Maysa Constandinidis
Maysa Constandinidis was preisdent of an activist group that called for Israel's destruction, expressed support for terrorists, called for intifada and spread hatred for Zionism. She also led an anti-Israel encampment and engaged in anti-Israel activism.
In 2023-2025, Constandinidis served as the president of the anti-Israel campus group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Miami University (Miami), known as MU SJP. Constandinidis is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Constandinidis' activism took place during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.
As of July 2025, Constandinidis' LinkedIn profile said she graduated from Miami with a bachelor's degree in political science, critical race theory and government in 2025.
Miami is located in Oxford, Ohio.
On January 16, 2025, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists and while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group posted [slide 1] on Instagram a pro-terror statement titled: "For 15 months, GAZA RESISTS GAZA RISES."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
The statement said [slide 6], referring to Israel: "True rest will only come following the complete dismantlement of the zionist occupation and the complete liberation of Palestine, from the River to the Sea."
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
On January 16, 2025, while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group posted [slide 1] on Instagram a pro-terror statement titled: "For 15 months, GAZA RESISTS GAZA RISES."
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and antisemitic violence.
The statement said [slide 3]: "...this ceasefire is a direct result of...the Palestinian resistance...It is because of the resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, and the wider region that continued to act as support fronts to Gaza."
The Axis of Resistance is an informal coalition of Iran-backed paramilitary actors in the Middle East created in the 1980s. The network includes Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Shiite militia groups in Iraq and Syria. Axis members receive arms, military training and financial aid from Tehran. The group participated in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, supported Syria's Assad regime and perpetrated numerous acts of terrorism in the region.
The statement also referred [slide 2] to Israel as a "barbaric zionist entity" and called [slide 5] for "the end of zionist normalization from our campuses."
Also on January 16, 2025, Constandinidis posted on Instagram: "Until Liberation
."
The watermelon has been appropriated by terrorists and anti-Israel activists as a symbol of Palestinian "resistance" to "Israeli occupation," as it shares the Pan-Arab colors. It gained widespread popularity and usage following the Hamas terror attacks of October 7, 2023.
On March 8, 2024, MU SJP posted [slide 7] on Instagram a photo of terrorist Leila Khaled.
Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.
On March 1, 2025, while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group posted on Instagram an announcement about "Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW)," titled: "THE STUDENT INTIFADA: THE NEW GENERATION."
On the same date, Constandinidis commented on the post: "No justice, no peace."
The term “intifada” translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection” and carries the connotation of terrorist violence, including suicide bombings, hijackings, shootings and stabbings.
Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is presented internationally as a “series of events that seeks to raise awareness of…Israel’s settler-colonial project and apartheid system over the Palestinian people.” One of its goals is to build support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. IAW has been renamed Palestine Awareness Week.
On April 19, 2024, while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group posted [slide 2] on Instagram a photo of a sign that said: "ZIONISM IS FASCISM."
On the same date, Constandinidis commented on the post: "WE WILL NEVER BE SILENT
."
On April 20, 2024, while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group reportedly organized a "walkout in solidarity" with students who had been arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at Columbia University (Columbia).
Nearly 200 anti-Israel college encampments were set up in North America in spring 2024. Activists harassed Jews with antisemitic slurs, expressed their support [00:02:45] for Hamas terrorism and called [00:04:45] for Israel's destruction. They blocked Jews from campus facilities and limited access to those with special wristbands or who said they weren't a Zionist.
Constandinidis wrote a statement for the Columbia Spectator that said: "The ongoing tragedy of the Palestinian genocide demands our voices, and we will not be silenced until it ceases and the right of return occurs.”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
On May 2, 2024, MU SJP reportedly organized an anti-Israel rally and set up an encampment on Miami's campus. At the rally, Constandinidis addressed the crowd of roughly 50 attendees as the president of MU SJP before leading the march across campus.
The encampment was also in support of the BDS movement.
On November 6, 2023, while Constandinidis was the president of MU SJP, the group on Instagram a video from an anti-Israel rally held on November 4, 2023, in Washington D.C., featuring [00:00:48] Constandinidis. She commented on the post: "So freaking proud of us! No words to express everything I'm feeling. It was a life changing experience and one for the books
."
On May 17, 2024, MU SJP was listed as a collaborator on an Instagram post featuring photos from a "Nakba Day protest." Protestors held a large banner that said [slide 1]: "RESISTANCE 'TILL RETURN."
Anti-Israel activists and Palestinians commemorate what they call “Nakba Day” on May 15, corresponding to the day following Israel’s declaration of statehood in 1948. Palestinians coined the term "nakba," Arabic for "catastrophe,” to draw a comparison with the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
In October 2024, MU SJP organized a "Week of Rage" to protest against Israel following the anniversary of Hamas' October 7, 2023 terror attack on Israel.
National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) promoted a "Week of Rage" that took place on campuses across the U.S. and Canada during the week of October 7-11, 2024. SJP chapters across North America held anti-Israel events on the anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. On October 14, 2024, NSJP said on Instagram regarding the "Week of Rage": "We rise on our campuses...to confront Zionism and US empire in every way we can...the masses of the Arab world will extract Zionism from their land and defeat imperialism."
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
