Kimberly Hawkins

Overview

Kimberly Hawkins gained notoriety in 2020 for stating that Zionists were not welcome in her restaurant. Hawkins has also promoted a terrorist and spread anti-Semitism, as well as anti-Israel conspiracy theories and hatred of Israel.

Hawkins has also spread hatred of Zionists, expressed support for anti-Israel agitators, is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Movement (BDS) and participated in anti-Israel activity. She has also displayed a violent hatred for police officers.

According to her LinkedIn page, Hawkins has owned Foodbenders since April, 2013.

As of July, 2020, Hawkins used the name “Kimberly Lauren” on Facebook

Restaurant Controversy

In June 2020, Hawkins used her Toronto, Canada-based restaurant's Instagram page to spread hatred of Israel and supporters of Israel.

On June 6, 2020, Hawkins posted a photo to her restaurant’s Instagram page of the restaurant’s front window, emblazoned with: “I 💗Gaza.” The caption read: “Open now - 8pm for non-racist shoppers. 🖤 #bloordale #bloorstreet #toronto #open #ftp #freepalestine🇵🇸 #zionistsnotwelcome.”

A media firestorm ensued and Hawkins defended her social media posts, stating: “I think that businesses have to get political because we’re at a stage in our capitalism where we’re headed on the path of destruction." She went on to say: “I believe food is very political and I just don't see a future for us if we continue to maintain the status quo."

Following the controversy, food delivery services UberEats, Ritual and DoorDash severed ties with Foodbenders, as did Square payment processing and Ambrosia Natural Foods.

On June 26, 2020, Hawkins posted a video to Foodbenders’Instagram of a reporter from “Rebel News” who came to confront her about her comments. Hawkins commented on the video: “He’s gone now. Though he did not have a scheduled appointment with me, I’m glad he was able to catch me saying Israel is a terrorist state the [sic] kills little babies for his audience. They need to hear it. #defundisrael #bds #f**kthepolice #f**kracism #kkkanada.”

On July 16, 2020, Hawkins issued a “media statement” about the ongoing controversy, where she said: “I firmly believe silence is violence” and that she used her company’s social media and storefront window to be “vocal about issues” and “most notably about the Great March of Return, Gaza and Israeli occupation.”  She also used her company’s platform to post about “about the Great March of Return, Gaza and Israeli occupation.”

On March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations were instigated by Hamas on the Israeli-Gaza border. Participants declared their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance.”

March participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes. Rioters also made numerous attempts to breach Israel’s border fence, which caused the Israeli Defense Forces to respond with live fire.

Agitators also threw Molotov cocktails, firebombs, shot firearms and threw rocks under the cover of smoke from burning tires.

The violent riots continued until the end of 2018, accompanied by military-style attacks carried out by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and other terror organizations. The attacks included gunfire, armed rioters penetrating Israeli territory, throwing IEDs and hand grenades and launching incendiary kites into Israel.

When referencing her “#ZionistsNotWelcome” hashtag, Hawkins reiterated: “I am opposed to the political ideology of Zionism...I was using the statement to call out land theft and the occupation of Palestine by Zionist settlers who have stolen Palestinian homes and farms against international law.”

Hawkins concluded her statement with: “Canada and Israel are settler colonial police states that need to be decolonized, demilitarized and defunded.”

On July 16, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbenders’ Instagram a tweet from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that said: “There is no place in our country for hate or antisemitism, and we must be on constant guard against this behaviour...Canada will always stand against these unacceptable acts and stand with the Jewish community.

In response Hawkins wrote: “Doesn’t matter what this chump says or does, Palestine will be free.”

Promoting Terrorists

On September 3, 2020, Hawkins posted a video of anti-Israel activist Noura Erakat on her Foodbenders’ Instagram. The accompanying text read: “When Israel kills an innocent person, which it frequently and systematically does, it is ready on the defence locked and loaded with hasbara to convince world audiences that person was guilty and deserved to die.” … Here are some of the trolls who attacked me for posting about the IOF murder of Ahmed Erakat.”

Ahmad Erakat was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated his car at a checkpoint, ramming his vehicle into soldiers. One female soldier was injured.

On August 29, 2020, Hawkins posted a photo on Foodbenders’ Instagram of a child throwing a large rock at a soldier. She captioned the photo: “If this is a conflict with two sides, why are the rocks, kites, balloons and suicide bombers not at the arms fairs?

