Lubna Ockeh

Overview

Lubna Ockeh has expressed violent hatred of Jews and Israel supporters, called for Israel’s destruction, whitewashed terrorism and glorified terrorists. Ockeh has also compared Jews to Nazis, promoted incitement, spread hatred of Israelis and Israel and demonized Zionists.

Ockeh is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In March 2015, Ockeh indicated on Twitter that she was the Vice President of the Muslim Student Association (MSA).

In December 2015, Ockeh indicated on Twitter that she was affiliated with the Muslim American Society (MAS) - Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

As of August 2021, Ockeh’s Facebook page said she was a medical student at All Saints University School of Medicine, Dominica (ASUDOM) since 2018. Also as of August 2021, Ockeh’s Facebook page said she was located in Chicago, Illinois.

As of the same date, Ockeh’s alternate Facebook page said she had studied at Mercy College.

As of August 2021, Ockeh used the handle “willietoddkolza” on Instagram.

Violent Hatred of Jews and Israel Supporters

On July 15, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Khaybar khaybar ya yahewd ! [Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning].”

Khaybar Khaybar, ya yahud, Jaish Muhammad, soufa ya'oud [Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning]” is a chant recalling the early seventh-century Battle of Khaybar. At Khaybar, Muhammad and his followers massacred the Jews of that town and enslaved the surviving women as “wives.” The chant is often heard at anti-Israel rallies in the United States.

Also, on July 15, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Khaybar Khaybar ya Yahud Jaysh Mohammed saya’ud. [Remember the massacre of Khaybar Khaybar, oh Jews . Mohammad's army will come back [and will slaughter you]”

On July 28, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “I hope hell is bestowed upon each supporter of Israel! May you die a terrible death .Our kids our blood is being wasted as if not precious.”

On July 31, 2014, Ockeh tweeted a graphic that depicted a masked Palestinian militant with a hangman’s noose, about to hang then-Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on a tree. The caption on the graphic read: “execution coming soon…” Ockeh wrote: “Sooner than they realize !”

Calling for Israel’s Destruction

On June 24, 2014, Ockeh tweeted a quote ascribed to the former Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat that read: “We plan to eliminate the state of Israel and establish a purely Palestinian state. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion. We Palestinians will take over everything, including all of Jerusalem. By yasser Arafat.”

On July 27, 2014, Ockeh tweeted a graphic of “A much needed button” on a keyboard that read: “Delete Israel.”

On August 4, 2014, Ockeh tweeted a photo of Yasser Arafat and wrote: “I am Palestinian Abbas [Mahmoud Abbas] does not represent us !”

The photo of Arafat featured a caption that read: “The victory will continue until the Palestinian flag flies in Jerusalem and in all of Palestine.”

Yasser Arafat was the former leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and is known by some as the “father of modern terrorism.” Under Arafat, the goal of the PLO was the violent destruction of Israel.

Whitewashing Hamas Terrorism

On July 28, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “If anyone has the audacity to say Hamas threw the rocket by mistake then your an a**hole from hell. Wake up haven't you seen the lies !”

Ockeh’s tweet referred to a misfired rocket by Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) that landed inside Gaza near the Shifa hospital that day. Ockeh claimed in another tweet that same day that Israel had fired the rocket..

Hamas fired rockets from Shifa Hospital (Shifa) at Israeli population centers during Operation Protective Edge. Hamas misfires also struck Shifa and the nearby al-Shati refugee camp. Hamas cleanup crews then concealed the evidence of the misfires, as was confirmed by Amnesty International and an independent Italian journalist.

On July 26, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Not a shock at all that Hamas did NOT kill the 3 teens!”

In August 2014, Hamas admitted responsibility for the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers at a bus stop on June 12th of that year. The bodies of the abducted boys were found buried in Palestinian-controlled territory on June 30, 2014.

On July 21, 2014, Ockeh tweeted that Hamas “using kids as shields” was “Bull s**t all lies.”

