Date: Feb. 17, 2024

Organizers: BXANTIWAR, PYM NYC, DAG, HCW4NYC

Location: Union Square, New York, NY

Event Flyer: Instagram

The Instagram post promoting the event said: "Around the globe people are standing up with us against genocide and for a free Palestine!"

“Free Palestine!” is a chant that has been described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.” In May 2025, two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., were murdered by a gunman shouting “Free Palestine!” In June 2025, one pro-Israel activist was killed and over 25 were injured in Boulder, Colorado, when a man yelling “Free Palestine!” firebombed them.

The flyer on the Instagram post said: "ARMS EMBARGO ON ISRAEL NOW! RE-INSTATE UNRWA FUNDING! LIFT THE SIEGE ON GAZA!"

The event was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The outcome of the movement's goals would result in Israel's destruction. Within hours of the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, the BDS movement renewed its call for an anti-Israel boycott.

The United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) has been infiltrated by Palestinian terrorist organizations to wage war against Israel under the guise of UN immunities.

UNRWA employs terrorists who indoctrinate children to hate Jews and kill Israelis. UNRWA facilities, schools and medical clinics are systematically used as terrorist command centers and weapons depots.

UNRWA also provided electricity to Hamas’s main data center and UNRWA employees have kidnapped and held hostage Israeli civilians.

Israel and Egypt implemented a UN-approved [pp. 39–41] joint blockade of the Gaza Strip in 2011 to stop Hamas terrorists from acquiring more sophisticated rockets. During Israel's 2023-2025 war against Hamas, Hamas went around the blockade by smuggling weaponry through tunnels under the Philadelphi corridor separating Gaza from Egypt.
