Noora Lahoud

Overview

Noora Lahoud [Noora Y. Lahoud] ripped down posters raising awareness of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas terrorists in October 2023.

Lahoud has also expressed support for terrorism, justified violence against Israelis and spread hatred of Israel while engaging in anti-Israel activism.

In April 2023, Lahoud was reportedly the “Creative Director” of the Student for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Boston University (BU SJP). In October 2023, the same month she ripped down the posters, she was reportedly “an active member” of BU SJP.

In August 2022, Lahoud was affiliated with the pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL).

As of October 2023, Lahoud’s since-deleted Facebook page said she had been studying at BU since 2021. As of April 2023, Lahoud was reportedly a “sophomore in the College of General Studies” at BU. BU is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

10/23/2023 - Ripping Down Posters of Kidnapped Israeli Civilians

On October 23, 2023, Lahoud was filmed [00:00:01] on the BU campus ripping down posters raising awareness of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and held hostage in Gaza.

When confronted by the person recording Lahoud on camera and asked why she removed the posters, Lahoud responded [00:00:09]: “You’re spreading propaganda. Fake news.”

Denial of the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, among anti-Israel activists has been likened to Holocaust denial among neo-Nazis.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation. Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, over 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.

A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.

For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

11/5/2022 - Hatred of Israel at an SJP Rally

On November 5, 2022, Lahoud joined [slide 10] a group of BU SJP activists in a protest to “shut down” the Jewish National Fund (JNF), which held its national conference at Omni Hotel in Boston that day. The event flyer claimed that JNF “has been stealing land and colonizing Palestine since 1901.” The flyer also said: “FIGHT ZIONISM AND WHITE SUPREMACY!”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

Lahoud appeared [slide 10] in the photo from the protest wearing a keffiyeh. Another anti-Israel protester in the picture was holding a sign that read: “FROM THE RIVER 2 THE SEA PALESTINE WILL BE FREE.”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.

At the protest, anti-Israel activists chanted [slide 2]: “Intifada! Intifada!” and [slide 7]: “Zionism! Shut it down!...Colonialism! Shut it down!”

The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.

8/29/2022 - Support for Terrorism at a WOL Rally

On August 29, 2022, Lahoud participated in a WOL rally in New York, New York, where she held a sign that said: “SUPPORT PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE.”

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.

The rally was called to “free all Palestinian prisoners.” At the rally, Abdullah Akl, one of WOL’s leaders, led the chants: “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” and: “Palestine is our demand! No peace on stolen land!”

Justifying Violence

On April 24, 2023, Lahoud was featured in an article in a student-run newspaper at BU, where she was quoted as saying: “The Israel Defense Force gets [$3.8] billion from America as international aid every year. So it’s [Palestinian] rocks against [$3.8] billion annually…”

Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence

Lahoud further stated: “I think it’s very natural and it’s normal to retaliate against colonization. Since when is it racist to retaliate against colonization?”

In the same article, Lahoud also said: “What the statement long live the Intifada means is we don’t want these Palestinian children to be killed or Palestinian people at all to be killed simply because of the fact that they exist.”

Anti-Israel Activism (SJP)

On March 22, 2022, Lahoud participated in a BU SJP meeting during the organization’s Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) held on the university campus.

Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is presented internationally as a “series of events that seeks to raise awareness of…Israel’s settler-colonial project and apartheid system over the Palestinian people.” One of its goals is to build support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. IAW has been renamed Palestine Awareness Week.

During IAW, BU SJP activists displayed [slide 1] a sign that said: “FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA.”

On March 31, 2022, Lahoud participated in a BU SJP rally against the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), demanding an end to the “Deadly Exchange” and “DROP THE ADL!” The rally was held at Boston City Hall.

In August 2020, over 100 anti-Israel organizations, including American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), launched “Drop the ADL” campaign, urging “progressive groups” in the U.S. to cut ties with ADL and criticizing the Jewish advocacy organization for its support of Israel.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was founded in 1913 “To stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.”

In 2017, anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) launched the “Deadly Exchange (DX)” campaign, which accused American Jewish organizations of promoting human rights abuses. JVP also released a video that blamed [00:04:04] U.S.-based Jewish organizations for violence that occurs against Black and Brown communities, immigrants and activists in the U.S.

Lahoud appeared in a photo posted on Instagram by BU SJP, wearing a keffiyeh and holding a Palestinian flag alongside other anti-Israel protesters.

On April 25, 2022, Lahoud participated in BU SJP’s last meeting of the 2021-2022 academic year, where BU SJP summed up their year as “inspirational,” listing IAW events, an “end the deadly exchange banner drop” and other activities.

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