Throughout the summer of 2014 — during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) — Hamas's deployment of human shields was extensively documented and publicized. Hamas encouraged Gazans to act as human shields to frustrate Israeli efforts to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza.

In January 2017, Ockeh retweeted on multiple occasions tweets lobbying then-U.S. President Barack Obama during his last days in office to “#FreeTheHLF5.”

The HLF5 were five individuals associated with the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) indicted for funnelling funds to Hamas in the guise of humanitarian aid.

The men were were all convicted and sentenced in 2009 to federal prison terms ranging from 15 to 65 years.

Glorifying Terrorists

On November 24, 2015, Ockeh tweeted: “Our beloved imam Qatanani's niece passed away from an attack by Israel . Whose the real terrorist ?????”

On November 22, 2015, during Israel’s “Knife Intifada,” Ashraqat Taha Qatanani was run over and shot during her attempt to stab ‎an Israeli woman. According to the Donia Al-Watan Palestinian newspaper, Qatanani died as “a Martyr as ‎she wished.”

Ockeh retweeted an October 12, 2015 tweet that read: “They killed him cold blooded without any reason our young 14 year old. Life under occuption!! #intifadaAlAqsa.”

The tweet featured a photo of Ahmed Manasra lying on the floor.

Ahmed Manasra (sometimes spelled Mansara) and his 15-year-old cousin Hassan went on a stabbing spree in Jerusalem on October 12, 2015, during the Knife Intifada. They critically wounded a 13-year-old boy and moderately wounded a 25-year-old man. The spree ended when police shot Hassan and a passing motorist hit Ahmed. Ahmed was taken to an Israeli hospital. He admitted to investigators: “I went there to stab Jews.” He was later tried and convicted on two counts of attempted murder.

Comparing Jews to Nazis

On July 8, 2014, Ockeh tweeted a quote misattributed to Albert Einstein, that read: “It would be my greatest sadness to see Zionists (Jews) do to Palestinian Arabs much of what Nazis did to Jews. Albert Einstein.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

Promoting Incitement

On October 13, 2015, during the Knife Intifada, Ockeh tweeted: “27 Palestinians killed and 1400 injured just in the last two Weeks ! #boycottIsrael #intifadaAlAqsa # القدس #فلسطين_تنتفض #انتفاضه_القدس.
[#al-Quds [Jerusalem]. rises up- makes intifada#Palestine rises up.]”

In October 2015, there was an upsurge in violence across Israel incited by Palestinian political and religious leaders. The wave of stabbings, known as the “Knife Intifada,” was characterized by young Palestinians throughout the country stabbing and attempting to stab Israeli civilians. The attacks were incited by Palestinian leaders propagating the libel that Israel intended to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

On October 10, 2015, Ockeh tweeted: “They threw pig intestine on a dead martyr body ! Ofcoutce what do you expect from disgusting Israelis #FreePalestine #Gaza_Under_Attack.”

On June 4, 2015, Ockeh tweeted: “They attacked Gaza again ! Is this new custom b4 every Ramadan ? Isn't it enough what they did last Ramadan . How many millions this time.”

In June 2015, Israel restricted the entry of Gazans into Jerusalem during the month of Ramadan, which led to an uptick in Palestinian terrorism. Israel imposed the restrictions following a series of rocket attacks from Gaza, which violated a 2014 truce between Israel and Hamas.

On October 30, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Allah yehmekey ya Aqsa ! [May Allah protect you Al-Aqsa!’ Please make duaa [pray] for the Palestinians on this hard day .”

In the fall of 2014, Palestinian leaders and media incited a wave of violence against Israelis with the lie that Israel intended to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. This resulted in the November 18, 2014 Har Nof massacre, in which terrorists murdered six people in a Jerusalem synagogue during morning prayers.

On October 13, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Pray for Al aqsa . Today the terrorist Israeli groups is attacking the beloved Mosque and forcing the worshippers out.”

