Sarah Hamaoui

Overview

Sarah Hamaoui has promoted incitement and spread hatred of Zionists and Israel. Hamaoui is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of January 2023, Hamaoui’s LinkedIn page said she worked as an esthetician at Benefit Cosmetics in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada since December 2021. She worked as a freelance makeup artist since July 2015.

Hamaoui’s LinkedIn also said she graduated from Humber College with a diploma in cosmetics management in 2020.

As of September 2022, Hamaoui used the handle “@lebyrian” and the username “س” on Twitter. As of January 2023, Hamaoui used the same handle on Instagram as well as the handle “@makeupbylebyrian.”

Hamaoui spread anti-Semitism while she was in high school.

Incitement

On May 10, 2021, Hamaoui tweeted: “Israeli’s are cheering as trees and surroundings burn of the third holiest site of Islam, Masjid al-Aqsa. Israeli’s attacking innocent people praying within the mosque. Yet the media will portray Palestinians as the terrorists. From the bottom of my heart, f**k Israel.”

Hamaoui’s tweet was commenting on a video posted on Twitter of Israeli Jews celebrating Jerusalem Day at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem while a tree on the Temple Mount above caught fire.

In May 2021, social media erupted with videos allegedly showing Jews dancing and cheering while a tree burned near the Al-Aqsa mosque. The fire was reportedly caused by Palestinian rioters shooting fireworks at Israeli police. Jews had gathered at the Western Wall in honor of Jerusalem Day, an Israeli national holiday, with no connection to the incident.

The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.

Hatred of Zionists

On August 21, 2016, Hamaoui tweeted: “FALASTEEN BLADNA WAL ZIONISTS KLABNA [Palestine is our land and the Zionists are our dogs].”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On August 9, 2019, Hamaoui tweeted: “Why tf [the f**k] do so many of my followers follow a Zionist I’m shook.”

On August 6, 2020, during an argument on a Twitter thread, Hamaoui tweeted: “F**k Israel and all those who support it, have a great night

On March 10, 2021, Hamaoui tweeted: “She’s a Zionist IDF [Israel Defense Forces]hoe.”

Her tweet was in response to a tweet by another Twitter user who said that Hamoui looked like “that Wonder Woman actress,” referring to Israeli actress Gal Gadot.

Hamaoui also replied to that user writing: “I will actually kill you.”

Hatred of Israel

During Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) in Gaza, Hamaoui retweeted a May 13, 2021 tweet that read: “GAZA IS UNDER ATTACK RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE MASSACRING INNOCENT CIVILIANS. THIS IS GENOCIDE. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?? 100 AIRSTRIKES IN 10 MINUTES. #GazaUnderAttack #FreePalestine.”

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On May 10, 2021, Hamaoi tweeted: “This is not a war, this is systematic genocide. This is not a feud over land, this is ethnic cleansing. Israel is not a country, it’s a settler colony illegally occupying Palestine.”

On August 10, 2020, Hamaoui tweeted: “....anyways, f**k Israel lol.”

On May 9, 2019, Hamaoui tweeted: “Happy 71 years of illegal occupation/settlements, apartheid, systematic genocide, torture and attempts to wipe Palestinian history

!!!!!”

Hamaoui’s tweet was in response to a tweet from then-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wishing Israelis a happy Israeli Independence Day.

On March 22, 2019, Hamaoui tweeted: “Anyways, Allah Yil3an Israel [May Allah curse Israel].”

High School Anti-Semitism

On July 22, 2015, Hamaoui tweeted: “Allah yil3an al yahood [May Allah curse the Jews] goodnight.”

On July 7 2015, Hamaoui tweeted: “Falasteen bladna, wal Yahood klabna [Palestine is our land and the Jews are our dogs].”