Don’t say conflict. Say 72 year old occupation committing systematic genocide against Palestinians.”

On August 26, 2020, Hawkins posted a photo on Foodbenders’ Instagram of green, white and red balloons. She captioned the photo: “They are not incendiary arson balloons. They are distress signals. An SOS to the rest of the world calling for an immediate end to the brutal siege and endless violence against the people of Gaza.

Hawkins continued: “Ours are solidarity balloons. We see you and we are with you. 🆘🎈🎈🎈#gazaunderattack #greatmarchofreturn #rightofreturn #freepalestine.”

In August 2020, Hamas operatives launched scores of incendiary and explosive balloons from the Gaza Strip into Israel, igniting over 100 fires in southern Israel’s fields and forests, burning hundreds of hectares of land and sometimes [00:01:03] threatening lives.

On March 8, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbender’s Instagram page a photo of Leila Khaled cradling an assault rifle. Hawkins captioned the photo: “Well-behaved women seldom make history. There is only one solution. Intifada. Revolution. #laurelthatcherulrich #leilakhaled #angeladavis #ahedtamimi #matriach #greatmarchofreturn #revolution #intifada #feminism #women #girls #internationalwomensday #equality #wetsuwetenstrong #nakba #womensright #waterislife #freepalestine.”

Khaled is a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau.

Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

The PFLP claimed credit for the 2014 Har Nof Massacre where six people were murdered during morning prayers in a Jerusalem synagogue. The PFLP also claimed credit for the 2001 assassination of the Israeli tourism minister.

On June 29, 2020, Hawkins was interviewed on camera outside her restaurant, by a reporter from “Rebel News.” During the interview, a sign can be seen outside her restaurant that said [00:06:46]: “Ahmed Erakat was murdered by Israeli soldiers…”

Ahmad Erakat [Ahmad Moustafa Erekat] was killed by Israeli security forces after he accelerated and rammed his car into soldiers at a checkpoint. One female soldier was injured.

Spreading Incitement

On August 14, 2020, Hawkins shared a video on the Foodbenders Instagram of Israeli police on the Temple Mount and a post from “Eye on Palestine” which said : “🇵🇸#Palestine Israeli occupation police stormed Al Aqsa mosque compound shortly before, and confiscated flags of Palestine and banners against the ‘ peace ‘ agreement between UAE and Israeli occupation regime.”

Hawkins captioned the photo: “Cops being cops. Why do they hate peaceful protest soooo much? #abolishpolice #landback #freepalestine.”

On February 14, 2020, Palestinians praying at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount trampled and then set fire to a poster of the United Arab Emirates leader to protest the normalization deal announced between Israel and the UAE.

The worshipers took turns stamping on the poster of UAE de-facto ruler Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in a sign of disrespect, while waving a Palestinian flag over it. They then tried to set the poster on fire. The incident continued until Israeli police stepped in and took the poster away, while the Palestinians chanted “Allahu Akbar.”

Spreading Anti-Semitism

On April 9, 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, Hawkins tweeted a cartoon by the late, controversial controversial cartoonist David Dees, with the caption: “Here’s the virus and the answers.”

The cartoon depicted Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu, Jewish presidential advisor Jared Kushner and U.S. President Donald Trump on a boat decorated with an Israeli flag and an illuminati eye symbol, sailing away from a smoldering mountain which read: “6 Trillion $ Bailout.”Behind the mountain stood a building emblazoned with “Federal Reserve” and a Jewish star.

During the coronavirus pandemic, BDS activists and white supremacists both shared similar conspiracy theories about the global crisis, including that Israel and Jews are behind or are exploiting the virus.

Spreading Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories

On April 8, 2020, Hawkins tweeted: “It’s looking like the COVID 19 response got rolled up in the Greater Israel Project. This move is part of a bigger, scarier plan they have in store for Palestine in this pandemic. #EndCOVIDSanctions.”

Greater Israel” is a conspiracy theory which claims that Israel plans to expand its territory to encompass most of the Middle East and chunks of North Africa.

On January 15, 2020 Hawkins tweeted: “American elections should not be run by #Apartheid #Israel and #AIPAC. Retweet if you agree. #GroupPalestine #FreePalestine.”

