Spreading Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories

On January 31, 2019, Okda tweeted: “@KhalidAlzubi dude wtfffffff. Israel is going into Venezuela as well literally every coup or regime change goes back to them.”

On August 1, 2014, Okda tweeted: “...Israel controls every news station in the world.Look it up. Why do you think the UN said they have found no rockets.”  

During Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas in 2014, the U.N. reported that its inspectors found rockets at U.N. schools in Gaza. 

In July 2014, then-U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s office released a statement saying: “those responsible are turning schools into potential military targets, and endangering the lives of innocent children.”

In April 2015, the U.N. issued a report stating [p.15] that a “projectile” was launched from a U.N. school on July 14, 2014, concluding [p.15] it “was highly likely that an unidentified Palestinian armed group could have used the school premises to launch attacks.”

Defending Hamas

On July 14, 2014, Okda tweeted: “stop the hamas blame game and start seeing the real evil.”

On July 9, 2014, Okda tweeted: “@nyiil @cnnbrk I am actually. Stop watching the biased news. Hamas is the last line of defense for Palestine. They never attacked first.”

On August 2, 2014, Okda tweeted: “here's the thing. Israel is equipped with military grade weapons. Class 3. Hamas have fireworks. Literally. None of the rockets.”

Hamas fired over 4,564 missiles and rockets at Israeli population centers during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in July 2014.  
Also on August 2, 2014, Okda tweeted: “please dude. And human shields? You realize the UN themselves have said those are false accusations. Why the eff would they use.”

That same day, Okda also tweeted: “would they know when a rocket is coming to grab a human shield?? And kids? Makes no sense bro.the world is watching they wouldn't.”

Throughout the summer of 2014 — during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) — Hamas's deployment of human shields was extensively documented and publicized. Hamas encouraged Gazans to act as human shields to frustrate Israeli efforts to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza. 

On August 4, 2014, Okda tweeted: “If I wasn't educated about the history of Palestine, I would've thought hamas was the terrorist. The media is a virus that's feeding us.”

On January 28, 2015, in a thread about Hamas, Okda tweeted: “shields? Really? Do you know their was never proof or ANY evidence of them using ‘human shields’. So what do you say about that.”

Also in that thread, Okda tweeted: “@Louamerica this is made up? You know it's not. Also hamas, is the only line of defense the Palestinians have. Pretty sure if someone came.”

On May 15, 2018, during the violent March of Return riots on Israel’s border with Gaza, Okda tweeted: “I said 50 killed. Not 2000. It meant injured. I’m asking was that staged.”

On May 16, 2018, a Hamas senior official, Salah al-Bardawil, stated that 50 out of 62 protesters killed during the May 14 Gaza border protest were Hamas operatives. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also claimed that three of its members were killed at the same protest.

That same day, he also tweeted: “...i award while they [Hamas] may be using kites, Israeli forces are using grade A weapons and missles on Palestinians. Majority of the hamas claims you have been mentioned have been debunked. You can’t convince anyone that hamas told 20000 ppl to be go attack Israel.”

Promoting Hatred of Israel

On March 31, 2015, Okda tweeted: “‘@violentfanon: Question: ‘Why hasn't ISIS attacked Israel?RaniaKhalek: ‘I really have no idea, but my guess would be shared values.’ #JSIL.’”

The hashtag “#JSIL” means “Jewish State in the Levant” and is used as a way of comparing Israel to the Islamic State (ISIS), also known as the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL).  

On February 12, 2015, Okda tweeted: “@OttawaW21 @smoothkobra @kaytoned saying? The world knows Israel used the excuse religion to make America their b**ch. It's the sad truth.”

On January 23, 2015, Okda tweeted: “@TrainerGloria no I don't hate jews?? They're good ppl. Zionist are not. You can defend them and blame hamas but Zionist are not good ppl.”

On January 2, 2015, Okda tweeted: “...Israel is doing is what Hitler did.”

On August 2, 2014, Okda tweeted: “CNN tarnished the media and the rest of the networks. Wake up. Israel is the evil now.”

On August 1, 2014, in a Twitter thread about Operation Protective Edge (OPE), Okda tweeted: “Calorie intake!!?? I mean what more do you want to see to know that this is a occupation and now genocide.”

Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.

