Hatred of Zionists
On May 12, 2021, Jawad tweeted: “Rot in hell you Zionist pig.”Jawad’s tweet was responding to a tweet by Israeli actress Gal Gadot shared during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) in Gaza.
In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Gadot’s post said: “My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, Our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”
On May 30, 2020, Jawad tweeted about looting and vandalism that took place in Atlanta following protests connected to the death of George Floyd.
Jawad wrote: “I hope the looters got the rozinas place that’s on campus we don’t need their zionist cupcakes.”
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Following Floyd’s death, demonstrations and protests were held in over 400 American cities, as well as internationally. Many of the demonstrations devolved into riots, resulting in injury and deaths of civilians and police officers, as well as widespread destruction and looting of property.
Hatred of Israel
As of April 2023, Jawad’s Twitter cover photo featured an image of someone burning an Israeli flag with a subtitle that read: “Let us spit on this flag. Tfu [spit]. - Tfu.”On March 20, 2023, Jawad tweeted: “I see this girl with the Israeli flag tatted on her every time I come to the gym at night and it pisses me off every time.”
On August 16, 2019, Jawad was asked on Curious Cat: “Are you pro palestine?” to which she replied: “Yesss free Palestine w khara 3a [s**t on] Israel all day everyday.”
Anti-Israel Activism
On May 16, 2021, during OGW, Jawad tweeted: “Atlanta showed out today #FreePalastine #SaveSheikhJarrah
.”In May 2021, calls to “save” Sheikh Jarrah, a Jerusalem neighborhood at the center of a property dispute, led to violence against Israelis and were one of the leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza into Israel that month.
In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
Jawad’s tweet featured a video of anti-Israel activists at a protest chanting: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
The protest that day was organized by a coalition known as Demilitarize From Atlanta 2 Palestine (DAP). DAP is composed of “various community and legal organizations based in Atlanta, Georgia, which calls for the withdrawal of the Atlanta Police Department's training in Israel.”
The accusation that Israeli law enforcement teaches American police brutal tactics during police exchange programs is used to demonize Israel. Participants in these programshave stated [00:02:14] that the training in Israel focuses [00:13:36] on public policy, counter-terrorism and leadership training in the form of lectures and discussions.
