Isabella Harbison, also known as Robyn Harbison, was arrested and charged with 4th degree assault against a police officer, rioting, trespassing, damage to property during an anti-Israel protest at the University of Minnesota (U of M) during Israel's war against Hamas in the wake of the October 7, 2023 terror attacks on Israel.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
The protest was organized by the U of M Students for a Democratic Society (umnsds) and supported by Students For Justice in Palestine (sjpumn).
Isabella Harbison is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Harbison has also spread hatred of Israel and engaged in anti-Israel activism.
As of January 2025, Harbison's Facebook page said that Harbison was the director of Women Against Military Madness (WAMM).
Isabella Harbison, using the name Robyn Harbison, graduated from the College of Liberal Arts of the University of Minnesota in May 2023.

On October 21, 2024, Isabella Harbison was arrested by the University of Minnesota (U of M) police department and charged with 4th degree assault against a police officer, rioting, trespassing, and damage to property.
On the same day, U of M Students for a Democratic Society (umnsds) posted on Instagram: "SUPPORT STUDENTS OCCUPYING MORRILL HALL...to demand that the University of Minnesota DIVEST from the genocidal Israel and all weapon companies complicit...#palestine #divest #intifada." A flyer included in the post read: "UMN COMMUNITY OCCUPPIES [sic] MORRILL HALL / RENAMES IT HALIMY HALL..."
The building takeover was organized by U of M's chapter of Students for a Democratic Society (umnsds) and supported by U of M's chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (sjpumn), which posted on Instagram: "UMN STUDENTS OCCUPY HISTORIC MORRILL HALL FOR PALESTINE
...UMN STUDENTS DEMAND COMPLETE DIVESTMENT FROM ISRAELI WEAPONS AND BONDS, ISRAELI UNIVERSITIES AND WEAPONS STOCK...LIBERATION IS NEAR
!!"
The post included a video captioned: "UMN STUDENTS HAVE OCCUPIED MORRILL HALL !! !! !!" and showed a small group of students supporting the building takeover, led by a woman in black wearing a red keffiyeh and shouting into a megaphone while pacing back and forth in front of a large, green banner with white text that read: "MONEY FOR EDUCATION / NOT FOR BOMBS & OCCUPATION."
On October 21, 2024, CrimeWatchMpls posted on X: "...From the occupation of UMN campus." Included in the post were photos that showed the entrance and exit doors of Morrill Hall sealed shut with a metal bike lock and bungee cords, and blocked by furniture.
Also on October 21, 2024, a user posted on X: "Pro-Palestine protesters at the University of Minnesota have barricaded the entrances to Morrill, the administrative building." The post included a photo of students, faces hidden by keffiyehs wrapped around their heads, moving furniture down the building hallway. A second photo showed a doorway pulled shut by ropes and by furniture, which staff from leaving the building, and damaged property.
On October 21, 2024, following the arrests, U of M issued a statement about the protest and arrests that said: "Once inside the building, protesters began spray painting, including covering lenses of all internal security cameras, breaking interior windows, and barricading the building’s entrance and exit points. The full extent of the damage is unknown. A number of staff were working in the building at the time, and several people were not able to exit...for an extended period of time. To ensure the safety of U of M employees in the building who were unable to exit, and in light of property damage sustained to the building, University of Minnesota Police Department [UMPD] was called to the scene...With necessary support from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, UMPD...arrested 11 people..."
On October 30, 2024, Campus Reform reported that Isabella Harbison was one of 11 "anti-Israel agitators" arrested on October 21, 2024 after taking over Morrill Hall at U of M on charges of "damage to property, riot, and trespassing."
Harbison was one of the non-students arrested, and the only protester additionally charged with a felony assault against a police officer.
Of the 11 protesters arrested, umnsds posted on Instagram that seven were found guilty.
On November 28, 2024, umnsds posted on Instagram: "U OF MN HALIMY HALL STUDENTS SUSPENDED FOR UP TO 2.5 YEARS!"
The post continued: "...the [7] students were found guilty on all charges...As punishment, the administration has decided that all 7 students must pay over $5,500 each in restitution and will be suspended starting January 1st..."
The post also stated that: "...the University "intends to withhold the transcripts of those arrested" and stated that "students have to do 20 hours of community service and write a 5-10 page essay about the 'difference between vandalism and protest.'"
On April 16, 2024, Harbison wrote an article for Fight Back! News that the modern state of Israel's creation in 1948 was an "illegal occupation of Palestine by Israeli forces."
On January 8, 2024, Harbison wrote in an article for Fight Back! News that "Israel spews so much lies and propaganda about their ‘right to exist’ or why they’re entitled to the land [of Israel]" and that "this is bulls**t."
On October 30, 2023, Harbison wrote an article for Fight Back! News titled: "Minnesota high school students face Zionist repression by faculty."
Harbison reported that on October 25, 2023, students at Edina High School "held a walkout and speak-out" in solidarity with Palestine. Harbison wrote: "...the school is a predominantly white institution...Muslim students wanted to make sure their voices were heard, especially while faculty have made statements on behalf of school that are pro-Israel..."
Harbison continued: "...organizers reported that administrators claimed the students' chant, 'From the river to the sea Palestine will be free' was antisemitic, and also claimed that 'it's not Palestine's land.' These comments are a blatant erasure on Palestine's history as a nation..."
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
Harbison also wrote: "...war crimes that have been taking place in Gaza by the Israeli occupation for over 75 years is a disgrace..."
The modern State of Israel was founded 75 years earlier, in 1948.
On December 11, 2023, Harbison wrote an article for Fight Back! News titled: "Minneapolis: Palestine solidarity march on International Human Rights Day." The march and rally was organized by the Minnesota Anti-War Committee (AWC) and featured speakers from Students for Justice in Palestine and American Muslims for Palestine.
A photo accompanying the article was captioned: "Minneapolis stands in solidarity with Palestine on Human Rights Day" and showed marchers wearing keffiyehs, waving Palestinian flags, and holding a banner that read:"DIVE$T FROM GENOCIDE / HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL."
Harbison wrote: "...the Palestinian people...have endured over 75 years of colonization..." Harbison also quoted a rally speaker who said: "Palestinians have a right to return to their historic homelands."
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
On October 8, 2023, one day after Hamas terrorists breached the Gaza security fence and killed over 1,200 Israelis, Harbison promoted on Facebook an October 9, 2023 event titled: "Emergency Response Protest: Stand with Palestine!" The event was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota and co-sponsored by the Minneapolis chapter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The post featured a photo of protesters marching in the street, wearing keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags. At the head of the marchers were protesters holding banners. One banner in white displayed the logo of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and read: "FREE PALESTINE." A second banner was a large Palestinian flag marked: "FREE PALESTINE! / END COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT AND STOP BOMBING GAZA! / STOP U.S. AID TO ISRAEL."
On October 14, 2023, Harbison promoted on Facebook an October 15, 2023, event titled: "March for Palestine." The event was held in Bryant Square Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota and co-organized by the Minnesota chapters of the anti-Israel organizations American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
On January 8, 2024, Harbison wrote an article for Fight Back! News titled: "Twin Cities activists rally for Palestine." Harbison wrote: "...activists rallied at the weekly...Free Palestine bannering...[and] chanted 'Viva viva Palestina' and 'Resistance is justified, when Palestine is occupied...'" Speakers at the rally included Mariam El Khatib of the Minnesota chapter of AMP.
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