On July 30, 2014, Okda tweeted: “slaughtered and killed for no reason?? This is about humanity. Israel is the evil here and the world knows that.”

That same day, Okda tweeted: “...why do you think the world is rallying behind Palestine? Cause Israel is abusing every human right in existence.”

On July 22, 2014, Okda tweeted: “I really hope ppls intentions are promoting awareness in gaza and the genocide instead of worrying about getting likes and favorites…”

Okda added: “@nyiil @cnnbrk you do realize Israelis were killing kids everyday before those three were kidnapped.”

Hamas was responsible for the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers from a bus stop on June 12, 2014. The abducted boys were murdered by their captors, and their bodies were found buried in Palestinian-controlled territory on June 30, 2014.

That same day, in response to a tweet by U.S. Congressman Joe Kennedy III that said: “Israel has every right to defend her people,” Okda tweeted: “Israel is committing genocide and he says she's ‘defending herself?’”

Also on July 9, 2014, Okda tweeted: “Arguing with Zionists and Israel supporters is a good reminder of why there is a hell.”

On February 12, 2013, Okda tweeted: “Here we go again with this supporting Israel crap. #tohellwithisrael.”

On November 19, 2012, during Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD) in Gaza, Okda tweeted: “cut Israeli supplies,” in response to a tweet that read: “What would be the ideal plan of action by President Obama to handle the situation over in Gaza?”

Israel launched OPD to stop Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli civilians from Gaza. Over the course of eight days in November 2012, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than 1,500 rockets at Israel. The majority struck Israel, damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas. Human Rights Watch noted: “Palestinian armed groups made clear in their statements that harming civilians was their aim.”

That same day, Okda tweeted: “...Zionists are the true terrorist.”

CAIR Activism

On April 9, 2019, Okda wrote on Facebook: “Guys my video is out!!! Watch it and let me know what you think!!!” 

Okda’s post featured a video posted on Facebook produced [00:03:42] by CAIR Oklahoma. CAIR Oklahoma wrote: “Hitting the Streets with Mo Basel Okda and Khalid Alzubi Discussing Islamophobia in Downtown OKC

On April 7, 2019, CAIR Oklahoma shared a photo on Facebook featuring Okda, holding a sign that read: “CAIR OKLAHOMA” and wrote: “Photo booth ready to go at our @cair_oklahoma 13th Annual Awards Banquet”

On April 6, 2019, CAIR Oklahoma wrote on Facebook: “We are excited to announce that tonight's 13th Annual Awards Banquet: Faith Driven, Justice Led is SOLD OUT! We look forward to welcoming out guests for an awesome event. Registration begins at 5 pm, program & dinner at 6 pm.”

CAIR Oklahoma’s Facebook post featured a flier for “CAIRS 13th Annual Awards Banquet: Faith Driven, Justice Led” that day, where Okda was listed as the host of the event.

The event also featured Linda Sarsour as the Keynote speaker. 


On April8, 2019, Okda wrote on Facebook: “Me and the people’s champ! — with Linda sarsour.” The post featured a photo of Okda posing with Linda Sarsour. 

On March 8, 2019, Okda was featured in photos shared on Facebook by CAIR Oklahoma at the “5th Annual Oklahoma Muslim Day at the Capitol” on March 4, 2019. One of the photos featured Okda speaking through a microphone at the event.

On November 27, 2018, CAIR Oklahoma shared photos on Facebook that featured Okda speaking at the “2018 Tulsa Gala Feat. Basheer Jones.”

CAIR

CAIR describes itself as a “grassroots civil rights and advocacy group” and “America's largest Muslim civil liberties organization, with regional offices nationwide.” Its official mission is “enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.”

CAIR reportedly has “significant ties” to the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Hamas. A number of former CAIR employees have been convicted on fraud and terrorism-related charges that resulted monetary fines, jail terms and, sometimes, deportation.

CAIR was founded in 1994 and opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook.

Marzook, who was listed as a "Specially Designated Terrorist" by the U.S. Treasury Department in 1995, is reportedly a senior member of Hamas.

In May 2007, CAIR was listed as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a U.S.-filed action against the HLF for providing funds to Hamas.

CAIR was also listed  as a terrorist entity by the United Arab Emirates, in 2014.
