Overview
Nadine Ilaian has expressed support for terrorists and spread hatred of Israel. She has also promoted violence and spread anti-Semitism while in high school.As of September 2020, Ilaian’s LinkedIn said she was an intern at the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) San Diego from 2016 to 2020.
As of September 2020, Ilaian’s LinkedIn said she was “an incoming freshman at MiraMar Community College [San Diego Miramar College], in hopes of transferring to SDSU [San Diego State University] to further my education and passion in Journalism.”
Support for Terrorists
Ilaian retweeted a July 16, 2020 tweet that said: “Martyr Ghassan Kanafani a famous Palestinian journalist/writer being told in an interview to ‘stop fighting (for the Palestinian cause)’. HIS RESPONSE IS THE EXACT REASON WE CONTINUE TO FIGHT!!
”Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
On June 23, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “#JusticeForAhmedErekat .”
Ahmad Erakat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured. The incident was captured on video.
Spreading Hatred of Israel
On July 16, 2020, Ilaian tweeted, referring to family members in Israel: “LET MY 14 YEAR OLD COUSINS & THEIR FRIENDS OUT OF THE DETENTION CENTERS FOR THROWING PEBBLES AT GOOGOOGAGA ARMED SOLIDERS.”Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence.
On July 8, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “ill never forget the year my schools yearbook dedicated a whole page of me talking about palestine & our culture. soooo sweet till you flip the page AND SEE A WHOLE PAGE DEDICATED TO A MF [Mother F**ker] JOINING THE IDF [Israeli Defense Forces]
.”On the same date, she tweeted: “i didnt get the yrbook but i made my friend right free palestine across the whole page
.,” in response to a tweet that said: “i hope you scribbled all over the page you dont need to see that. disgusting.”On July 3, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “zionists are so brainwashed its depressing.”
On June 17, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “burn the house. once thats on one wall, you gotta throw the whole house away…” Her tweet was in response to a tweet that said: “you get invited to a guy’s house and this is his room, wyd [what are you doing]? get creative” and included a picture of a bedroom with the Israeli flag on one wall.
On April 29, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “72 years of genocide towards innocent palestinians (who some are over the age of ur “country”) isn’t something to celebrate.” Her tweet was in response to a tweet by the IDF celebrating 72 years of Israeli independence.
On March 27, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “like my new insta post or ur a zionist.”
High School Promoting Violence
Ilaian retweeted a January 29, 2020 tweet that said “Respect existence or expect resistance.” and included a video glorifying the violent March of Return riots and Gazans using slingshots in the riots.On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations were instigated by Hamas on the Israeli-Gaza border. Participants declared their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”
March participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes. Rioters also made numerous attempts to breach Israel’s border fence, which caused the Israeli Defense Forces to respond with live fire.
The violent riots during the “March of Return” continued into 2019 and included armed protesters using gunfire, penetrating Israeli territory, launching incendiary kites into Israel and throwing IEDs, hand grenades and Molotov cocktails. Some of the attacks were carried out by Hamas operatives.

”On January 4, 2020, Ilaian tweeted: “THIS IS FOR ISRAEL YOU BIG FAT WHITE NASTY SMELLING FAY B**CH WHY YOU TAKE PALESTINE OFF THE MOTHERF**KIN MAP WITH YO TRIFFLIN DIRTY WHITE RACIST A** YOU BIG FAT OOMPA LOOMPA BODY A** B**CH IM COMING UP THERE AND IMMA BEAT THE F**K OUT OF YOU B**CH.”
On November 3, 2017, Ilaian tweeted: “dear loved ones in Palestine,
ISRARLIS ARE LITERALLY SCARED FROM ROCKS LMFAOO KEEP FIGHTING YA RO7HEES [my dear ones].”
High School Anti-Semitism
On August 19, 2017, Ilaian tweeted: “i go to palestine and i see all of these israelis and i say, ‘wtf [what the f**k] what are jew doing here?’”CAIR
CAIR describes itself as a “grassroots civil rights and advocacy group” and “America's largest Muslim civil liberties organization, with regional offices nationwide.” Its official mission is “enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.”
CAIR reportedly has “significant ties” to the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Hamas. A number of former CAIR employees have been convicted on fraud and terrorism-related charges that resulted monetary fines, jail terms and, sometimes, deportation.
CAIR was founded in 1994 and opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook.
Marzook, who was listed as a "Specially Designated Terrorist" by the U.S. Treasury Department in 1995, is reportedly a senior member of Hamas.
In May 2007, CAIR was listed as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a U.S.-filed action against the HLF for providing funds to Hamas.
CAIR was also listed as a terrorist entity by the United Arab Emirates, in 2014.
