Makan Ceesay
Makan Ceesay attacked a bystander while ripping down posters meant to raise awareness of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and held hostage in Gaza. The November 2023 incident occurred in New York City, where Ceesay is a university student.
Hamas kidnapped the civilians, including women and children, during a series of terror attacks and war crimes that left about 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
Hamas executed the terror attacks on October 7, 2023 and their other war crimes included mass murder, torture, rape and beheadings.
Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

As of November 2023, Ceesay’s now-deleted LinkedIn profile said he had been studying for a bachelor's degree in “Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia” from Baruch College (Baruch), part of the City University of New York (CUNY), since 2021, and was slated to graduate in 2024.
As of November 11, 2023, Ceesay had reportedly been a manager at Komune in New York, New York, from May to October 2023.
Ceesay also reportedly attended State University of New York at Oswego (SUNY Oswego), where he studied marketing in 2020.
