in response to a post on her CuriousCat page that said: “all i need in life is a cute pali girl that would hand me the khanjar [dagger] as i chokehold an IDF soldier xx <3.” The word “goals” is used in slang to describe something to aspire to.
On July 15, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “You’re in no position to be lecturing palestinians on how they choose to resist an illegal military occupation that affects their daily lives...”
Her tweet was in response to a tweet that said: “... I would support Palestine, but the way they use violence and such to try to support their cause I just can’t agree with.”
On June 7, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “Y’all have heavy artillery and cry about palestinians throwing rocks.” Her tweet was in response to another tweet by the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] about a Palestinian throwing a rock at a soldier’s head during an arrest.
Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence.
Support for Terrorists
Abdelghani retweeted an April 9, 2021 tweet of a photo of terrorist Leila Khaled, that said: “happy 77th birthday to the woman that defined what being a revolutionary palestinian woman means to all of us. forever indebted to u.”Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.
Abdelghani retweeted an April 8, 2021 tweet commemorating Ghassan Kanafani.
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
On June 23, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “Isr*eli troops kill Palestinian who was on his way to pick up his sister from the hair salon* I’m livid.” Her tweet referred to a report about a Palestinian who was killed while carrying out a car ramming attack.
Ahmad Erekat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat; Ahmed Erakat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured. The incident was captured on video.
On the same date, Abdelghani tweeted: “Zionists are insufferable human beings I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen them justify the murder of Palestinians.” Her tweet referred to another tweet about Erakat that said: “Good advice for the Palestinians, Next time don't try makea ramming attack on your way to your sister's wedding.”
On May 29, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “non Palestinians who claim to support Palestine but jump to criticize Hamas before is*ael we all see you.”
Spreading Hatred of Zionists
On June 27, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “Zionists will never not be violent regardless of whether Palestinians are violent or non-violent.”On March 18, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “Zionists don’t have brain cells
”On February 10, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “Stop hyping [Israeli-American Jewish actress] Natalie Portman for saying [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin] netanyahus bad she’s still a liberal Zionist.”
On January 22, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “Lebanese and syrian Zionists can choke xx.”
On January 2, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “I wanna attack Zionists but the vast majority have me blocked
.”On December 21, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Bullying Zionists IS a personality trait.”
On the same date, she tweeted: “I’ve had to block so many Zi*nists today these rats keep multiplying.”
On May 27, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Block me you zionist rat @MenaMassoud.” Her tweet was addressed to the actor Mena Massoud, who had said in an interview that he had visited Israel and would want to visit again.
On May 19, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “ALL Zionists are ugly.”
On April 2, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Bullying Zionists IS a personality trait.”
On March 26, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Zionists are always ugly as s**t that can’t be a coincidence.”
On March 25, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted referring to an Israeli woman on Twitter: “... she supports the genocide of my people so the b**ch is automatically ugly…”
In the same thread, Abdelghani tweeted: “She’s not a girl she’s a Zionist there’s a difference.”
On December 28, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “I hope all Zionists choke on their next meal.”
On October 31, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “I think bullying zionists is acceptable but that’s just me.”
On June 19, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “Goodnight to everybody except people who support Israel y’all can choke.”
Demonizing Israelis
On March 17, 2021, Abdelghani tweeted: “omg *gasps* you’re middle eastern? So being middle eastern means you have the right to ethnically cleanse and genocide Palestinians in order to establish a state for Jews only?”On June 28, 2020, Andelghani tweeted: “When are people gonna stop pretending the vast majority of isr*elis aren’t racist.”
On June 2, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “They ignore the genocide happening to indigenous Palestinians on the very land they’re illegally settling on oh the hypocrisy…” Her tweet referred to a tweet about Israelis in Tel Aviv showing solidarity with Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests in the U.S. after the killing of George Floyd.
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On January 25, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted claiming that: “... Israeli settlers always kidnap Palestinian children and they’re never heard from again.”
On November 5, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “All Israelis know how to do is terrorize Palestinians and claim Palestinian culture as their own.”
On March 24, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted about an Israeli on Twitter: “You’re ugly inside and out habibti for supporting the genocide of Palestinians.”
On February 18, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “palestinian kids just get shot and killed by Israeli soldiers on their way to school that's all.”
Hatred of America
On August 27, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “i just saw God bless am*rica and isr*el on a shop in my town I hate it here.”On November 21, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “Nah f**k America our home countries wouldn’t be in the s**ty state they are now if it wasn’t for America.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet that said: “... I wouldn’t say f**k America if I’m living on its soil… America has done us all a 1000 times better than our native countries…”
On November 18, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “The US has always been complicit in Palestinian genocide and ethnic cleansing now it’s all out in the open.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet about the U.S. saying that Israeli settlements don’t violate international law.

Hatred of Israel
Abdelghani retweeted a January 6, 2021 tweet that said: “Actually Israel’s flag is something to be burned.”On September 28, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “my professor did not just say the word isr*el.”
On August 13, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “This isn’t surprising unfortunately f*ck UAE and isr*el.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet that said:“The UAE and Israel today write history

.”On August 13, 2020, the United States, Israel and the UAE agreed to a joint statement referred to as the “Abraham Accords” in which the UAE consented to formally normalize its relationship with Israel.
On February 1, 2020, Abdelghani tweeted: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free

”“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
On the same date, Abdelghani tweeted: “One state called Palestine w the right of return for Palestinian refugees from 48 as well as ALL Palestinians.”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.
On December 18, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “If you’re friendly w Zionists/believe is*ael has a right to exist pls block me xx”
On November 19, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “... Israel has been illegally occupying Palestinian land, ethnically cleansing and murdering Palestinians for 70+ years.”
On August 4, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Being neutral on Palestine isn’t any better than being pro-Israel that’s still being complicit in genocide and land theft gn.”
On June 18, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “Death to Israel.”
On March 14, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted: “‘Terror sites’ is another way to say Palestinian homes, schools, and hospitals.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet by the IDF that they were striking terror sites in Gaza, after two rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel.
During OPE, the IDF targeted sections of Gaza’s Al-Wafa hospital, which Hamas used as a command center.
On December 14, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted in response to an Israeli’s tweet: “your country was built on the murder and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians there’s only so many ways we can say it…”
On October 31, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “... Israel is built on the genocide and ethnic cleansing of MY people…”
On October 21, 2018, Abdelghani tweeted: “Death to Israel.”
Opposing Dialogue with Zionists

SJP Activism
On April 3, 2019, Abdelghani featured [00:00:23] in a Facebook video of SJP students disrupting an event that featured former Israeli soldiers.On August 7, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted in reference to Jonathan Elkhoury, an Israeli Lebanese Christian: “I could’ve sworn I saw this clown at UH with the Hillel Israeli Zionists.”
Abdelghani retweeted an April 5, 2021 tweet by SJP UH promoting an Israel Apartheid Week panel event.
On October 22, 2019, Abdelghani tweeted promoting an SJP UH event. The event flyer featured a cartoon by Carlos Latuff that depicted then-U.S. President Trump shaking hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel with barbed wire around the border and a sign that said: “WHITES ONLY.”
Carlos Latuff is a Brazilian political cartoonist who has equated Israel and America with Nazi Germany and promoted violence. In 2006, he won second prize at Iran’s “International Holocaust Cartoon Competition” for a cartoon that compared Israel’s security barrier to Nazi concentration camps.
