As of April 2020, Bachman was reportedly one of the “founders of Youth Against War and Racism.”
Hatred of Israel
On April 19, 2020, Bachman was interviewed by socialist website La Lucha, as “a young Jewish activist who organized a car caravan from Baltimore to Washington, D.C., to support Palestinian-led protests against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference this year.”Bachman stated [00:00:58]: “Right now Israel is committing a really racist system of apartheid...Palestinian prisoners are really kind of on the front lines of the resistance against Israel and its apartheid policies.”
Bachman maintained [00:02:58] that “particularly to Palestinian women prisoners” are “often tortured, they’re subject to physical and sexual assault, same as many male prisoners are tortured and assaulted.”
Bachman also asserted [00:05:50] that the U.S. was using Israel as a puppet to spread imperialism and to “wreak havoc in the Middle East and on Palestinians.”
On May 14, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “F**K F**K ISRAEL (DEATH TO ISRAEL ISRAEL) F**K F**K ISRAEL (DEATH TO ISRAEL)F**K F**K ISRAEL!!! (DEATH TO ISRAEL!!)”
Also on May 14, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “Before you conflate Jews and Zionists remember: There is nothing Jewish about Israel There is nothing Jewish about genocide.”
That same day, Bachman tweeted: “Shoutout to my Arab comrades for the historical and present trauma they face at the hands of US imperialism and Israeli apartheid…”
On May 12, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “Being a Jew with chronic pain and not atrocious politics means just thinking about Israel makes me physically ill.”
On April 16, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “A two-state solution means maintaining the Israeli ethnostate and forever regulating how many refugees can be taken in. Also denying hundreds of thousands of Palestinians the right to return to their homes. No amount of safety for Jewish people will EVER excuse a 2SS (state solution).”
On April 1, 2018, Bachman tweeted that Israel was "absolutely a white supremacist state."
On the same date, Bachman tweeted: “Israel is definitely a fascist state I agree.”
On March 28, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “When Bibi dies we take shots for every time he referred to Palestinian ‘extremism’ as an excuse for Israeli apartheid.”
On March 20, 2018, Bachman tweeted two photos of herself and commented: “2014 dressed as an IDF soldier on birthright --> 2018 protesting Israeli apartheid outside aipac national conference.”
On March 5, 2018, Bachman tweeted a photo of the Neturei Karta marching with Palestinian flags and commented: “Me n some wacky rabbis who probably don’t think I’m a real Jew but hey, at least they hate Israel!”
On January 28, 2018, Bachman tweeted a photo of an ad for a self-defense business called: “Masada Tactical” and commented: “I got this flyer in the mail. The IDF collaborates with ‘over 300 police agencies, military units and corporations’ in a deadly imperialist exchange. What kind of ‘self-defense’ shoots unarmed people in the streets??”
Bachman signed an April 2018 open letter written by “young American Jews,” demanding that the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island (the Alliance) condemn the actions of the Israeli government and “divest from Birthright and cease any support for their programs.”
The letter also demanded the Alliance “discontinue or heavily modify its Shaliach Israel Emissary program to accurately reflect the violence of the occupation.”
Shaliach is a Hebrew word meaning emissary or agent. The Alliance describes their Shaliach program as a “community resource for Israel education and advocacy, working directly with children, youth, students, and adults in the different synagogues, religious schools, youth groups, and agencies throughout the Jewish community.”
On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations were instigated by Hamas on the Israeli-Gaza border. Participants declared their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”
March participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes. Rioters also made numerous attempts to breach Israel’s border fence, which caused the Israeli Defense Forces to respond with live fire.
Most of the Gazans who died between March 30 and April 6, 2018, were identified as terror operatives who were killed while carrying out terrorist attacks, rioting against IDF forces or attempting to breach the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Neturei Karta is an anti-Israel Jewish fringe group whose leader, Yisroel Dovid Weiss, was excommunicated from many Ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups for participating in a 2006 Holocaust denial conference in Iran. The group opposes Zionism on religious grounds and has called to dismantle Israel.
On January 28, 2018, Bachman tweeted a photo of an ad for a self-defense business called: “Masada Tactical” and commented: “I got this flyer in the mail. Supporting Violent Protesters
On April 2, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “A bunch of my Jewish facebook friends who claim to be pro-Palestine are posting about an antisemitic news article but haven’t mentioned Israel massacring eighteen unarmed Palestinian protestors. Time to wake up and smell the apartheid folks.”On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations were instigated by Hamas on the Israeli-Gaza border.
Agitators also threw Molotov cocktails, firebombs, shot firearms and threw rocks under the cover of smoke from burning tires.
Most of the Gazans who died between March 30 and April 6, 2018, were identified as terror operatives who were killed while carrying out terrorist attacks, rioting against IDF forces or attempting to breach the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
Bachman indicated on Facebook that she “went” to an event called: “Great Return March: Women's March on Gaza” on April 21, 2018. The event’s Facebook description said: “Women of Gaza are marching to demand their freedom and Right of Return.”