On January 11, 2020, Hawkins tweeted: “Believing this initial story wasn’t true is very rational. The United States and Israel false flag to start war regularly. Recall that very recently they tried to blame the bombing of a Saudi oil field on Iran.Widely proven to be false. 7 counties. 5 years.”

Coronavirus Demonization

On April 21, 2020, during the world-wide coronavirus pandemic, Hawkins shared and commented on a tweet reporting that Amazon donated $300,000 in supplies to Israel to combat Coronavirus. Hawkins wrote: “Seems like a poor investment for this sociopath - donating to the cancerous dying cause of zionism that is. I guess he really does care about the sick. #FreePalestine #endcovidsanctions #EatTheRich.”

On April 6, 2020, Hawkins posted to Facebook a photo of a tweet from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, conveying well wishes to English Prime Minister Boris Johnson, then suffering from the coronavirus. Hawkins wrote: “From one zionist puppet to another. Most of us just want a quick end to Boris Johnson altogether.”

On April 3, 2020, Hawkins posted to Facebook a photo of an article from “The New Arab,” titled: “Israeli forces steal coronavirus food aid for needy Palestinians, beat aid workers” and commented: “When there’s a pandemic and you just can’t stop oppressing people in every aspect of life…”

That same day, Hawkins tweeted to her Twitter followers a screenshot of the same article and commented: “#Apartheid is the antithesis of public health. War and occupation are contributing to the spread of #COVIDー19 in many ways.”

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On September 2, 2020, Hawkins posted a screenshot of a tweet to Foodbenders’ Instagram from Syrian “journalist” Richard Medhurst which said: “You can't bring up racism and ignore the genocide of Palestinians. You can't bring up injustice and ignore the oppression of Palestinians. Pay attention to your fav politicians/pundits- how often they address US-funded israeli apartheid.”

Hawkins captioned the screenshot: “It has almost been a year since my company has been under attack by zionists determined to silence me about Israeli war crimes.”

On September 1, 2020, Hawkins posted a video to Instagram featuring a member of the Neturei Karta.

Neturei Karta is an anti-Israel Jewish fringe group whose leader, Yisroel Dovid Weiss, was excommunicated from many Ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups for participating in a 2006 Holocaust denial conference in Iran. The group opposes Zionism on religious grounds and has called to dismantle Israel.

On August 12, 2020, Hawkins shared a screenshot of a tweet to Foodbenders’ Instagram from anti-Israel activist Amer Zahr which said: “Fight for #Palestine every day.

But remember...Google didn’t just start deleting us. Israel didn’t just start annexing us. Haifa. Yafa. Akka. Beisan. Tabarieh. Nazareth. Jerusalem. All annexed. All stolen. Just a reminder. #FreePalestine #AllOfPalestine.”

She captioned the screenshot: “48. Not 67. #nakba #gazaunderattack #freepalestine #allofpalestine.”

The accusation that Google Maps had replaced “Palestine” with “Israel” was based on a fraudulent image produced by anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and was debunked as a hoax.

On July 20, 2020, Hawkins posted a photo to Foodbenders' Instagram with the caption: “I ❤️ Gaza and all of Palestine from the river to the sea!”

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

On July 19, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbenders'Instagram a tweet from anti-Israel performer Remi Kanazi

Poet Remi Kanazi is known for his aggressively anti-Israel spoken-word performances. He has supported terrorism and has compared Israel to both ISIS and the Ku Klux Klan.

Kanazi’s tweet said: “Boycott Israel
Divest from Israel
Slap sanctions on Israel
Abolish the IOF (Israel occupation forces)
End the siege on Gaza
Dismantle the occupation
Tear down the wall
Smash apartheid
Free all prisoners
Apply the right to return
Liberate Palestine.” Hawkins commented: “To do list. 📝.”

The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

On July 3, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbenders' Instagrama series of graphics demonizing Israel The first said: “Anti-Zionism =/=AntiSemitism.” Other slides said: “Ethnic cleansing was a characteristic of the Israeli state from its very beginning” and “dismantle the apartheid Israeli colonial state.”

One slide Hawkins posted included a series of misleading maps. The maps claim that lands once controlled by Britain, Egypt and Jordan as autonomous “Palestinian land,” were purportedly stolen by Israel.

In February 2016, publisher McGraw-Hill Education recalled copies of a college-level textbook that contained the fraudulent maps. In October 2015, the United States cable news network MSNBC apologized for airing a similar series of maps and retracted them.

