He had reportedly been an organizer there since at least 2021 and a member since 2018.
Husseini glorified Hamas the day they committed war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Glorifying Hamas Terrorist War Crimes on Oct. 7, 2023
On October 7, 2023, the day Hamas murdered 1,200 Israeli Jews, Husseini tweeted: “Palestinian resistance mov’t has demonstrated 2day that Israeli settler colonialism & occupation will not last. Unity of the resistance forces & solidarity is needed now more than ever as a new stage in the war of liberation has begun #EndIsraeliOccupation #FreePalestine #فلسطين [#Palestine].”Anti-Israel activists use the term “resistance” to refer to violence and terror perpetrated against Israeli civilians and their allies. It is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence. Anti-Israel activists chant slogans such as: “Resistance by any means necessary!” and “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” in response to terror attacks.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped hundreds and wounded thousands. War crimes included mass rape and torture. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.” For more information, see the Canary Mission page on Hamas.
On October 8, 2023, Husseini tweeted: “Israel is a racist endeavour founded on the ethnic cleansing and dispossession of Palestinians who have every right to struggle for their liberation. Deal with it.”
On the same date, Husseini tweeted about Hamas: “It’s called liberation struggle…”
Also on October 8, 2023, in response to a tweet condemning the terror attacks, Husseini tweeted: “It is called liberation of stolen land, stupid!!!”
On October 10, 2023, Husseini tweeted at Hussein Al-Sheikh, the secretary general of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), saying: “When will you do the right thing, stop your collaboration and security coordination with the Zionist occupiers and join the armed struggle to free Palestine!?!”
On the same date, Husseini tweeted: “No amount of repression & atrocities by #ApartheidIsrael & its western apologists & enablers will ever extinguish the #Gaza ghetto uprising and resistance of the Palestinian people and yearning for full liberation #GazaUnderAttack #Resistance #FreePalestine #FromTheRiverToTheSea.”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” is a chant used [00:02:47] to call for the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state. In April 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the chant as antisemitic.
On October 25, 2023, Husseini spoke at an anti-Israel protest in Ottawa titled: “Solidarity Rally: Stand with the Global General Strike for Palestine.”
At the rally, Husseini reportedly spoke about about condemnations of Hamas terrorism. He said: “You do not get to tell a colonized people how to fight for their liberation. If anything, this exposes your white liberal guilt and fragility, and even supremacy. So please spare us.”
In the same speech, Husseini also referred to Israel as “a racist, apartheid state.”
Anti-Semitism
On November 10, 2023, Husseini tweeted: “As occupying power, Israel’s brutal attacks in #Gaza can only be compared at this point to the #Nazi tactics during their occupation in Europe and #Palestinian people’s resistance can only be compared to the Jewish heroic resistance of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising #FreePalestine.”The “Israel Lobby” is a conspiracy theory alleging Israeli and Jewish control over the U.S. government. Proponents of the theory decry the negative effects on American interests, particularly in foreign policy.
The phrase “Never Again” is often deployed as a general declaration against genocide, invoking the Nazis’ war of extermination against the Jews.
Support for Terrorists
Khalida Jarrar is a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror organization. She has reportedly been the head of the PFLP in the West Bank since 2016. In 2015, an Israeli military court sentenced Jarrar to 15 months in prison for calling to kidnap Israeli soldiers. Israel arrested Jarrar again in 2017 “on suspicion of involvement with terrorist activities and violent public disturbances.” In 2019, she was arrested by Israel with 50 other PFLP operatives following a deadly 2018 bombing attack.
Following the outbreak of Israel’s 2023 war against Hamas, Houthi terrorists attacked commercial ships off Yemen’s Red Sea coast and launched missiles into southern Israel. Like Hamas, the Houthi movement is backed by Iran, and is designated as a terror group by the United States, Saudi Arabia and other countries. The Houthi slogan translated into English reads: “God is the Greatest / Death to America / Death to Israel / A Curse Upon the Jews / Victory to Islam.”
On July 3, 2023, Husseini tweeted about a photo of a Palestinian terrorist in Jenin: “I see a resistance freedom fighter exercising his legitimate right to resist an invading brutal occupation army, not at all dissimilar to the fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising #FreePalestine #JeninUnderAttack #IsraeliTerrorism.”
In early July 2023, Israeli forces launched a two-day counterterrorism operation in the Jenin refugee camp. Its goal was to target terrorists and dismantle the terror infrastructure of organizations such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). By the end of the operation, the Israeli army had reportedly dismantled “hundreds of explosives, weapons caches and underground tunnels.”
On December 14, 2021, Husseini was featured as a speaker at a film screening about Georges Abdallah, hosted by Carleton SJP and the Anti-Imperialist Alliance.
Georges Abdallah is a convicted Lebanese terrorist, reportedly a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and co-founder of the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Factions (LARF). He murdered an American military attaché and an Israeli diplomat in 1982.
Hatred of Zionists and Israel
.”
[Israel] w full support & participation of the US, other imperialist states & reactionary Arab regimes #Resistance #FreePalestine.”
Israel is an apartheid state that is committing a genocide, this isn’t debatable… this is FACT.”Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
On January 21, 2024, Husseini tweeted: “Israel’s attacks on #Gaza since October 7 are motivated by a genocidal intent that dates back 75 yrs & a reaction to the defeat of its army by
resistance. It has nothing 2 do w Hamas killing of civilians, most of whom were killed by Israel itself…”The modern State of Israel was founded 76 years earlier, in 1948.
On October 26, 2023, Husseini tweeted: “Good morning and f**k #Apartheid_Israel and anyone who defends it and attempts to whitewash its #WarCrimes and genocide.”
On October 23, 2023, Husseini tweeted: “You know this isn’t about Hamas. Be honest. As a Zionist, ur problem is with the existence of the Palestinian people who will never stop resisting Zionist occupation, settler colonization and apartheid. This is a decolonization struggle & will not end well 4 the colonial power.”
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
