Marjina Haque
Marjina Haque expressed support for Hamas and engaged in pro-terror activism as the president of the Students For Justice In Palestine (SJP) chapter at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN), known as SJP at CSUN.
Marjina Haque is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
On November 13, 2023, CSUN's student newspaper, The Daily Sundial, reported that Haque was the "Founder and president of SJP" and that "SJP had not been active since 2014, but when Haque transferred from community college last year, she decided to restart CSUN’s SJP chapter."
On August 21, 2024, Tía Chucha's Centro Cultural posted a photo of Haque with a caption that said Haque "is a member of the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at CSUN."
On October 9, 2023, while Haque was the SJP at CSUN president, the group posted images on Instagram, including one that promoted a protest and said [slide 1]: "We'll be hosting this as part of a national day of action in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their resistance in Gaza <3."
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Many Palestinian civilians participated in and supported the attacks, and Gazans working in the targeted Israeli communities gave intelligence to Hamas on where to strike.
For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
The same SJP at CSUN graphic [slide 1] featured a cartoon of Hamas paragliders and post also included a graphic by the that said [slide 3]: "In the last several days, we have witnessed the active decolonization of Palestinian land led by the Palestinian resistance. ON OCTOBER 7TH, GAZA BROKE FREE..."
In the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack on Israel, numerous terrorists infiltrated into Israel in motorized paragliders. Hamas terrorists descended in gliders on the Nova Music Festival, where they slaughtered over 360 unarmed young men and women. In the wake of the atrocities, images of Hamas militants on paragliders served to symbolize and glorify the deadly attacks.
On February 23, 2024, Haque posted photos on Instagram of stickers she designed for SJP at CSUN. One of the stickers was of a skateboarder with a keffiyeh covering their face and read: "when people are occupied RESISTANCE IS JUSTIFIED."
The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It was first used by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks to signify an Israeli target.
Another sticker Haque designed read: "I'VE GOT A TWO STATE SOLUTION FOR YOU... / MY FOOT AND YOUR A**!" with an inverted red triangle below the second line.
On October 13, 2024, SJP at CSUN posted a statement on Instagram that said they call on the "student body and faculty to visually and vocally express their support for the Palestinian people as they continue to resist...When people are occupied, resistance is justified. We affirm and urge people to...realize that the existence of the zionist state is not peaceful; there is no 'maintaining the peace.'"
On May 5, 2024, SJP at CSUN collaborated on a pro-terror Instagram post with another BDS group in promoting a "CSU WIDE DAY OF ACTION" and demanding CSU to divest from companies connected to Israel. The post [slide 1] featured a 1978 poster of a woman holding a gun and dove.
On March 6, 2024, SJP at CSUN posted a live video on Instagram from their "Walkout for Palestine - CSUN DIVEST NOW!" event. Haque spoke on stage and called [00:00:07] to "permanently cancel the CSU's contract with the University of Haifa in occupied Palestine." is a city in northern Israel.
Haque concluded [00:01:03]: "We urge you to work with us to ensure that brick by brick we will dismantle the academic support for the Zionist state and aid the Palestinian liberation to total victory!"
On March 7, 2024, Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) - Los Angeles posted images on Instagram about the SJP walkout. Haque led [slide 5] protesters in chanting [00:00:02]: "Long live the intifada!"
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On March 8, 2024, The Sundial posted a video on Instagram covering the SJP walkout. Haque led [00:01:44] the protest through the CSUN campus while leading the chants and she was interviewed [00:01:52] and identified as the "SJP President." She wore a keffiyeh black mask and a bright pink rain jacket with the hood over her head.
On October 24, 2023, SJP at CSUN posted images on Instagram with a promotion for a walkout they hosted on October 25, 2023.
The post included a graphic [slide 1] that featured a man wearing a keffiyeh with a gun strapped to his back and another man with a keffiyeh covering his face, shooting a rock with a slingshot, which was a photo from the first intifada. The same slide accused Israel of a "GENOCIDE" in its war against Hamas.
The post [slide 3] further called for CSUN to divest from Israel.
On January 23, 2024, The Daily Sundial published an article quoting Haque's comments on "a two-state solution" saying: "“It’s an insult to the plight of the Palestinian people to look at their conditions under this military occupation and think that a two-state solution meets their demands or needs..."
The two-state solution envisions a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by dividing the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea into an Israeli Jewish state and a Palestinian Arab state.
On January 28, 2024, SJP at CSUN was a collaborator on an Instagram post calling for the CSU Board of Trustees to divest from Israel.
SJP is the leading student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses. The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian, who has spread anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campus campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks and pushing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, and SJP chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for terrorists.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by pro-terror activist Omar Barghouti in 2005 to turn “Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.” Barghouti has also called for Israel's destruction and the BDS movement demands would result in that same goal.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been infiltrating university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments propose resolutions to boycott or divestment from Israel or Israeli-affiliated entities. BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents and pro-terror activism on campus.