Hawkins said in her Foodbenders' Instagram post that she posted the slides: “to address accusations of anti-Semitism regarding our social media and sidewalk sign.” Hawkins began: “I do not believe criticism of the Zionist political ideology, Israel or the Greater Israel Project, or pointing out its racist supremacist foundations amounts to criticism of the Jewish people or even Israeli citizens.”

Hawkins continued: “Some people do believe this and may interpret these criticisms as anti-Semitic, and others will deliberately conflate the two to label you as racist with the primary goal of silencing discussion on Israel.”

Hawkins admitted: “I made comments about Canadian media and government being influenced by Zionist forces in this country. I still believe this to be true.”

On April 9, 2020, during the March of Return riots on Israel’s Gaza border, Hawkins tweeted: “To the surprise of no one. Israel weapononizes (sic) every crisis, while convincing the world children’s kites are terrorists needing to be shot down with expensive drones paid for by US taxes. Given the urgency of healthcare in the pandemic, maybe stop sending them 4billion a year.”

Starting on March 30, 2018, some 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza approached Israel’s border to take part in “Land Day Protests” or the “March of Return.” The violent demonstrations on the Israeli-Gaza border were instigated by Hamas and march participants sent scores of kites bearing explosive devices across Israel’s border to burn Israeli crops and homes.

Participants declared their intention to harm Jews across the border under the pretext of “peaceful resistance” and rioters made numerous attempts to breach Israel’s border fence, which caused the Israeli Defense Forces to respond with live fire.

On February 25, 2020, Hawkins posted on Facebook: “It’s about time we globalize the #intifada 🇵🇸❤️🐢”

Since the early 2000s, the term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” has carried the connotation of violence.

Hawkin’s attached to her Facebook post an article from the anti-Israel Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) which said: “[a]s Palestinians living in diaspora in so-called Canada,” their fate as people “struggling against colonialism and oppression” was “indelibly tied together” with the struggle of “Wet’suwet’en relatives on Turtle Island.”

PYM has expressed support for terrorists, promoted incitement to violence and advocated for the dissolution of the State of Israel.

On January 11, 2020, shortly after Iran admitted lying about its downing of a Ukranian passenger plane, Hawkins tweeted: “Canada is concerned Iran is lying about the plane tragedy being a mistake - suggesting Iran deliberately killed innocent people. Then why not be concerned w/ Israel deliberately killing children and claiming ‘mistake’ eg: 4 boys on a beach 2014 or family of 9 last Nov 2019?”

On January 9, 2020, Hawkins posted to her Foodbender’s Instagram a photo of coffee mugs that read: “I❤️Gaza.” Hawkins captioned the photo: “Mugs are $20 each and everything you drink out of them tastes like justice. Plus it’s a great way to piss off a racist at your office. Our online store is coming soon.”

Hawkins continued: “We are also in the market for a friend or partner willing to host a documentary film screening of Gaza fights for freedom. Hit us up if you can help! #freepalestine #freegaza #justice #gazaunderattack #i❤️gaza #iccforisrael #bds #internationallaw #humanrights #unitednations #freepalestine2020 #endgazasiege #merch #swag #mugs #love #❤️ #Greatmarchofreturn #nakba #rightofreturn.”

On November 25, 2019, Hawkins tweeted: “Israel. Kills. Kids.”

On May 25, 2019, Hawkins tweeted: “Try to keep up folks, being critical of the #Israeli #apartheid ethnostate isn’t #AntiSemitic, just like being critical of a fake Russian collusion conspiracy isn’t the same as supporting
@realDonaldTrump

On May 6, 2019, Hawkins shared on Foodbenders' Instagram a photo of a bus stop in the United Kingdom with a poster that said: “Israel’s Killing Children Again. Enjoy Your Weekend.” Hawkins added a comment with the hashtags: “#freepalestine #freegaza #sanctionisrael #gaza #boycottisrael #bdc #children #childrights #humanrights #genocide #apartheid.”

On June 9, 2018, Hawkins posted a cartoon on Facebook by anti-Semitic cartoonist Carlos Latuff, that depicted a fighter jet emblazoned with the Star of David, labeled: “the victim” and a small Palestinian flag kite labeled “the aggressor.” The title was “Israeli Logic.”

