Muhammad Salah’s protest appearance

On October 17, 2023, ten days after Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, a local anti-Israel activist group held a pro-terror rally in Philadelphia. Protesters participated in chants calling [00:00:19] for Israel’s destruction and promoting [00:00:01] hatred of Israel. Later in the evening, protesters spread religious incitement by chanting: “Be-ruh, be-dam, nifdik ya, Aqsa [With spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, Aqsa]!”
The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.

Muhammad Salah’s protest appearance

On December 3, 2023, the Philly Palestine Coalition organized a protest and march titled: “Flood Philly For Gaza.” The rally’s name echoed “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” the name Hamas assigned to its deadly attacks on Israeli communities, on October 7th.
The event began with a rally in Rittenhouse Park and was followed by a march and solidarity vigil with the Coalition to Save the UC Townhomes. Protesters called for Israel’s destruction, chanting [00:00:02]: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!” They also called for violence, chanting [00:00:02]: “There is only one solution! Intifada, revolution!”
Protesters also reportedly stood outside a Jewish-owned restaurant named “Goldie” and chanted [00:00:02]: “Goldie, Goldie, you can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!”

The language of “flood” is a reference to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque. This accusation has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.
