Laila Ali
Overview
Laila Ali was fired from her job after ripping down a poster raising awareness of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and held hostage in Gaza. Ali, a healthcare worker, carried out the December 2023 incident in Chicago, Illinois.Hamas kidnapped the civilians, including women, children and the elderly, during a series of terror atrocities and war crimes that left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Hamas executed the terror attacks on October 7, 2023.
Other Hamas war crimes included mass murder, torture, rape and beheadings. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.
Fired for Ripping Down a Poster of Kidnapped Israelis
On December 29, 2023, Ali was filmed ripping down a poster of an Israeli civilian [00:00:16] kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. The incident reportedly occurred in Chicago.When the person recording the incident on camera confronted Ali and asked repeatedly why Ali was ripping down the poster, Ali ignored the questions and continued tearing the poster down.
As Ali walked away from the scene with the ripped-down poster in hand, Ali gave [00:00:16] a middle finger to the individual filming the incident.
On the same day of the incident, Ali tweeted: “i was tearing down an kidnapped by israel poster in fulton and these white women started questioning me and recording me wtffffffrrr [what the f**k, for real].” Fulton is a Chicago neighborhood.
On January 4, 2024, Ali’s employer, Mindful Care mental health clinic in Chicago, released a statement mentioning the poster-ripping incident and confirming: “...the employee is no longer with our organization.”

As of January 3, 2024, Ali’s since-deleted LinkedIn profile said Ali was a patient coordinator at Mindful Care mental health clinic in Chicago.As of the same date, Ali’s LinkedIn also said Ali was a medical administrator at Joy Center in Chicago.
As of January 7, 2024, Ali’s Twitter bio said Ali was a “singer/songwriter” living in Chicago.
