Miriam Priven

Miriam Priven promoted a surprise anti-Israel divestment resolution vote at Tufts University (Tufts) on Passover Eve, 2017, that excluded many Jewish students.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Tufts (Tufts SJP) authored the resolution to further the agenda of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Priven was one of at least seven Tufts SJP activists who attended the 2017 Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) National Member Meeting (NMM) in Chicago, where Tufts SJP presented. The activists met with JVP Campaign Organizer Leila Nashashibi, and — as one Tufts SJP leader reported — learned about “Zionism, white supremacy, Israeli apartheid and human rights violations in the ongoing illegal military occupation in Palestine …”

Tufts SJP leadership cited (40:43) the presence of “many” of its activists at “a conference” the week preceding Passover Eve as the main justification for pushing the BDS vote to Passover Eve, but omitted that the conference was the JVP NMM.

On April 9, 2017, Priven attended (11:01) the Tufts student senate meeting where the BDS resolution vote was passed.

Priven is a supporter of IfNotNow, an organization focused on disruptive protest in opposition to established Jewish institutions that are supportive of Israel.

On May 22, 2027, Priven was featured in a Facebook post indicating she graduated from Tufts in 2017.