Carlos Latuff is a Brazilian political cartoonist who has equated Israel and America with Nazi Germany and promoted violence. In 2006, he won second prize at Iran’s “International Holocaust Cartoon Competition” for a cartoon that compared Israel’s security barrier to Nazi concentration camps.

Spreading Hatred of Zionists

On July 1, 2020, Hawkins posted a screenshot on Foodbenders’Instagram of a 2019 article from the anti-Israel Electronic Intifada, titled: “Inside Israel’s Million Dollar Troll Army.”

Hawkins wrote: “There is no sense in arguing with the zionist troll. They are backed by powerful forces. This is why their accounts appear to be regular people, sometimes pretending to be empathetic. This is part of the PR strategy of the Israeli government.”

On July 4, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbenders’Instagram story a screenshot of a Zionist Canadian woman’s bookstore and asked: “aren’t you supposed to be more educated surrounded by all the knowledge? no? figured” and added: “Toronto’s oldest bookstore with 179 followers. Probably established in 1948 in someone else [(sic]) bookstore.”

On July 5, 2020, Hawkins posted a photo of an Israeli flag on Foodbenders’ Instagram and wrote: “zionists like to appear bigger than they are. The Israeli flag is white for supremacy and blue for cop. 🤮🇮🇱🗑 #acab [all cops are bastards].”

On January 10, 2020 Hawkins tweeted: “Zionism is not Judaism. Judaism is a religion, not a nation. Being Jewish does not dictate support for Zionist Israel. Everyone has the right to free speech. When will this nonsense end and when will #palestine be free?!?! #GroupPalestine.” Hawkins embeddeda now-deleted tweet from the anti-Israel Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).

Supporting Anti-Israel Agitators

On December 22, 2017, Hawkins updated her Facebook cover photo to one of Ahed Tamimi holding a Palestinian flag.

Ahed Tamimi has a long history of physically attacking Israeli soldiers. Tamimi is the daughter of Bassem Tamimi, who is known for exploiting young children as political props in staged confrontations with Israeli soldiers.

On December 12, 2019, Hawkins posted on Facebook: “Just putting this out to the universe: Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn
@timetofreepalestine.”

Approximately 50 members of Jeremy Corbyn’s party were quietly suspended from the party due to their anti-Semitic comments exposed on social media.

In 2012 Corbyn invited Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the extreme wing of the Islamic Movement in Israel, to Parliament and described Salah as "a very honored citizen."

Salah's record included endorsingthe conspiracy theory that was started by Syria’s government-owned newspaper, Al Thawra, about Jews being warned not to come to work at the Twin Towers on September 11. In a 2007 sermon, Salah also repeated the medieval European blood libel that Jews use the blood of gentile children to make matzah, for Passover.

In another incident, Corbyn stated he looked forward to hosting "our friends from Hezbollah" at an event at Parliament, and described that group and Hamas as being “dedicated toward bringing long-term peace in the entire region.”

Although he eventually expressed regret for those statements — during an investigation on anti-Semitism in his party in July of 2016 — Corbyn went on to back-handedly compare Israel’s government to ISIS.

In October 2020, Corbyn was suspended from the Labour Party after he downplayed a report that found the party “did not do enough to prevent anti-Semitism and, at worst, could be seen to accept it".

On December 12, 2019, Jeremy Corbyn lost the parliamentary election by a large margin.

On February 14, 2019, Hawkins reposted on the Foodbenders Instagram page a drawing of U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, along with the caption: “#IStandWithIlhan because she spoke truth and has nothing to apologize for. Her tweet was not anti-Semitic. She spoke out against Israeli apartheid and war profiteering lobbyists. . . . .”

Ilhan Omar was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2018. In February 2019, top Congressional leaders denounced Omar for tweeting anti-Semitic remarks.Omar has demonized Israel and endorsed BDS. In July 2019, Omar introduced a pro-BDS resolution in the U.S. Congress, which she described as “an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support…the BDS movement.”

Support for BDS

On August 28, 2020, Hawkins shared a screenshot to Facebook of a nasty review she gave for an Israeli wine from the company Teperberg and encouraged others to do the same. She gave the wine ⅕ stars and commented: “This wine has a very strong sour after taste, heavy with notes of illegal occupation and dehumanization of the Palestinian people. 0/10.”

Also on August 28, 2020, Hawkins shared a photo of grapes on Foodbenders’ Instagram and wrote: “Grape harvest in Gaza! Can you imagine how old those vines are?❤️🍇📷photo credit @mahmoud_ajjour #bds #freegaza PS: boycott Israeli Wine at @lcbo.” LCBO is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.'

