Mafaz Al-Suwaidan

Mafaz Al-Suwaidan spread hatred of Israel, including during a war with Hamas in late 2023. Al-Suwaidan has also expressed support for terrorists, promoted anti-Israel agitators, engaged in anti-Israel activism and is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Al-Suwaidan’s hatred of Israel in late 2023 occurred following a series of Hamas terror atrocities and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.

The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 7] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

In 2018 and 2019, Al-Suwaidan was an activist with the Palestine Solidarity Committee (PSC) at Harvard College (Harvard PSC). PSC is an alternative name for Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

Al-Suwaidan was the 2009-2010 president of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) chapter at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), formerly known as Ryerson University (Ryerson). In 2015, she was affiliated with the MSA chapter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

As of December 2023, Al-Suwaidan was listed online as a PhD candidate in philosophy of religion focused on Islam and modern thought, with a secondary degree in African and African American studies at Harvard University (Harvard).

As of the same date, Al-Suwaidan’s LinkedIn said she had been a teaching fellow at Harvard since September 2020 and a part-time lecturer at Northeastern University (NU) in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, since January 2023.

Al-Suwaidan’s LinkedIn said she interned for “Inside Story” at Al Jazeera English from September to October 2010 and that she graduated from Harvard Divinity School (HDS) with a “Master of Theological Studies - MTS, Islamic Studies” in 2018. Her LinkedIn said she graduated from Emerson College (Emerson) with a master’s degree in creative writing in 2016 and from Ryerson with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2011.

Al-Suwaidan is the daughter of Tareq Al-Suwaidan.

Tareq Al-Suwaidan is a Kuwaiti leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who has denied the Holocaust, called [00:00:11] for the eradication of Israel, expressed support for Hamas and praised terrorists during the 2015 “Knife Intifada” in Israel.

In 2009, Al-Suwaidan published a book titled: “The Jews: The Illustrated Encyclopedia” where he reportedly spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and claimed that the Nazis killed only 20,000 Jewish people. Al-Suwaidan said he wrote the book to “prove with evidence that the Jewish faith, which was falsified, encourages them to betray and deceive.”

In an August 15, 2022 YouTube video Al-Suwaidan reportedly praised his daughter’s anti-Israel activism on a college campus, saying: “...my daughter, Mafaz, is now at Harvard University, in Boston. She is the most committed person to the Palestinian cause…she is very active, and young [Arabs] in the West — in Europe or America — can collaborate. This is the first thing you should do, collaborate among yourselves in organizing activities and establishing lobbies.”

As of December 2023, Al-Suwaidan’s Twitter bio said she was an “Academic, Writer, and Creative — Interested in all that makes us human.” Her personal website said she was a senior producer and writer for a series of short documentary films called “American Muslims.” She also used the handle “@stumblingseeker” on Instagram.
