Niveen Nabulsi

Overview

Niveen Nabulsi has spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and hatred of Israel and Zionists. Nabulsi has also promoted a terrorist and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In 2017, Nabulsi indicated on Twitter that she was affiliated with the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Nabulsi is a supporter of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF). PCRF has been financially linked with The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, Global Relief Foundation and The International [Islamic] Relief Organization — all of which were shut down by the United States government for funneling donations to terrorist organizations.

In April 2017, Nabulsi indicated on Twitter that she was a student at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). As of January 2018, Nabulsi was a member of the “University of Illinois Class of 2019” closed Facebook group as well as a member of the “Unofficial UIC Class of 2019” closed Facebook group.

Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories

On July 5, 2017, Nabulsi tweeted: “We're bonding with our Uber driver over our hatred for Zionists and how they control the media. He's also pro-Palestinian and Muslim #bless.”

On July 25, 2014, Nabulsi tweeted: “Proof that our media is so controlled. The second a Palestinian tries to voice his opinion, he is shut down.”

Hatred of Israel

As of July 20, 2021, Nabulsi’s Facebook profile picture displayed the hashtag #SaveSheikhJarrah, in English and Arabic.

In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

Incitement surrounding Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers from May 10 to 21, 2021. In response to rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel launched “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” striking military targets in the terrorist-controlled enclave.
As of July 2021, Nabulsi’s Instagram bio included a link to a Google Drive folder labeled “13 Resources,” that contained multiple articles and links to materials demonizing Israel.

One sub-folder, labeled “Greenwashing, The Environment & Animal Rights” contained a document titled “Links to Greenwashing Resources.”

“Israeli Greenwashing,” a bullet point on the “Links to Greenwashing Resources” document, linked to a “Factsheet” accusing Israel of greenwashing, a claim that Israel advocates manipulate the environmentalist community in order to garner support for Israel.

“Flooding Palestinian Farmlands,” another bullet point on the document, linked to an article in the Palestine Chronicle that claimed: “Every year, Israel deliberately opens its dams to flood Palestinian agricultural lands.”

The libel that Israel has opened dams to flood Palestinian farmland has been debunked on numerous occasions.

A separate bullet point on the same document, “Stop the Jewish National Fund Greenwashing,” linked to an article with the same title on the BDS movement website.

On December 29, 2017, in response to a tweet that read: “BEER IS SO GROSS WHY!! WHY!!!!” Nabulsi tweeted: “Replace ‘beer’ with Israel.”

On October 6, 2017, Nabulsi tweeted: “What's a fun fact about me? Every time my philosophy professor talks about his daughter doing yoga in ‘Israel’, I get really triggered.” The following day, Nabulsi added: “I used to think he was woke until he kept calling Palestine ‘Israel’ and said he believes in a ‘two state solution’ :/”

On February 24, 2017, in response to a tweet by Al Jazeera journalist, Mehdi Hassan that read: “I asked Israeli minister Bennett if he had empathy for the Palestinians & he replied that Arabs envy Palestinians!” Nabulsi tweeted: “That's like someone saying they should envy the Jews during the Holocaust or black people when they were enslaved... :/”

On July 27, 2016, Nabulsi tweeted: “Ever since Hillary has become the Dem nominee, I just don't want to vote anymore lol” Nabulsi added: “This is the same lady who approved and helped Israel with Palestinian ethnic cleansing.”

On September 12, 2015, Nabulsi tweeted: “Hillary Clinton approves Israel bombing hospitals, children, and the killing of innocent people #BYEEEEEE”

On July 14, 2017, in response to a tweet that read: “Al-Aqsa is closed for the first time since 1969!” Nabulsi tweeted: “Israeli apartheid at its finest”

Terrorists murdered two Israeli police officers on July 14, 2017, outside the entrance to the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israel responded by installing metal detectors and security checks at the entrance to the holy site.

On April 20, 2018, in response to a tweet by City of Toronto Councillor, Norm Kelly, that read: “The Israeli Flag will be flying at City Hall today in honour of Israel Independence Day,” Nabulsi tweeted: “I’m so glad I unfollowed. Just another Zionist puppet for Israeli Zionists. Norm, that flag is built on the genocide, displacement and dispossession of Palestinians and their land.”

On January 21, 2018, In response to a tweet by pro-Israel activist, Chloe Valdary, that read: “Proud Zionists. Proud Feminists. 🙏🏾❤️🇮🇱 w/ @ZionessMovement,” Nabulsi tweeted: “Zionism is the ideology that believes in the creation of Israel exclusively for Jewish people by means of dispossession, exile, colonization, apartheid and the genocide of the Palestinian people. If you are a Zionist, YOU ARE NOT A FEMINIST. POINT BLANK.”

Nabulsi’s tweet was in response to a tweet by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) that read: “We are #Pink @breastcancernow #BreastCancerAwareness” and featured a photo of a pink Israeli fighter jet.

Promoting a Terrorist

As of July, 2021, Nabulsi inserted a link in her Instagram bio to a Google Drive folder labeled “13 Resources.”

One sub-folder, titled “On the Zionist Lobby in Western Politics,” contained a document labeled “videos” with the bullet point: “Ghassan Kanafani on why dialogue is unproductive,” and a link to a video of Kanafani.

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.

Supporting BDS

On June 14, 2018, Nabulsi tweeted: “If you shop at Sephora, please AVOID BUYING Natasha Denona!!!!! They are a Zionist brand that supports the genocide of the Palestinian people!!!”

Natasha Denona is an international makeup artist and brand owner who spent decades living in Israel, where she founded a makeup academy.

On March 23, 2018, Nabulsi tweeted: “If you’re buying sabra hummus in 2018 you’re SUS idc don’t @ me, you’re supporting a Zionist regime built on the foundations of genocide and displacement of land and people.”

Sabra Hummus is partially owned by an Israeli company, the Strauss Group.

On January 18, 2018, Nabulsi tweeted: “Hi, if you’re a Palestinian ally, please stop buying Sabra hummus. They’re a HUGE Zionist brand. I also know ppl who got food poisoning from their hummus.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