Bachman indicated on Facebook that she “went” to a Baltimore event hosted by the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), called: “Stop the killing! A day of mourning and resistance for Gaza” on May 19, 2018.
On May 16, 2018, a Hamas senior official, Salah al-Bardawil, stated that 50 out of 62 protesters killed during the May 14 Gaza border protest were Hamas operatives. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also claimed that three of its members were killed at the same protest.
The event’s Facebook page invited people to the office of the Maryland Israel Development Center to join “an action to publically (sic) honor the 116 Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli military in the past weeks fighting for the right to return to their homes.”
The event’s Facebook page also demanded “that our city and state government withdraws from all partnerships with the Israeli government.”
Bachman indicated on Facebook that she “went” to an event called: “Honor Our Martyrs: Emergency Action for Gaza” on November 17, 2018.
The event was co-hosted by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) (formerly NYC SJP), Al-Awda and Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network. Al-Awda, or The Palestinian Right to Return Coalition, advocates for BDS and the destruction of Israel.
The event’s Facebook page invited participants to “Demand an end to israeli impunity and US tax dollars that fund the IDF in committing genocide against the Palestinian people.”
On May 14, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “I see all Jews in the world as oppressed. Many many many of us are brainwashed by Zionism which is a project of the ruling class. That’s not an excuse for what Zionist Jews are doing. It’s our duty to overcome and fight it.”
On March 22, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “Zionism is a virulent project packaged and sold as a means of liberation for Jews, but it’s actually the opposite. Zionism is BAD for Jews.”
That same day she tweeted: “The Zionist antizionism=antisemitism narrative capitalizes on our very real collective memory of enslavement...that is how young Jews...cling on to Zionism.
Also on March 22, 2018, Bachman tweeted: “I got out of this trap...in a few weeks I went from not wanting to call myself an antizionist to screaming in the streets about Israeli apartheid. Bachman concluded the thread tweeting: “F**ck Zionism, join the struggle!”
On April 10, 2018, Bachman was featured in a photo from the Hopkins Tzedek Facebook group holding a sign that said: “CIA OUT OF SCHOOLS.” The photo’s caption read: “Hey hey hey! CIA! How many kids did you bomb today?!”
Bachman concluded, tweeting: “All of this is to say that Zionists produce narratives that co-opt this concept of our peoplehood by effectively communicating that we will be annihilated if we do not maintain control of a secure nation-state by any means necessary.”
After decades of demographic decline in the American Jewish community, Birthright set out “to strengthen Jewish identity, build a lasting bond with the land and people of Israel, and reinforce the solidarity of Jewish people worldwide.” The program offers “the gift of a life-changing, 10-day trip to Israel to young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 26.”
JVP’s anti-Birthright campaign was launched precisely to coincide with “the very moment that college students across America are returning to campus and registration for Birthright winter visits are underway.”
The #returnthebirthright manifesto accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” and alleged “the modern state of Israel is predicated on the ongoing erasure of Palestinians.”
The text claimed: “We reject the offer of a free trip to a state that does not represent us, a trip that is only ‘free’ because it has been paid for by the dispossession of Palestinians.”
The manifesto concluded: “And as we reject this, we commit to promoting the right to return of Palestinian refugees… Israel is not our Birthright… Return the Birthright.”
On June 22, 2017, just prior to the launch of JVP’s #returnthebirthright campaign, JVP received a $140,00 two-year grant for general support for its operations from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF).
Since 2015, JVP has received $280,000 from RBF, which has a history of supporting anti-Jewish causes, including BDS campaigns and various organizations that promote BDS campaigns throughout the United States.

Condemning Jewish Heritage Tour
In a Twitter thread on March 21, 2018, Bachman tweeted about Taglit-Birthright, the Jewish heritage tour to Israel: “We were literally racing to clothe ourselves in a symbol of colonialist slaughter...Birthright and other right wing organizations that encourage young American Jews to visit or otherwise engage with Israel really do a number on many of us.”Bachman concluded, tweeting: “All of this is to say that Zionists produce narratives that co-opt this concept of our peoplehood by effectively communicating that we will be annihilated if we do not maintain control of a secure nation-state by any means necessary.”
Return the Birthright Campaign
In September of 2017, JVP issued its #ReturntheBirthright campaign manifesto, calling on American Jews to boycott the Birthright Israel (Birthright) program. Birthright was founded by Jewish philanthropists “in 1999 to address the growing divide between young Diaspora Jewish adults and the land and people of Israel.”After decades of demographic decline in the American Jewish community, Birthright set out “to strengthen Jewish identity, build a lasting bond with the land and people of Israel, and reinforce the solidarity of Jewish people worldwide.” The program offers “the gift of a life-changing, 10-day trip to Israel to young Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 26.”
