Mohammad Shaham
Mohammad Shaham [Mohammad Nazme Shaham] wore a Hamas headband at an anti-Israel protest in January 2025 and led a chant celebrating Hamas rocket attacks against Israeli civilians the day after Hamas terrorists killed approximately 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.
In January 2025, the Jew Hate Database reported that Mohammad Shaham was arrested in 2021 and charged with a felony, "Criminal Mischief 1st Degree."
In April 2024, Shaham was a member of a Bridgeport Islamic Community Center (BICC) delegation to Washington, D.C., as part of an annual Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) campaign to send youth to meet U.S. senators and representatives in Congress. BICC is located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
In May 2024, Shaham participated in an anti-Israel protest that was co-organized by the Connecticut chapter of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), as well as a chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a campus activist group.
On May 29, 2024, New England Public Media (NEPM) reported that Shaham, who lives in Connecticut, has attended rallies in New York and "goes to rallies in the region at least once a week." On the same day, he reportedly participated in an anti-Israel rally that was part of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of January 2025, Shaham's LinkedIn profile said he had been working as a plumber at "OG Pluming."
Also as of January 2025, Shaham's Facebook saidhe was located in Fairfield, Connecticut.
On January 6, 2024, Shaham wore a Hamas headband and a sweatshirt with an inverted red triangle at an anti-Israel protest outside Tisch Hospital in New York, New York.
The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It was first used by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks to signify an Israeli target.
The protest was organized by the pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL) and titled: "FLOOD NEW YORK CITY FOR GAZA."
Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is the name Hamas used for their terror operation on October 7, 2023. It is a reference to the allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, and has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948.
During the protest, Shaham screamed [00:00:01] at pro-Israel protesters: "Suck my f**king dick! Go home! Go home!"
Shaham addressed the pro-Israel protesters and then pointed at his Hamas headband and asked [00:00:13]: "Do you guys like this? I look good, right? Like it? Look at it! Take a nice picture! Put it on your wall!"
Anti-Israel activists chanted at the protest: “We don’t want no Zionists here! Say it clear, say it loud...!" They also chanted [00:00:01]: "...from the sea to the river, Palestine will live forever...," a chant which is a variation of another chant that calls for Israel's destruction.
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” is a chant used [00:02:52] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel.
Also on October 8, 2023, Shaham posted on Facebook: "Prayers and dua [supplication] as we stand and raise our heads high #palestine #gaza #wasalwaysours #isnotreal."
Shaham's Facebook post included an image with the Palestinian flag and text that read: "I STAND WITH PALESTINE."
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, approximately 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape of men and women, torture, kidnappings and mutilation.
Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ accounts for families to see. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” As of November 10, 2023, approximately 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority of them civilians, were murdered during the attacks. Hamas kidnapped 242 Israelis, including at least 30 children. At least 3,500 people were wounded, many severely.
A terrorist detained by Israel admitted he raped an Israeli woman when he broke into a kibbutz house during the October 7, 2023 attack. In March 2024, a former hostage of Hamas publicly stated she was sexually abused and tortured while in captivity.
For more information on the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On October 8, 2023, Shaham participated [02:25:54] in an anti-Israel protest in New York, New York.
During the protest, Shaham led [02:25:51] the chant: “Ya Qassam, ya Habib! Odrob, odrob Tel Aviv! [Oh Qassam, oh friend! Strike, strike Tel Aviv!]" The chant referred to the military wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
“Odrob, Odrob, Tel Abib” [Strike a Blow at Tel Aviv] is an anti-Semitic, Arabic-language song that celebrates rocket attacks against Israel. It was released in 2012 during Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD) against Hamas. The song was originally accompanied by images of injured Israelis [00:00:15] and rockets ready to be launched [00:00:42, 00:02:01].
On May 2, 2024, during Israel's war against Hamas, BICC posted on Facebook that its "youth Mohammad Shaham...participated in the recent DC trip to meet the US Senators and Representatives in Washington DC on April 29-30" as part of a team of twelve youth led by CAIR's Connecticut chapter. The trip was part of CAIR's "annual organized training campaign of CT [Connecticut] youth to meet the US Senators and Representatives."
BICC wrote that "Issues discussed included the ceasefire in Gaza...military aid to Israel, and The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) funding."
Shaham appeared in a photo next to anti-Israel agitator Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the group CODEPINK.
The United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) has hired Hamas members as teachers in its schools and provided arms to the terror group. Dozens of UNRWA staff participated in the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack on Israel, and many kept hostages for Hamas in their homes.
On May 29, 2024, NEPMreported that Shaham participated in a pro-BDS protest that day outside Connecticut’s Capitol building in Hartford, Connecticut.
One of the protest's goals was for the U.S. to divest from companies linked to Israel. Among the protest organizers were chapters of the anti-Israel organizations AMP and SJP.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
