On October 30, 2013, Ashkar defended her use of the offensive term, tweeting: “Don't come at me for using Abeed as a slang word when black call each other the n word gtfoh.”
Defending Terrorism
On June 18, 2014, Ashkar tweeted: “Lmao is abu mazin retarded?? Demonizing Israel

Ashkar attached to the tweet screenshots of an article that claimed Israel was committing a US-funded genocide against the Palestinians and called Gaza “the world’s largest open air prison.” The article also claimed that “thousands and thousands of innocent women and children were slaughtered...innocent mothers raped. Young children beaten and shot.” The article conclude by calling Israel “the real terrorists.”
