Saja Sonallah

Overview

Saja Sonallah has spread hatred of Israel and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

As of March 2021, Sonallah’s LinkedIn page said she studied at the University of Massachusetts (UMASS) Dartmouth at the Charlton College of Business, from “2018 - 2020,” and studied Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services as a Freshman at UMASS Amherst. 

Sonallah used the name Saja S on LinkedIn and was located in Greater Boston in March 2021.

As of the same date, Sonallah’s Facebook page said she worked at The Cove Restaurant in Fall River, Massachusetts.

As of March 2021, Sonallah used the handle “slimm1shady” and the screen name “Juju’ on Twitter and used the alias “sajsona” on Instagram as well as on Tiktok.

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On October 1, 2019, Sonallah tweeted: “How tf [the f**k] can you sit there glorifying the zbale [garbage] of israel, all they know is genocide and hate.”

On the same day, Sonallah tweeted: “Zionist a** b**ch.”

On June 1, 2019, Sonallah tweeted: “Imagine your whole personality is stealing culture and being a Zionist.”

Sonallah’s tweet featured a tweet with a photo of a Star of David on a necklace and read: “Ok so I know u guys didn't like the knafeh tweet but how about this amazing #israel #necklace #thatibought.”

On November 28, 2018, Sonallah tweeted: “Who tf [the f**k] would willingly study abroad amongst Zionist’s.”

Sonallah’s tweet included a tweet that read: “A whole a** college suspends a study abroad in Israel and we have Muslims from GSU going there with a smile lmao crazy #YesImStillSalty.”

The tweet referred to the Pitzer College faculty voting to suspend their study abroad program in Israel at Haifa University.

On November 23, 2018, Sonallah tweeted: “Where’s this energy towards Palestinians? Stop funding a genocide.”

Sonallah’s tweet was in response to a tweet by artist Pharrell Williams, who was criticized by anti-Israel activists for performing at a fundraiser for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) earlier that month, in November 2018

On May 14, 2018, Sonallah tweeted: “I’ll say this until the day I die, f**k israel.”

Sonallah retweeted an August 5, 2020 tweet, that read: “it’s f**k israel until my last breath on god.” 

Sonallah retweeted a June 23, 2020 tweet that read: “Ahmed Erekat, 27, beautiful young man. A son. A brother. Fiancée. My baby cousin. Israeli cowards shot him multiple times, left him to bleed for 1.5 hours and blamed him for his death. Tonight was his sister’s wedding, his was next month. We failed to protect him. I am so sorry.” 

Ahmad Erakat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was also injured.

Support for BDS

Sonallah retweeted a June 18, 2018 tweet, that read: “Daily reminder that Ben and Jerry’s is on the BDS list don’t fall for this s**t.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true. 

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”  

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.


BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
