Malek Mustafa
Overview
Malek Mustafa vandalized a university display, expressed a violent hatred of Israel, minimized Hamas terrorism and demonized Israel.Mustafa is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
In October 2019, Mustafa indicated on Twitter that he was a student at Columbus State Community College (CSCC) in Columbus, Ohio.
Vandalizing a University Display
On November 30, 2019, Mustafa featured in a video posted by the Twitter account, BDS Report. In the video, Mustafa cut down [00:00:00] an Israeli flag from a CSCC display and placed it in the trash.The tweet read: “Malek Mustafa destroyed an Israeli flag and vandalized Columbus State Community College @cscc_edu Expose this anti-Semitic student and demand the college hold him accountable for his actions.”
Violent Hatred of Israel
On July 30, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “She makes me wanna go to Palestine and slap a b**ch a** soldier.” The tweet was in response to a tweet about the release of Ahed Tamimi.On October 9, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “I hate seeing vids of people riping trump sings and being f**king childish as hell and trying to silence people's freedom of expression....With that being said if i ever see a motherf**ker holding an isreal sign he's ganna catch this smoke.”
On November 12, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “Part of me cant wait to live my life like a normal person married and w a job and the other part just wants the third intifada to start and die throwing rocks and burning tiers on some gangster s**t.”
On September 3, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “Ive always wanted to burn a israel flag but that would require me to buy an israel flag and that makes me gag.”
Minimizing Hamas Terrorism
On March 26, 2019, Mustafa tweeted: “Quick reminder that 90% of Palestinian missiles never touch the ground. Plz be smarter than to fall for this dumba** propaganda.”On March 25, 2019, a rocket launched from Gaza by Hamas destroyed a home in Mishmeret, Israel.
Mustafa’s tweet was in response to another tweet that read: “Life in Southern Israel: Watch as Israeli girl records herself in re-enforced room as rocket launched by terrorists in Gaza explodes nearby.”
Demonizing Israel
On March 6, 2019, Mustafa tweeted: “Next time someone says ‘israel’ to my face knowing damn well im Palestinian im making a scene.”On February 4, 2019, Mustafa tweeted: “Sorry but i could not be friends w an israeli... Idk how you can just excuse their support of our direct oppressors.”
On December 29, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “And what the f**k is isra*l doing for the united states other than taking billions every year to commit genocide with??? u hypocritical, idiot.”
On October 30, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “Just a quick reminder that according to the Torah isreal should not be a country until the massiah comes. (they belive he hasnt) so isreal existing is against Jewish faith. Wich is y we get those amazing pictures of jews burning the isreali flag.”
Mustafa added a photo of anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Jews burning an Israeli flag and wrote: “
On September 7, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “Exactly y im tryna find an israeli flag so i can show that lol.”
The tweet was in response to a tweet that read: “U gotta have a overflowing hate in your heart to burn something in protest. shoes, cross, flag or effigy. Like an engulfing, incapacitating, overwhelmingly strong hate. In yo heart.”
On September 2, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “One of my biggest f**king pet peeves is ANYONE saying that any part of Palestine should or should have ever been called isreal... YOU CANT JUST F**KING SPLIT A COUNTRY IN HALF YOU F**KING DUMBA**ES.”
On August 6, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “No one understands how deep my hatred for isreal is.”
On July 20, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “F**k peace w israel. We don't wnat peace. We want freedom.”
On January 1, 2018, Mustafa tweeted: “The United States has foolishly given israel more than 38 billion dollars in aid over the next 10 years, and they have given us nothing but lies and trouble. They have time and time again commited terrorists attacks with American weapons.”
BDS Support

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
