Overview
Sara Aqel [Sara Izdehar Aqel] is a Pharmacy Technician who has expressed violent tendencies, particularly towards Jews and Zionists. Aqel has spread anti-Semitism, anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and equated Israel with Nazi Germany.Aqel has also demonized Zionists and Israelis, spread hatred of Israel and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of August 2020, Aqel’s Facebook page said she was a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Optum Rx/UnitedHealth Group, from “March 1, 2018 to present” and lived in “Edison, New Jersey.” On October 20, 2020 UnitedHealth Group tweeted that Aqel was “not a member of our organization and has not been for some time.”
Also as of August 2020, Aqel was listed with New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs as having an active New Jersey Pharmacy Technician license, number 28RW02362200 in Edison, New Jersey, issued on February 26, 2015 and slated to expire on August 31, 2020.
In March 2018, Aqel was reportedly a Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society student at Middlesex County College (MCC) in New Jersey.
Aqel indicated on Twitter that she attended MCC, finished her first semester of Pharmacy school in May 2017 and had “5.75 years to go” and would graduate “with a doctor of pharmacy.”
In September 2018, Aqel was listed on coursehero.com as a student at Rutgers University (Rutgers), enrolled in a Biology course.
In October 2017, Aqel tweeted that she “Went to school for medical assisting and became a medical assistant. Then went for pharmacy technician and became a pharm tech.”
As of August 2020, Aqel went by the name “Sara Izzy” on Facebook.
In August 2020, Aqel used the handle “izzybewildin” and the screen name “Abused By Sara” on Twitter.

Aqel responded: “They make my job so hard allah ya5idhom [May Allah get rid of them].”
On April 20, 2020, Aqel tweeted “The only acceptable racism.” Aqel’s tweet included a video that featured a Palestinian addressing Israelis, saying “… What do you guys think of my penny collection.”
On July 1, 2020, Aqel tweeted: “Oh would u look at that. Not a Jew or an Israeli in sight.”
Aqel’s tweet included another tweet that featured an image of “Jerusalem 1830s.”
Jews have lived in Jerusalem and the Land of Israel and maintained a presence there since the siege of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70CE.
Anti-Jewish Conspiracy Theories
On March 3, 2019, Aqel tweeted suggesting that all United States presidents are “secretly Jewish.”On November 26, 2018, Aqel tweeted: “America is doing to the people in TJ [Tijuana] Mexico what Israel is doing to the Palestinians. Monkey see monkey do! Both controlled by the same government.”
On May 20, 2018, Aqel tweeted: “...israel runs the world low key smh.”
Aqel retweeted a July 26, 2020 tweet that read: “Jewish people own most of the media if not all!! No wonder they are trying to destroy wileys character...”
In July 2020, the British rapper Wiley was banned from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook after he posted numerous anti-Semitic tweets.
Equating Israel with Nazi Germany
On May 9, 2019, Aqel tweeted: “Ur people are literally recreating the holocaust on all the Palestinians as we speak. I’d deny that s**t too.”Aqel’s tweet was in response to a tweet by the Jewish actor Seth Rogen, that read: “Ho-ho-holocaust denier.” Rogans’ tweet was referring to anti-Semitic Hollywood star, Mel Gibson.
On January 31, 2019, Aqel tweeted: “Israel is the new nazi Germany.”
Aqel’s tweet included another tweet that read: “The moment when the Israeli soldiers executed a Palestinian student Samah Mubarak at a checkpoint near the occupied #Jerusalem today. #IsraeliCrimes.”
On January 30, 2019, 16-year-old Samah Mubarak attempted to stab an Israeli security officer and was shot by Israeli Security forces.
Demonizing Zionists and Israelis
On February 11, 2020, in response to a tweet that featured a graphic with a caption that read “DESCRIBE ISRAEL IN THREE WORDS,” Aqel tweeted: “They’re a terrorist.”On October 14, 2019, Aqel tweeted: “But we have to be sorry the Holocaust happened????? F**k outta here !!!!!”
Aqel’s tweet was in response to another tweet that claimed to feature photos of Palestinian victims killed at Deir Yassin during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. The images included a photo showing rows of dead Jews filling the yard of Hiltler’s Nordhausen concentration camp.
On May 6, 2019, Aqel tweeted: “Israel sending my peoples straight to heaven while they await hell. WE NEVER LOSE!!!!!”
On April 10, 2019, Aqel tweeted: “Israelis hate us but be learning our language and claiming our food. Y’all sound like a hating a** b**ch who copies the girl she claims she don’t like.”

Support for BDS

BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
