Hannah Carr-Murphy reportedly signed an anti-Israel statement in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The profilee's activism occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, which Israel launched after the October 7, 2023, terror attacks when Hamas murdered nearly 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands and kidnapped hundreds.

The January 15, 2024 statement Hannah Carr-Murphy signed accused Israel of an “ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza” as well as “apartheid [and] ethnic cleansing,” during its war against Hamas.

Signatories were affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY), and the statement sought to develop “a SUNY-wide Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement…at all 64 SUNY campuses.”

As of March 2026, Hannah Carr-Murphy's personal website said she received a PhD in English from Binghamton University (Binghamton) in May 2024. Binghamton is part of SUNY and is located in Binghamton, New York.

As of the same date, Hannah Carr-Murphy's personal website's said she was a poet and musician located in Waterloo, Iowa.
