Overview

Sarah Ottallah [Sarah Raied Ottallah] has spread anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel on Twitter.

Ottallah is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In 2016, Ottallah indicated on Twitter that she was affiliated with the Muslim American Society (MAS) - Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

In July 2017, Ottallahs’ Facebook account said that she worked as a “Dental Assistant” at Dr. Pedro Rodriguez DDS in Ohio and that she studied Dental Assisting at Ross Medical Education Center.

As of January 2020 Ottallah was licensed as a Dental Radiographer in Youngstown, OH since January 2015.

Anti-Semitism

On February 3, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “Ya5rabayt el yahood [Destroy the homes of the Jews].”

On the same day, Ottallah tweeted: “I'm telling ya'll. Chil il mashakil fil dunya ti7it ras el yahood. [All of the problems in the world are because of the Jews]”

Also on February 3, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “I blame the Jews. They were trouble since day uno.” On the same day, Ottallah followed up, tweeting: “Smh. The Jews don't even deserve our spit.”

On January 9, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “Ya5rabayt il ya7ood wa chil il 3alam ili ma37um! [Destroy the homes of the Jews, and all those that support them.]”

On January 1, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “El ya7ood 7ameer [the Jews are donkeys].”

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On February 7, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “Me when someone mentions the name Israel.” The tweet featured a photo of a woman about to vomit.

On January 25, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “‘@DieVerseCA: DEFINE......AN ISRAELI:’”

The tweet featured a photo of Israeli soldiers grieving at the funeral of Yonatan Hadassi on July 20, 2006. Hadassi was killed the previous day in a battle with Hezbollah terrorists on Israel’s border with Lebanon.

The photo Masood shared featured a caption mocking the grief of Hadassi’s mourners, that read: “And after I shot his mother he threw a rock at me.”

Support for BDS

On February 21, 2015, Ottallah tweeted: “BOYCOTT ISRAEL”

On the same day, Ottallah tweeted: “We will we will BOYCOTT ISRAEL.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
