On April 16, 2020, USM reported that Beauti was the co-founder of the USM Honors College Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.
As of October 2022, Beauti’s LinkedIn said she was an Acute Care Technician at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, from October 2021 to July 2022.
On May 12, 2022, Beauti tweeted: “I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO MEDICAL SCHOOOLL!!!!!!!! IM GOING TO BE A DOCTOR OH MY GOD.” The same day, Beauti tweeted that she was “Looking at internal med/pediatrics, emergency med, or obgyn” as potential specialties in medical school.
As of May 2022, Beauti’s LinkedIn said she was a Peer Tutor at USM Trio Student Support Services from August 2018 to May 2021 and a Tutor at Hawkins Elementary School from August 2017 to April 2021.
As of May 2022, Beauti’s LinkedIn said she was President of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) chapter at USM (USM MSA) since August 2017.
In April 2020, Beauti received the David L. Boren Scholarship, “a national award that provides funding for rigorous language study in world regions critical to U.S. interest.” Beauti reportedly planned “to study Arabic at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.”
As of May 2022, Beauti used the handle “@butiliciouss” on Twitter. As of the same date, Beauti went by the username “sumar buti” and the handle “@sumarb” on Pinterest.

Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany
On June 7, 2021, Beauti tweeted: “Israel could be putting Palestinians in gas chambers and the world would still call it a conflict.”The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.
Beauti retweeted a May 31, 2021 tweet that read: “Saying Palestinians are the bad ones and Israel are just defending themselves is like saying Jews are the bad ones and nazis were just defending themselves”
In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Promoting Incitement
Beauti retweeted an April 15, 2022 tweet that read: “Every Ramadan in Palestine, Israeli forces storm the most sacred mosque for Muslims in the holiest month of the year. Every year, they shoot to maim. They have specifically targeted worshippers’ eyes recently. 13 Palestinians lost eyes last year to Israeli bullets.”Palestinians and anti-Israel activists have historically described visits by Jews to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as “incursions” during which Jews purportedly “storm” the Temple Mount and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Palestinians have also frequently used the mosque to stockpile stone slabs, fireworks and rocks, with which they attack Israeli security officers and non-Muslim visitors to the Temple Mount.
Beauti retweeted an April 15, 2022 tweet that included an image of an Associated Press News (AP) tweet, altered to read:“BREAKING: Israeli police violently attack Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a major holy site in Jerusalem, have wounded at least 20 Palestinians by physically attacking, beating and arresting them during Friday morning prayers.”
The original AP tweet read: “BREAKING: Clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a major holy site in Jerusalem, have wounded at least 20 Palestinians. It was not immediately clear what sparked the violence.”
Beauti retweeted a May 9, 2021 tweet that read: “TW [trigger warning] // bombing, shooting, attacks if you don't know what's happening rn [right now], pls listen up now in Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli occupation forces are attacking worshippers w/ coated bullets, tear gas & stun grenades. all during the holiest time of the year for Muslims.”
On May 7-10, 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa compound, following claims that Al-Aqsa Mosque was in danger. The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Al-Aqsa has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state.
On May 7, 2021, Beauti urged viewers on Twitter to participate in anti-Israel protests in Chicago, Los Angeles and Brooklyn, tweeting: “If you live near any of these areas, please go! #SaveSheikhJarrah #القدس_اقرب #FreePalestine”
In May 2021, calls to “save” Sheikh Jarrah, a Jerusalem neighborhood at the center of a property dispute, led to violence against Israelis and were one of the leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza into Israel that month.
Anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S. “more than doubled” during OGW and its aftermath, compared to the same time period in 2020, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
Hatred of Israel
On September 28, 2020, Beauti tweeted: “anyway, I’m burning an IDF [Israel Defence Forces] shirt soon, wanna join?”On May 8, 2021, Beauti tweeted: “Imagine someone walking into your house, sleep in your bed, eat your food, then claim the house as theirs...yeah that’s exactly what’s been happening to Palestinians since 1948 and the US is funding it.”
On the same day, Beauti tweeted: “Don’t forget that 3.8 billion dollars of our tax money every year is funding the Israeli occupation Not free healthcare or education for us but the murder, displacement, and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”
Beauti retweeted a May 11, 2021 tweet that read: “THIS IS A WAR CRIME. THE ZIONISTS ARE USING CHEMICAL WEAPONS AGAINST CIVILIANS.” Beauti alsoretweeted a tweet from the same day that read: “4AM ISR*EL IS USING WHITE PHOSPHORUS BOMBS IN GAZA ITS SMOKE BURNS PEOPLE”
The charge against Israel of using chemical weapons has been debunked on multiple occasions.
Beauti retweeted a May 11, 2021 tweet that read: “ISR*EL TARGETED A WHOLE RESIDENTIAL TOWER IN GAZA NOW THEY ARE TARGETING CIVILIANS KILLING CHILDREN AT A TIME WHERE PEOPLE ARE BREAKING THEIR FAST THEY ARE GETTING KILLED!!”
On May 11, 2021, Israel carried out a targeted bombing of a high-rise building in Gaza that was used as a base for Hamas operations. The Israeli military warned all of the building’s tenants to vacate the premises one hour prior to the attack.
On August 1, 2021, Beauti tweeted: “Billie eilish supports Israel
her new music sucks anyway.” Beauti also shared a video of Eilish “directly promoting her new album to them [Israel
” and tweeted: “she’s Giving them new music to listen to while murdering innocent Palestinians I guess.”On August 2, 2021, Beauti tweeted that Eilish’s video was “an ad promoting her music to a murderous apartheid. it’s tone deaf and selfish.”
Beauti retweeted a May 15, 2022 tweet that read: “Russia being banned from #Eurovision
for war crimes while Israel committed at least 3 war crimes on Eurovision day alone. Think about that.” The annual Eurovision Song Contest, an international competition, was held on May 10-14, 2022 in Turin, Italy. On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, prompting global outrage and accusations against Russian authorities and military personnel of war crimes.
Supporting BDS
As of May 2022, Beauti wrote on her Instagram bio: “Ways you can learn about and help the Palestinian cause” and linked to an online resource document titled: “Palestine Debrief: Educational Resources and Action Items.”The document displayed links promoting the BDS movement.
Beauti retweeted a July 19, 2021 BDS movement tweet that read: “Following years of #BDS campaigns @benandjerrys has announced it will end sales of its ice cream in Israel's illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian land. We warmly welcome their decision but call on Ben & Jerry's to end all operations in apartheid Israel. #BDSsuccess”
On July 19, 2021, ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s announced it would stop all product sales in “Occupied Palestinian Territory.” The BDS movement celebrated the decision, calling on the ice cream company to boycott the State of Israel in its entirety. However, company owner Unilever overrode the subsidiary’s decision after multiple US states decided to divest public funds from Unilever.

”BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
