Overview

Samar Dahleh has shown support for terrorists, spread hatred of Zionists, promoted hatred of Israel and demonized Zionism.

Dahleh co-founded the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Cabrini University (Cabrini) in 2019.

As of May 2021, Dahleh’s LinkedIn said she graduated from Cabrini with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government and Philosophy in 2021 and that she was studying a master’s degree in Criminology at Cabrini, due to graduate in 2022.

Dahleh’s LinkedIn also said she was a Student Ambassador at Cabrini since November 2019, a Research Assistant at Cabrini’s Center on Immigration since September 2019 and a Customer Service Associate at Wawa, Inc. since July 2016.

Also as of May 2021, Dahleh’s LinkedIn said she was located in Greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As of May 2021, Dahleh used the handle “sa_mooraa” and screen name “سمور” on Twitter.

Support for Terrorists

Dahleh retweeted an April 9, 2021 tweet that referred to a “beautiful Leila Khalid quote” with a graphic of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist Leila Khaled holding an assault rifle. The quote on the graphic said: “I HAVE LEARNED THAT A WOMAN CAN BE A FIGHTER. A FREEDOM FIGHTER… BE A MOTHER…”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

Dahleh retweeted a June 23, 2020 tweet that said: “Ahmed Erakat was on his way to pick up his mother and sisters from the salon when he got shot by the zionist entity today…”

Ahmad Erekat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat; Ahmed Erakat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured. The incident was captured on video.

Spreading Hatred of Zionists

Also on May 12, 2021, Dahleh tweeted: “Any supporter of Israel is a supporter of genocide.”

On the same date, Dahleh tweeted: “Zionists are brainwashed. Israel is a terrorist state. #FREEPALESTINE.”

On May 9, 2021, Dahleh tweeted: “zionists are the ugliest type of people.”

On June 21, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “...you cannot be pro black lives matter & pro israel.”

Promoting Hatred of Israel

Dahleh retweeted a May 12, 2021 tweet about Israeli airstrikes against Hamas in Gaza, with an image portraying Israel as copying the Nazis. Israel’s airstrikes were initiated in response to rocket Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket fire that targeted Israeli population centers.

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On May 11, 2021, after Hamas launched a barrage of rockets at Israel, killing two women in the Israeli city of Ashkelon, Dahleh tweeted: “I just hear birds chirping.” in response to a video of Israelis taking cover during a rocket siren in Jerusalem.

Dahleh retweeted a May 11, 2021 tweet that claimed a video of Jews tearing their clothing showed they were “ripping their shirts open to make it seem like palestinians attacked them.”

Jews traditionally tear clothing in a demonstrative ceremony of mourning for the death of loved ones or upon visiting the Temple Mount.

On September 15, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “iSrEaL is not a country

On August 12, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “if you support israel, you support the genocide of Palestinians…” Her tweet referred to a video of then-US Presidential candidate Kamala Harris speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, and expressing commitment to Israel’s security.

The stated mission of AIPAC is to “strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.”

On August 7, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “is it only me or does seeing pictures of ‘israel’ make you angry because you know it’s stolen land and they killed Palestinians for it? oh everyone ? good.”

On May 28, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “‘innocent IDF [Israel Defense Forces] solider’ is an oxymoron.”

Demonizing Zionism

On August 20, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “zionism is disgusting.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On May 28, 2020, Dahleh tweeted: “if you support our current administration it’s PERSONAL. you support racism, sexism, zionism, islamophobia, and xenophobia. period.”

MSA

The MSA was established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
