Anti-Semitism During a Hamas War

On November 24, 2023, Gangemi shared on Facebook a video that depicted bodies of Jews murdered in the Holocaust piled in a ditch, with a voiceover that said [00:00:01]: “Never let them convince you that one Holocaust justifies another holocaust.”

The video title is then marked “2023” and depicts a ditch presumably filled with dead bodies in blue body bags, and the narrator continues [00:00:06]: “Free Palestine. Free Palestine. Free Palestine.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation. Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.

A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

Gangemi shared on Facebook a November 18, 2023 post featuring a graphic of a gloved hand with the Jewish star of David and the U.S. flag holding a butcher knife, chopping up a baby wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh.

The baby lay on a blood-spattered book titled: “INTERNATIONAL LAW.” The post said: “I will never forget. / ᖴᖇᗴᗴ ᑭᗩᒪᗴSTIᑎᗴ !!! 🇵🇸✌🏼.”

Support for a Terrorist

Gangemi shared on Facebook a November 19, 2023 post featuring a poem by Ghassan Kanafani: “All your armies / All your fighters / All your tanks / And all your soldiers / Against the boy / Holding a stone / Standing there / All alone…”

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.

Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence

Hatred of Israel

On February 16, 2018, Gangemi shared on Facebook a photo captioned:“...A Palestinian girl 🇵🇸 trying to defend her mother with a fork. By soldiers of the terrorist state of Israel. 🇮🇱

The photo was taken from a November 16, 2016 article titled: “Kashmir Uprising” from The Pakistan Observer, depicting the conflict between India and Kashmir.

On April 15, 2018, Gangemi shared on Facebook an article from the Middle East Monitor website titled: “Israel using ‘strange gases’ against protesters in Gaza.”

In May 2018, terror group Hamas instigated violent riots on the Israeli-Gaza border. Thousands of rioters attempted to breach Israel’s border fence, declaring their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”

The violent riots during the “March of Return” continued into 2019 and included armed protesters using gunfire, penetrating Israeli territory, launching incendiary kites into Israel and throwing IEDs, hand grenades and Molotov cocktails. Some of the attacks were carried out by Hamas operatives.

During the March of Return, Hamas routinely directed its members to infiltrate the border between Gaza and Israel to train for an attack on Israeli communities in the area, leading to the October 7, 2023 massacre.

On May 15, 2018, Gangemi shared on Facebook a video about the March of Returntitled: “Gaza: Israeli Soldiers Kill 50+ Palestinians Protesting Nonviolently as U.S. Opens Jerusalem Embassy.”

On May 12, 2021, Gangemi posted on Facebook: “Pay attention!” Her comment was linked to a TikTok video that read: “Britisch [sic] Musician about the Terrorism of Israel. #Rogerwaters #Freepalestine…”

Roger Waters is a world-famous musician and BDS activist who has compared Israel to Nazi Germany. He has also been accused of spreading anti-Semitism at his concerts.

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

On May 20, 2021, Gangemi shared on Facebook an article from the Washington Post titled: “Sen. Bernie Sanders to introduce resolution of disapproval on $735 million U.S. arms sale to Israel” with the comment: “Follow reason!!!”
