Maulik Smith

As of December 2022, Smith used the name “Zamar A Israel” on Facebook and Soundcloud. As of June 2023, Smith used the handle “@Gumbomusic_” on Instagram and “@gumbomusic” on TikTok. As of the same date, Smith went by the username “Gumbo” and the handle “@ThaGr8Gumbino” on Twitter.

Anti-Semitism

On May 28, 2018, Maulik posted on Facebook: “The most high knew that there would be those who would say they are Jews but are NOT! The so called ‘Je-Wish.’ The Truth is coming out.”
 
Maulik went on to quote a verse from the New Testament, Revelation 2:9, that read:“I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy (lies) of them which say they are Jews (Jewish), and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” BHI’s base their ideology on the verse.
 
On April 22, 2019, Smith posted on Facebook: “Casting down imaginations all day!!!”commenting on a video that featured a IUIC leader telling [00:00:16] a Jewish man “Being a Jew and being Jewish are two different things. You’re Jewish, you are white. You’re caucasians, you’re red not white but you’re red. We (blacks) are from the seed of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.”

On February 12, 2022, Smith shared a rap video on Facebook that was captioned: “JEWISH MAN SAID ‘WHOOPI’ when they kicked her to the curv she got jackhammered and speared by the real Goldberg FALSE VIEWS BY PALE HUES AND FAKE JEWS ITS Never SUNNY NOR JOY WHEN THEY ACCUSED YOUWHOOPIE APOLOGIZE WHEN THE YIDDISH BOYS CRIED A FEBRUARY TRUTH SUBDUED BY A JULY THEY CANT BEERUS TRYTO DESTROY US LIKE HAKAI SEMETICS IN MY GENETICS I CAN NEVER BE ANTI LETS BE REAL JEWISH PEOPLE ARE VERY RACIST THEY SEPARATE FROM ALL AND CALL YOU NI**A IN YOUR FACES.”

On January 31, 2022, actress Whoopi Goldberg, who is co-host on ABC’s The View talk show, said [00:04:44]: “The Holocaust isn’t about race” because it involved [00:05:09] “two white groups of people.” Goldberg issued a public apology shortly after and was suspended from The View for two weeks following public outrage.

Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories

On March 12, 2019, Smith posted on Facebook: “If you have an ear, PLEASE HEAR!!!!!” 

The post linked to a video that said [00:00:01]: “If you’re the real Israelites, who are these people over there in the Land of Israel claiming to be you? Those are Romans, Europeans. They got pushed up in the south Georgia, Russia, in the Caucusus mountains and hid themselves under the name of Khazars.” 

The “Khazar myth” refers to the assertion that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the ancient Israelites but instead from the Khazar people, whose ruling class was said to have converted to Judaism. Ashkenazi Jews originate from an ancient Jewish community in the Middle East, whose descendants settled in Europe. The Khazar myth is used [00:02:16] to deny Jews’ connection to the Land of Israel.

In the same video that Smith shared, the narrator asserted[00:00:35] that the “so-called Holocaust which was politically motivated the elite used that as a pretext to invade the land of Israel and took those Khazarian converts and placed them in that land in 1948.”

Later in the video, the narrator said[00:03:06]: “These are the same exact people that funded your transatlantic slave trade, yes the same Jewish man, the same Romans. These are the same people that’s responsible for your 400-year short span black history curriculum.” 

The claim that Jews were dominant in the transatlantic slave trade was propagated in a book published by the Nation of Islam titled: “The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews.” The book has been discredited in a work titled: “Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight,” by John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor of history, Eli Faber.

The narrator concluded [00:03:23] the video by saying: “These are the same exact people that control the media outlets and push rap music on the whole black community and support it and push it on the forefront. The same exact people. They control all the media.” 

At the same time, text appeared on the video that said [00:03:29]: “Used by elite to influence Millions in the Black Community” and “Through Rap we can make them kill each other, think it's ok to join gangs, sell drugs and hate their own women. We don't have to do anything but sit back and watch.”

The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world. 

On August 31, 2017, Smith posted on Facebook: “Jews and ‘Jewish’ are NOT the same... ask yourself. Have you ever that the Jewish controls the media broadcasting. Oh you didn't know? Yea, we don't have no shows with married black folk in love. Yea wack sitcoms by a man dressed in a woman's dress don't count! (That's a sin btw) I'm talking like shows like Power, empire, Game of thrones... etc but we all watch that! Jewish are NOT THE REAL JEWS! Wake up! They control what we watch!”

Justifying Anti-Semitism

On July 14, 2022, Smith shared a post on Facebook that said: “Nick Cannon has joined the long list of other ‘#Black’ #celebrities who have admitted our true identity and now are being subject to being labeled #AntiSemitic. We are the #trueJews and #truth won’t stop coming out of the #earth! The jig is up #Esau. Your Charade has come to an end!
#Black.” 
 
In July 2020, television star Nick Cannon was fired by ViacomCBS after he made anti-Semitic comments on his podcast, for which he later apologized. Cannon reportedly promoted various anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, including the claim that Jewish people control the media. Cannon also reportedly suggested that Jewish people were not real Jews and that African Americans were “the true Hebrews.”

On October 21, 2022, Smith shared a post on Facebook that said: “Kanye is fighting The illuminati in our faces and we bashing him.” Smith commented on the post: “Facts.” 

In the fall of 2022, American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, sparked controversy after tweeting that he would go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” Ye also promoted [00:01:02, 00:04:37] anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and argued he was not anti-Semitic because “black people are actually Jew also.” In the wake of his remarks, Ye lost brand deals with companies such as Adidas, Gap and Foot Locker.

On October 29, 2022, Smith shared a post on Facebook that said: “If y'all not connecting the dots with Kanye and now kyrie Irving,your mind still in the plantation ....” Smith commented on the post saying: “Watching the Lord plant seeds is amazing.”

In October 2022, NBA player Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets promoted on Twitter the film, “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.” The 2018 film called the death of six million Jews during the Holocaust as one of five fundamental lies invented by the Jews. In November 2022, the Nets suspended Irving for several weeks. In December 2022, Nike terminated its sponsorship deal with him.

On November 1, 2022, Smith posted on Facebook: “Another rapper dead and the ‘Jewish’ just got paid off of it. Ye was right.”
