Promoting Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories
On January 1, 2024, Abou El Fadl was featured in a Twitter video of a sermon he gave on December 22, 2023. He said [00:00:01]: “The Germans blamed the Jews for their own slaughter. The Germans insisted that what they did in the countries they occupied wasn’t their fault. It was always the fault of the occupied. The rhetoric of the Germans is indistinguishable from the rhetoric that Israel uses about Palestinians.”The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.
In the same sermon, Abou El Fadl further stated [00:02:45]: “We are considered like animals. Exactly like the Nazis looked at Jews. Something subhuman, something less than human, exactly like the narrative and the language of the Nazis.”
In the same sermon, Abou El Fadl said [00:01:35]: “The entire world witnesses and knows that Israelis executed Palestinians in front of their families…killing the women and children.” He also alleged [00:02:09] that reports of Hamas terrorists beheading Jewish babies and raping Jewish women during the October 7, 2023 massacre were lies.
Denial of the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, among anti-Israel activists has been likened to Holocaust denial among neo-Nazis.
