Overview
Sherry Bender has spread anti-Semitism, justified terrorism against Israeli Jews, expressed support for terrorists and promoted hatred of Israel and America during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists in October 2023. Bender also spread hatred of Israelis and Israel before the Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.Bender is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of December 2023, Bender was a practicing physical therapist in the New York, New York area.
As of the same date, Bender, who also goes by Sherry Ellen Bender, was verified as a registered physical therapist in the State of New York, License Number 010706, issued September 14, 1989, and valid through September 30, 2026.
As of December 2023, Bender’s ZocDoc profile said that she was located in New York, New York.

Spreading Anti-Semitism
On February 5, 2023, Bender tweeted: “Our world is overshadowed by ZioNazi violence.”The term "Zio" is a common derogatory reference to Zionists, as well as an often-used anti-Semitic slur among white supremacists.
The assertion that Jews secretly control the Western governments through banking and finance is traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fabricated anti-Semitic text that portrays wealthy Jews as conspiring to take over the world. This anti-Semitic conspiracy theory has often employed the imagery from Nazi cartoons that depict Jews as octopuses encircling the globe.
Anti-Semites often spread the conspiracy theory that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by Israel with the support of the United States, claiming the attack was a “false flag” operation mounted to instigate war against Israel’s enemies.
On June 17, 2022, Bender tweeted: “The #chokehold is the Zionazi signature, and they love to teach it to Americans. . for an additional price.”
The accusation that Israeli law enforcement teaches American police brutal tactics during police exchange programs is used to demonize Israel. Participants in these programs have stated [00:02:14] that the training in Israel focuses [00:13:36] on public policy, counter-terrorism and leadership training in the form of lectures and discussions.
Justifying Terrorism against Israeli Jews
On April 11, 2023, Bender tweeted: “Stop Murderous Colonizing Zionism.” Her tweet was in response to another tweet showing the faces of three Israeli women killed four days earlier. The tweet she responded to said: “We Stand with Israel #DeeDay.”On April 7, 2023, British-Israeli sisters Maia and Rina Dee were killed by Palestinian terrorists in a shooting attack while the family was driving on a highway in Israel’s Jordan Valley. Their mother, Lucy, sustained critical injuries and died three days later. The terrorists who murdered the Dees were killed on May 4, 2023 when Israeli soldiers attempted to arrest them.
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is by claiming that Israeli Jews have no connection to the Land of Israel.
Also on the same day, Bender tweeted: “Zionist Israel wants you to FEEL terrible about settler_casualites; but expect the world to look the other way toward Zionist Colonization, Apartheid and genocide of the indigenous Palestinians.”
Support for Terrorists
On April 3, 2023, Bender tweeted: “Zionism is terrorism and it doesn't take a holiday.”Bender’s tweet reacted to a report of an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrest mission in Nablus where two Lions’ Den terrorists were killed.
The “Lions’ Den” [عرين الأسود]is an independent “armed group” with operatives hailing from various other Palestinian terrorist organizations. The group reportedly emerged from Nablus in August 2022. The Lions’ Den has claimed responsibility for the death of Israeli soldiers. They also targeted Israeli civilians in multiple terror attacks in October and November 2022.
On January 17, 2023, Bender tweeted: “40 Years of torture and captivity in the prison of the Occupying #Jewish_Nazis.”
Bender’s tweet referred to the news that a Palestinian terrorist who had kidnapped and murdered an Israeli soldier was released after completing his prison term.
On December 8, 2022, Bender tweeted: “I have been screaming at the computer scream for the last 14 years (since I found out and understood what was really happening). . . #PalestinianGenocide Everyday, the Zionist occupiers murder more indigenous, oppressed Palestinians.”
Bender’s tweet referred to an IDF raid against Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists in Jenin.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) is a terror group “whose objective is the destruction of the State of Israel and the establishment of a sovereign, Islamic Palestinian state.” PIJ is backed by Iran and has killed dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks.
