Ian Sherwood

Ian Sherwood [Ian McHenry Sherwood] was arrested at a pro-Hamas encampment at Arizona State University (ASU) during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Israel launched the war after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks.

On April 27, 2024, Ian Sherwood was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass at the ASU encampment, which was part of a national movement on college campuses during Israel’s war against Hamas. The encampments were in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

On April 30, 2024, Ian Sherwood was listed as one of the 20 plaintiffs in a lawsuit against ASU. The plaintiffs were suspended by the school following their arrest at the unlawful pro-Hamas encampment. They were also “not permitted back on ASU campus grounds” and were “prohibited from communicating with any ASU faculty or staff.”

As of March 2025, Ian Sherwood indicated on his X bio that he was affiliated with the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) at ASU (ASU YDSA).

As of the same date, Ian Sherwood's X bio said he was a student at ASU, slated to graduate in 2025.

Also as of March 2025, Sherwood's LinkedIn profile said he worked as a research assistant at the Center for Work and Democracy at ASU.

As of the same date, Sherwood's LinkedIn profile said he was located in Mesa, Arizona.
