Megha Vemuri participated in four anti-Israel events in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2024. This includes one December 2024 event where she was a featured speaker.
The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.
As of May 2025, Megha Vemuri's LinkedIn profile said she was studying for a bachelor's degree in "Computer Science + Neuroscience, Linguistics" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), slated to graduate in May 2025.

One speaker at the rally led [00:07:39] the chant: "Free free Palestine! Long live Palestine! Long live the intifada! Intifada, intifada!"
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
“Free Palestine” is a chant that has been described as a "battle cry for the death of Jews.” In May 2025, two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., were murdered by a gunman shouting “Free Palestine!” In June 2025, one pro-Israel activist was killed and over 25 were injured in Boulder, Colorado, when a man yelling “Free Palestine” firebombed them.

The event was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. The outcome of the movement's goals would result in Israel's destruction. Within hours of the October 7, 2023, terror attacks, the BDS movement renewed its call for an anti-Israel boycott.
