Rebecca Rothstein
Rebecca Rothstein [Rebecca F. Rothstein] is a former math teacher who has expressed support for Hamas terrorism, called for intifada, equated Israel with Nazi Germany, and spread hatred of Israel and America.
The profilee's statements were made during an extended period of global antisemitism that began with the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds. Israel immediately launched a war against Hamas.
Rothstein is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of January 2026, Rothstein was reportedly no longer employed as a math teacher at Argyle Middle School, located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
As of July 2026, Rothstein's Instagram bio said she was an "...Educator / Organizer / Anti-Zionist Jew."
On November 27, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, Rothstein posted on Instagram: "respect existence or expect resistanceđź–¤ #palestine #freepalestine #liberation #resist."
Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
“Free Palestine!” is a chant used to call for Israel's destruction, acting as a shorter version of "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!" It was shouted during multiple deadly attacks on pro-Israel activists in 2025 in America. It has been used to vandalize synagogues and other Jewish-owned property, and is described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.”
On January 20, 2025, Rothstein posted on Instagram: "You gotta be CHOOSING not to connect the dots between zi0nim & naz!m [Zionism and Nazism]," and commented with an emoji of an inverted red triangle.
The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It first appeared in propaganda videos produced by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, during its terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The symbol was used by Hamas to signify one of their Israeli targets.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.
Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see. On July 31, 2024, Rothstein posted on Instagram a graphic with text that read: "we haven't been chanting 'intifada revolution' just because she has the right amount of beats." She wrote in a comment: "it’s our turn🖤."
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On March 1, 2024, Rothstein posted on Instagram a video of herself, in which she said [00:00:04]: "It is devastating to learn that Israel is, essentially, Nazi Germany."
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.
On January 19, 2025, Rothstein posted on Instagram a graphic with text that read: "you have about 24 hours to prove you were against the holocaust of the palestinian people."
Anti-Israel activists compare Israel to Nazi Germany to insinuate that the plight of Palestinians has eclipsed Jewish suffering during the Holocaust.
On April 8, 2024, Rothstein posted on Instagram: "... F**K ISRAEL. I'll say it again, F**K ISRAEL. and f**k the USA..."
On January 31, 2024, Rothstein posted on Instagram a video of herself, in which she said [00:00:01]: "I just screamed f**k you at a bunch of people who were holding U.S. and Israel flags on the side of the road. And I highly recommend that as a way to wake up."
On November 27, 2023, Rothstein posted on Instagram: "it is very clear who the t3rrorists are, and if you still don't see iof that way, you have some antiracisim work yet to do."
“IOF” means “Israeli Occupation Forces,” a term used by anti-Israel activists to demonize Israel’s army in place of its real name, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). "IOF" is used to allege that Israel’s existence is illegitimate by accusing Israeli Jews of illegitimately occupying the entire land.

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