Hatred of Israelis

On July 10, 2014,during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in Gaza, Ockeh tweeted: “We have reached a point where animals are more caring than human beings . Israelis are not animals . Animals have a souls . Israelis don't !”

Israel commenced OPE in July 2014 to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.

On July 17, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Allah yentaqem menkom [Allah will take revenge on you]. I promise you Israelis will have there day in hell Palestine will be free !And we will get back what is rightly ours.”

On August 4, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “My heart is destroyed no words can explain how disgusted I am from the Israelis and everyone that's supports them! Enough ! #FreePalestine.”

On August 8, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “May the Gazan people prevail all the abhorrent Israelis !”

Hatred of Israel

On July 30, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Israel doesn't know the essence of the word peace . They are inhumane . The worst part is United States is refusing to acknowledge this.”

On May 15, 2015, Ockeh tweeted: “On May 15th, Palestinians commemorate the ethnic cleansing of Palestine which enabled the creation of Israeli on our stolen land. #NakbaDay.”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

On May 6, 2019, Ockeh shared a tweet by U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, that read: “How many more protesters must be shot, rockets must be fired, and little kids must be killed until the endless cycle of violence ends? The status quo of occupation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unsustainable. Only real justice can bring about security and lasting peace.”

Ilhan Omar was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2018. In February 2019, top Congressional leaders denounced Omar for tweeting anti-Semitic remarks.

Omar’s tweet referred to March of Return protesters.

On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The March of Return was organized and funded by Hamas as a campaign of violent protests along Israel’s border to spotlight the demand of Palestinians to “return” to Israel.

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel.

The violent riots during the “March of Return” continued into 2019 and included armed protesters using gunfire, penetrating Israeli territory, launching incendiary kites into Israel and throwing IEDs, hand grenades and Molotov cocktails. Some of the attacks were carried out by Hamas operatives.

Ockeh retweeted a May 6, 2021 tweet that read: “Instagram is currently deleting posts being shared about the attacks against Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah. Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, censoring all forms of free speech having to do with Palestine. Where’s the cancel culture folks now?”

In May 2021, Palestinian violence erupted in anticipation of an Israel High Court ruling on eviction proceedings concerning over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

Ockeh retweeted a March 16, 2021 tweet by IfNotNow (INN) that read: “18 years ago toady, the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] killed US activist Rachel Corrie in Gaza. They ran over her with a bulldozer while she was protecting a home from demolition. Shamefully, home demolitions in Palestine continue, but Rachel’s memory also continues to be a blessing and an inspiration.”

RCF was created to honor the memory of Rachel Corrie, a former International Solidarity Movement (ISM) member who was accidentally killed while interfering with an Israeli military operation in 2003 during the Second Intifada. A wrongful death suit brought by Corrie’s family was dismissed when the judge ruled that Corrie unreasonably chose to put her own life in danger.

DemonizingZionists

On August 29, 2015, Ockeh tweeted: “The Zionist are the terrorist of this world and America is supplying them . Making the U.S also terrorist #zionism #IsraelBurnBabies.”

On August 20, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “To all Zionist bastards reduce the risk threw genocide threw killing all our kids family ?”

On July 21, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “This high school taught me so much about how much Zionist have hatred toward the Palestinians . U fagots know who u r.”

On July 16, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “I urge you to refrain from arguing with the Zionist . We speak from our hearts they speak from there brains .”

On July 5, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Ya Allah we are asking you to give our ummah [Muslim nation] the victory over the Zionist and the supports of them.”

On June 24, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “‘The Israeli regime is a tool in the hands of Zionists to control the Middle-East and the entire world. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.”

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a notorious anti-Semite and Holocaust denier.

Supporting BDS

On August 3, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “Get the ‘buycott’ app which allows u to scan items to see if they are part of the Israeli boycott.#FreePalestine #FreeGaza #GazaUnderAttack.”

On July 18, 2014, Ockeh tweeted: “It's extremely disturbing to know that my dad's tax money is what's killing the people in Israel . Disappointed to call my self an American.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations."

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
