Support for a Terrorist

On July 9, 2020, Arid tweeted a video clip from an interview with Ghassan Kanafani.

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.  

Arid retweeted the same video of Kanafani, posted on April 8, 2021.

The original poster of the video wrote: “On the 85th birthday of Palestinian revolutionary writer Ghassan Kanafani, assassinated by Israel’s Mossad in 1972, we remember his words:”

Hatred of America

On August 5, 2020, Arid tweeted: “F**k you. F**k Am*rica. F**k Isra*l. They're the ones that tortured and screwed the Middle East over, but anyways the Lebanon explosion JUST happened. The whole country is in shambles trying to figure out if their loved ones were killed, so either stfu about it or open ur wallet.”

On August 4, 2020, an explosion at a port in Beirut, Lebanon killed over 150 people and injured thousands. Lebanese officials explained that the cause of the explosion was ammonium nitrate stored at a warehouse.  

On May 13, 2020, Arid tweeted: “I wish I could but Zionist products are in most global products. I try to when I can. Not much I can do when Amerikkka sends billions of tax dollars to support the Israeli government too. So I support any form of boycott people are capable of.”

The term “Amerikkka” uses the initials of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) as a way to demonize America as “fascist or racist.”  

Arid’s tweet was in response to a tweet that read: “So you support complete boycott of Zionist products?”

Hatred of Zionists

On August 9, 2020, Arid tweeted: “...What's imperialistic is the ideology of Zionism…”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On August 8, 2020, Arid tweeted a meme that featured a caption that read: “F**K ZIONISM, ALL MY HOMIES HATE ZIONISM.”

On August 6, 2020, Arid tweeted: “Anyways f**k Israel, don't know why I'm talking to a Zionist...” 

On August 3, 2020, Arid tweeted: “Zionists deserve rights too !!!”

Arid’s tweet was responding to a tweet that featured a graphic with a caption that read: “You've been kidnapped Your kidnappers allow you keep posting on social media to pretend everything is alright.”

On May 12, 2020, Arid tweeted: “LMAOO i genuinely think bcz the arab community cancelled him so many times he turned to the zionist community, trash accepts trash .”

Hatred of Israel

On February 10, 2021, Arid tweeted a video of herself where said [00:00:00]: “You cannot safely criticize the Israeli government as a Palestinian American because you will get put on canarymission.org or if you join groups like SJP [Students for Justice in Palestine] or the BDS movement you also get put on the website.” 

Arid continued [00:00:13]: “so they literally blacklist Palestinians for protesting against the Israeli government for the current apartheid, occupation and genocide that’s going on in Palestine.” 

Arid added to the thread: “ITS SO MEAN LIKE DAMN U CANT EVEN BOYCOTT AND NOT SUPPORT THE GENOCIDE OF UR PPL lol.”

On June 29, 2020, Arid tweeted: “1. the idea that Jewish people were first indigenous to Palestine 3000 years ago despite there being proof that Palestinians also existed there and were indigenous before the establishment of the establishment state of ISRA*L does not mean that Isra*l should be allowed to commit-.”

Arid continued: “acts of genocide.”

On May 31, 2020, Arid tweeted: “F**k israel yo.”

On May 28, 2020, Arid tweeted: “No one is justifying s**t, but imagine trying to neglect and justify a whole genocide and breach of international laws Israel is committing by talking about Islamic conquests as if Palestine is JUST muslim... weird behavior sis.”

Arid’s tweet was responding to a tweet that read: “Arabs cry and throw tantrums about ‘isr*el’ and Palestine but justify the Islamic conquests lmaoooo awwww.”

On May 15, 2020, Arid tweeted: “Nakba day is today. Just remember the Palestinians expelled from their homeland under illegal Israeli occupation. It WAS an ethnic cleansing.”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

On May 12, 2020, Arid tweeted: “anyways f**k israel.”

On April 18, 2020, Arid tweeted: “Imagine saying that as if they [Israel] aren't commiting genocide against palestinian children.”

On August 20, 2018, Arid tweeted: “Lana Del Rey going to support Zionism with her 'good white people vibes' is the funniest thing to me. Love that she isn't going to boycott the genocide happening, but instead, with her GOOD LOVING ENERGY, is going to end the Palestinian/Israeli war. Love that.”

Arid’s tweet was in response to a tweet by the artist Lana Del Rey, who tweeted that she was going to that year’s Tel Aviv Meteor Festival to bring a message of peace and unification to the children in the region, via music.

Arid retweeted an April 20, 2021 tweet that read: “Their alliance w isr*els ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is also unmatched.” 

The tweet was responding to a tweet that read: “Ben and Jerry’s alliance with social issues and racial issues is unmatched in America.”

On March 11, 2020, Arid tweeted: “good thing he [U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders] wants to end Israel funding, we could use the tax money sent as military aid to Israel and fund Medicare for all instead.”

High School Israel Hatred

On May 13, 2018, Arid tweeted: “You do realize that Israel commits genocide by belittling and slaughtering Palestinian civilians?..”

On April 14, 2018, Arid tweeted: “You do realize that the media all over the world makes Israel look better and Arabs are the ones considered 'terrorists.'”

On December 5, 2017, Arid tweeted: “Lw confused why people support Zionism when it’s literally a disguised genocide:”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true. 

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”  

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
