Robert Andrews

Overview

Robert Andrews has expressed support for Hamas and other terrorists. Andrews has also spread hatred of Israelis, Zionists, Israel and the Police.

In February 2015, Andrews was reportedly president of the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Georgia State University (GSU SJP) and tweeted that by 2014 he had “started” his university’sSJP chapter.

Andrews is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

On July 11, 2022, Andrew tweeted that he “was in JVP [Jewish Voice For Peace] for years.” In 2015 and 2016, he indicated on Twitter that was a member of JVP.

As of April 2023, Andrews was listed as the sponsor of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Lakeside High School (LHS) in Atlanta, Georgia.

As of the same date, Andrews TikTok bio said he was a “Public school teacher on sabbatical.” On April 7, 2023, Andrews announced [00:00:08] on TikTok that he “recently got another job as a substitute teacher.”

On August 30, 2022, Andrews launched a podcast titled: “General Ed Kids Deserve Geography, Too!” The YouTube video description said the podcast intended to “work our way through the entire geography curriculum cultivated using the GA standards while assessing numerous issues throughout the US and its education system.”

As of April 2023, Andrews sold his educational products on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), an online resource-sharing platform for teachers.

As of September 2022, Andrews was listed on the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) online staff directory as a history teacher at LHS. However, Andrews wrote an August 16, 2022 article explaining that he resigned from his position as a ninth-grade social studies teacher at DSCD. On August 4, 2022, Andrews tweeted screenshots of his resignation letter.

In October 2021, Andrews described himself on Twitter as a “former ESL [English as a second language] teacher” who taught “ESL & History in Palestine” in 2016.

Andrews tweeted that he graduated from GSU with a “4 year degree in Mid East Studies w/ a focus Palestine” in 2015. As of September 2022, his LHS school profile read that he completed a master’s degree in “Arts of Teaching” at GSU.

Supporting Terrorists (Hamas, PFLP, PIJ)

On May 12, 2021, during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW) against terrorists in Gaza, Andrews tweeted: “do you mean the rockets fired from a violent oppressed people via ethno-nationalist apartheid that itself was a response to systematic ethnic cleansing? Apartheid.”

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On September 27, 2020, Andrews tweeted: “Leila Khaled is good actually.”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

On November 14, 2019, during Israel’s Operation Black Belt against PIJ, Andrews tweeted: “Israel is a violent apartheid oppressor. Resistance is legitimate.” His tweet was in response to a tweet from then-U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders that read: “Israelis should not have to live in fear of rocket fire.”

In November 2019, Israel launched Operation Black Belt to stop rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel. From November 12 to November 14, 2019, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror group sent hundreds of rockets into Israel, targeting major civilian population centers.

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.

On March 8, 2017, Andrews tweeted a graphic of terrorist Leila Khaled and wrote: “Don't Forget the Struggle.#InternationalWomensDay.”

On December 25, 2016, Andrews posted on Twitter two pictures hanging on walls in the Arab village of Beit Sahur near Bethlehem. One picture featured Leila Khaled wearing a keffiyeh and holding an AK-47. Andrews wrote: “These gems in Beit Sahur. #Palestine.”

On December 14, 2016, Andrews tweeted: “You spelled ‘29 years of armed resistance against Zionist ethnic cleansing and oppression’ wrong. حماس29# [#Hamas29],” in response to a tweet that read: “Today, Hamas celebrates 29 years of terror. #hamas29 #حماس29”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

On February 11, 2016, Andrews tweeted: “F**k your condemnations of #Hamas. #Zionist make me sick. Both #Hillary & #Bernie can f**k. off. #DemDebate.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On February 9, 2016, he tweeted: “@BernieSandersYou're very confused on Palestine-Israel. Hamas is a liberation movement against occupation and ethnic cleansing. #Palestine.”

On December 17, 2014, Andrews tweeted: “@TheTweetOfGodHamas = Liberation Struggle against Ethno-Religious Supremacist Apartheid parading as Judaism…”

On November 5, 2013, Andrews shared a petition on Twitter and wrote: “Drop the Charges against Rasmea Yousef Odeh http://petitions.moveon.org/s/x_amVB@moveon.”

Odeh was a key military operative with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist organization. In 1969, she masterminded a PFLP supermarket bombing that killed two college students. She also attempted to bomb the British consulate in Jerusalem. Odeh later moved to the United States but was deported to Jordan in 2017 for immigration fraud.

Hatred of Israelis and Zionists

On July 5, 2022, Andrews claimed on Twitter that “Israeli settlers” are “violent ethnic cleansers.”

On February 2, 2022, Andrews tweeted: “Being Israeli IS what makes you a violent genocider…”

On July 3, 2021, Andrews tweeted: “I hope all Zionist have a horrible day.”