On July, 24, 2022, Bender tweeted: “Zionist forces have always been and continue to be a terrorizing occupying colonial power in Palestine, deceitful, amoral, and shameless. .with nuclear weapons and the blind support of the USA.”
Bender’s tweet referred to an IDF arrest mission in Nablus, in which two terrorists were killed.
On May 16, 2018, after Hamas-led riots were stopped by the Israeli army, Bender tweeted: “60 protesters, including 8 children, shot dead by Israeli soldiers in #Gaza. Sanctions on South Africa helped free its black people - it's time for sanctions on Israel to free Palestinians…”
On May 16, 2018, a Hamas senior official, Salah al-Bardawil, stated that 50 out of 62 protesters killed during the May 14 Gaza border protest were Hamas operatives. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also claimed that three of its members were killed at the same protest.
Throughout 2018, Hamas organized and funded the “March of Return” riots where tens of thousands of Palestinians approached the Israel-Gaza border, attempting to breach Israel’s security fence. They sent explosive devices into Israel, shot firearms and threw projectiles at Israeli soldiers, necessitating the use of live fire in response. One Hamas leader declared [00:00:30]: “We will take down the border and we will tear out their hearts from their bodies.” The riots intended to highlight the “right of return,” a Palestinian demand long discredited as a way to destroy Israel.
Hatred of Israel and America during a Hamas War
On October 11, 2023, just four days after Hamas massacred 1,200 Israeli Jews and Israel retaliated, Bender tweeted: “From what I have seen, . . I am calling this a #FalseFlag, NOT a ‘surprise Hamas attack’, ... or Palestinians trying to take back their land.. No.. it’s a brutal genocidal massacre, and I believe history will prove I am right.”Hamas intentionally targeted youth centers and elementary schools to execute and kidnap children. They also took stimulant drugs to give added energy to murder and maim. Nazis also took drugs during World War II to fuel their anti-Semitic massacres.
On October 16, 2023, Bender tweeted: “This is Zionist
Israel.They may be best friends with the biggest bullies on Earth (US, EU), but they are #Murderers #BabyKillers. started out as colonialist murderers, & they have not stopped since 1948…”
The modern State of Israel was founded in 1948.
On October 17, 2023, Bender tweeted: “US doesn't want peace, squelching any voices calling for ‘de-escalation’, ‘calm’, ‘peace’. / Zionists want WWIII, and they want their ‘Greater Israel’,.. and US been funding and fighting for Zionist wars for the last 22 years.”
“Greater Israel” is a conspiracy theory which claims that Israel plans to expand its territory to encompass most of the Middle East and chunks of North Africa.
Also on October 17, 2023, Bender tweeted: “...Israel targeted the Baptist hospital. But it is Zionist MO to cause as much pain, harm and devastation as possible. They told people in north of Gaza to evacuate, then bombed them when they did.ZioNazis.”
On October 17, 2023, the terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fired rockets at Israel from Gaza, one of which misfired and fell on the parking lot of the al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital. Initial media reports blamed Israel. Following the incident, U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib immediately accused the Biden administration of funding Israel’s “genocide” of Palestinian people.
Hatred of Israelis and Israelbefore October 7, 2023
On April 7, 2023, Bender tweeted: “That's awful, sounds are scary; whose home did these Israeli settlers steal?”
Bender’s comment referenced a video showing Israeli civilians taking shelter at home one day earlier during a barrage of rockets terrorists fired from southern Lebanon. Three Israeli civilians were injured during the rocket attacks.
On January 16, 2023, Bender tweeted: “The 'Jewish state' steals everything.... EVERYTHING.”
On November 3, 2022, Bender tweeted: “Can we keep this trending until the U.S. stops sending our money to these colonizers? #IsraeliApartheid.”
On December 4, 2022, Bender tweeted: “Ridiculous! Israeli Zionists are the biggest Anti-Semites that ever walked the planet! pfft!!”
On May 13, 2022, Bender tweeted: “#Israel is a #terrorist enterprize.” Her tweet featured another tweet demonizing an Israeli missile strike on military targets in Syria.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