She captioned the screenshot: “We have power too. Send me screen shots of your reviews for the stories!🚫🍷 #boycottisrael #bds #lcbo #cabsauv

On June 29, 2020, Hawkins was interviewed on camera outside her restaurant, by a reporter from “Rebel News.” When asked “What does defund israel mean?” Hawkins answered [00:04:16]: “It means stop giving Israel 3.8 billion dollars over the next ten years to kill innocent little Palestinian children and babies and nurses and journalists and doctors.”

During the exchange, Hawkins called [00:04:27] the interviewer “a genocidal maniac” and and a right-wing fearmongering piece of s**t ...” and later stated [00:04:52]: “everyone should follow Toronto BDS network and boycott Israel. Israel kills children.”

When asked if she loved Hamas, Hawkins responded [00:05:04]: “It is none of your business...I do not support terrorism, that’s why I have the defund Israel sign.” She continued [00:05:20]: “Israel is a terrorist state.”

Hawkins then asked the interviewer [00:06:20]: “Why don't you talk about the thousands of children that are being killed by Israel every day. Defund Israel.”

On December 29, 2019, Hawkins tweeted: “#boycottisreal until every Palestinian is free and able to realize their #rightofreturn 💓.”

On January 8, 2020, Hawkins tweeted: “#Canada has an Israel problem and it’s getting worse. I #BoycottIsrael and will influence others to do so. No law will stop me.”

On June 9, 2020, Hawkins posted on Foodbenders' Instagram a graphic from the Toronto BDS Network and wrote: “We have joined @torontobdsnetwork. You should too! 📎 linktr.ee/torontobdsnetwork ❤️ 🇵🇸 ❤️ #FreePalestine #bds.”

On July 14, 2014, Hawkins shared to Facebook an article from MIC.com, titled: “9 Brands You Can Boycott to Hold Israel Accountable for Its Violation of International Law.”

Anti-Israel Activism

On July 5, 2020, Hawkins posted to Foodbender'sInstagrama video taken at a rally, where members of Neturei Karta and multiple Palestinian flags can be seen in the crowd. The video showed a speaker saying: “our oppressors are taking notes from the Israeli Defense Forces,” a key talking point of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP)’s “the Deadly Exchange” campaign.

Hawkins wrote: “Israel’s brutality is being packaged up and shipped to us, after it is battle tested on the civilians of Gaza.Globalize the intifada! 🖤🇵🇸.”

In 2017, JVP launched the “Deadly Exchange (DX)” campaign, which accused American Jewish organizations of promoting human rights abuses. JVP also released a video that blamed [00:04:04] U.S.-based Jewish organizations for violence that occurs against Black and Brown communities, immigrants and activists in the U.S.

On February 1, 2020, Hawkins posted a series of videos to Foodbenders’Instagram from an anti-Israel rally in front of the U.S. Consulate in Toronto and captioned them: “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free ❤️🇵🇸👊 #freepalestine #freegaza #no4dealofcentury #intifada #revolution.”

On May 18, 2018, Hawkins posted a photo on Foodbenders’ Instagram of a sign she placed on her restaurant's door, letting customers know it would be closed for an hour so she could attend an anti-Israel rally called: “Emergency Action for Palestine.”

Hawkins wrote: “Letting you know we are closed for the next few hours to participate in an emergency action event for Palestine. We hope to see you there too! #nakba70 #sanctionisrael #boycottisrael #breakgazaseige #freepalestine #freeahedtamimi #unitedforpalestine #endapartheid #palestinianlivesmatter #stopisrael.”

Spreading Hatred of Police

On June 2, 2020, Hawkins posted to Facebook: “There is no such thing as a good cop. There is no such thing as a blue life.”

On June 9, 2020, Hawkins wrote on Facebook: “We are not just going to eat the rich, there is also going to be a pig roast.”

“Pig'' is a common pejorative for police officers.

On June 11, 2020, Hawkins posted on Facebook: “When we say f**k the police,
What we really mean is, f**k the police. #ftp.”

A June 22, 2020 video by Rebel News showed Hawkins’ response to someone on her Foodbenders' Instagram page, which read [00:03:16]: “f**k cops, cops wives and especially cop kids. And f**k you. Goodnight.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