On July 15, 2020, Andrews tweeted: “ashkenazis from brooklyn arent indigenous people sorry I dont make the rules. Israel is apartheid. Zionism is violent ethnic cleansing based on eugenics and colonialism.”

One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is by claiming that Israeli Jews have no connection to the Land of Israel.

Ashkenazi Jewry originated from an ancient Jewish community in the Middle East, whose descendants settled in Europe.

On October 31, 2019, Andrews tweeted: “And stay the f**k out, Zionist fash [fascist].”

On September 19, 2019, Andrews tweeted that: “Most Israelis are deeply racist apartheid segregationist.”

On September 19, 2018, Andrews tweeted: “I ran into a student from 2+ years ago a few months back, and you know what she remembered from the time I taught them?Me letting the Zionist in the class have an absolute meltdown, ultimately solidifying the lesson that Israel is Apartheid.”

On December 25, 2016, Andrews tweeted: “...One might call Israelis slave masters in a way, sure I can see that.”

Hatred of Israel

Andrews retweeted a September 28, 2022 tweet that read: “Today is the 22nd anniversary of the start of the 2nd Intifada, a Palestinian uprising that reminded the world of the horrors of Israeli apartheid. The uprising also succeeded in forcing the release of hundreds of prisoners & Israeli withdrawal from several Palestinian towns.”

The second intifada took place from 2000 to 2005 where Palestinian terrorists carried out over 130 suicide bombings, murdering over 1,000 Israeli civilians and soldiers. Terrorists targeted city buses, shopping centers, dance clubs and cafes. Palestinian leadership encouraged children to carry out “martyrdom” operations against Israel.

On August 29, 2022, Andrews tweeted: “Zionism IS an ethno nationalist eugenics ideology driven by violence, apartheid, and occupation. Duh.”

On April 15, 2022, Andrews tweeted: “...Israel is an ethno nationalist apartheid genocidal state.”

On October 21, 2021, Andrews tweeted: “All ethno nationalist violent eugencist slaughterous imperialist States should not exist, Israel included. Says more about you, then us that you thinks it's acceptable. Yall 🚮🚮🚮 who want to feel your genocide is acceptable. 🤡🤡🤡.”

On May 16, 2021, Andrews tweeted: “This Statement is Zionist propaganda. ‘River to the Sea’ predates these a**holes and you certainly have no say in how Palestinians resist.‘From the River to the sea, Palestine will be free.’Say it loud and keep your TV education to yourself.”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

On May 11, 2021, Andrews tweeted: “#Israel is an #Apartheid State. #Zionism is, and always has been, a Nationalist Supremacist Eugenics based movement & idea. Free #Palestine. Boycott, Divest, Sanction. #BDS.”

Hatred of the Police

On March 27, 2023, Andrew tweeted: “Police are in fact fascist…”

On May 26, 2023, Andrew tweeted: “Diverse police just means diverse police brutality…”

As of June 2023, Andrews’s Twitter bio said: “...#AbolishThePolice…” His Twitter username was: “#StopCopCity.”

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

JVP

JVP was founded in Berkeley, California in 1996, as an activist group with an emphasis on the “Jewish tradition” of peace, social justice and human rights. The organization is currently led by Rebecca Vilkomerson and its board members include Israel critics Naomi Klein, Judith Butler, Noam Chomsky and Tony Kushner.

JVP, which generally employs civil disobedience tactics to disrupt pro-Israel speakers and events, consists of American Jews and non-Jewish “allies” highly critical of Israeli policies. A staunch supporter of the BDS movement, JVP claims to aim its campaigns at companies that either support the Israeli military (Hewlett-Packard) or are active in the West Bank (SodaStream).

Although several Jewish groups critical of Israeli policies, like J Street and Partners for a Progressive Israel, make efforts to operate within the mainstream American Jewish community, JVP functions outside. The group is often criticized for serving as a tokenized Jewish voice for the pro-Palestinian camp and is widely regarded as the BDS movement’s “Jewish wing.”

JVP denies the notion of “Jewish peoplehood” and has even gone so far as to refer to its own Ashkenazi (Jews who spent the Diaspora in European countries) leadership as “white supremacy inside of JVP.”

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has accused JVP of being “the largest and most influential Jewish anti-Zionist group in the United States,” and said the group “exploits Jewish culture and rituals to reassure its own supporters that opposition to Israel not only does not contradict, but is actually consistent with, Jewish value.”

The ADL also claimed that “JVP consistently co-sponsors rallies to oppose Israeli military policy that are marked by signs and slogans  comparing Israel to Nazi Germany, demonizing Jews and voicing support for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.”

According to the ADL website, JVP “uses its Jewish identity to shield the anti-Israel movement from allegations of anti-Semitism and provide it with a greater degree of legitimacy and credibility.”

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
