Hanan Zayed

Overview

Hanan Zayed has called for Israel’s destruction, defended the Hamas terror group, expressed support for terrorists and equated Israel with Nazi Germany. 

Zayed has also celebrated the death of an Israeli victim of terror and spread hatred of Zionists, Israelis, Israel and the police. 

Zayed is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. 

As of January 2023, Zayed was listed by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) as an “Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician” working in Greenfield, Wisconsin. She had the credential number 30016331 and her license was issued on July 29, 2016, and is due to expire on July 1, 2024.

Also as of January 2023, Zayed’s LinkedIn page said she had been a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” working at Hayat Pharmacy since September 2011. She was listed as being located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

On June 8, 2018, Hayat Pharmacy posted a photo of Zayed to their Facebook page and attributed a quote to her that read: “My role is the District 1 Manager at Hayat Pharmacy, as well as the Director of Education.”

In October 2021, Zayed was issued four certificates by the PTCB that included: Immunization Administration, Billing and Reimbursement, Medication History and Technician Product Verification.

As of January 2023, Zayed held a certificate of “Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED [Cardiopulmonary resuscitation/automated external defibrillator],” certificate ID number 160981877711125, conducted by Basic Life Support (BLS). The certificated was issued on January 4, 2021, and expired on January 4, 2023. 

Zayed’s LinkedIn page also said she was an “Amateur Writer” and that she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) with a bachelor's degree in “English/Language Arts Teacher Education” in 2015. 

As of January 2023, Zayed went by the name “Hanan Qatoum” on Facebook and used the handle “@bintyehya” on Twitter.

Calling for Israel’s Destruction

On May 11, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Hope all of Israel lives on edge til it’s demise. Not a single soul living there illegally deserves peace.”

On June 13, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Or how about the world get together and we bomb the f**k out of Israel like we did Nazi Germany since it’s the same s**t now.”

On June 24, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel’s end is coming soon, God willing…”

On June 27, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Abolish Israel.”

Defending Hamas

On November 20, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “No, it’s an organization that resists illegal occupation and ethnic cleansing. Hamas is a response to Zionism. We need more of them.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On June 9, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “... Hamas is a self-defense group fighting for their people.” 


Also on June 9, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by an oppressive regime that commits ethnic cleansing and apartheid. Idgaf [I don’t give a f**k] about their opinion.”

On May 18, 2021, during Israel’s Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW), Zayed tweeted: “Israel can stop committing ethnic cleansing and war crimes. Hamas is only responding to that…”

In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.

Also on May 18, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “These Hamas rockets are not attacks, they’re retaliation and they have the right to defend themselves under international law.”

On May 15, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israelis are lucky that Hamas exists because Palestinian self-defense is their only excuse for crocodile tears and mass murder.”

Supporting Terrorists

On November 16, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Replace [Yasser] Arafat with Yahya Ayyash” in response to a Twitter user who tweeted their “top 3 palestinians.”

Ayyash, known as the Engineer of Death, was the chief bomb-maker for Hamas during the mid-1990s. He manufactured the explosives used in numerous suicide bombings that targeted Jewish civilians.  

On September 7, 2021, Zayed tweeted a photo of an escape tunnel used by inmates at Gilboa prison and wrote: “The most beautiful sunrise. Freedom for Palestinians everywhere, from the river to the sea.”

On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in Israel. The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who were jailed for their involvement in attacks carried out during the second intifada. All were recaptured by September 19, 2021, by Israeli authorities.

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.

Equating Israel with Nazi Germany

On December 26, 2021, Zayed condemned Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel on Twitter and wrote: “Surviving the Holocaust alone makes him some type of saint? Sorry. But his Zionism erased any good he could’ve done. He was willing to do to others what happened to him.”


On January 4, 2022, Zayed tweeted: “Israel took all the Jews out of Gaza to create its own Warsaw Ghetto. Are you dense.”

Celebrating the Death of an Israeli Victim of Terror 

On November 21, 2021, Zayed tweeted about Eliyahu David Kay, writing: “I can’t believe he left South Africa to maintain apartheid in Palestine. Glad he’s gone. Hopefully the rest follow.”

On November 21, 2021, Eliyahu David Kay, a 25-year-old Israeli civilian and tour guide,was killed by a Hamas gunman, Fadi Abu Shkhaidem, who opened fire near the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Kay was an immigrant from South Africa who had served in the Israeli army. One civilian and two policemen were also injured from the shooting.  

On November 22, 2021, Zayed tweeted that Kay was a “legitimate target.”

On November 24, 2021, Zayed tweeted about Kay: “You’re twisting words to fit your narrative. He’s an apartheid enforcer who left his country to harm others. A soldier willing to die for apartheid. Good riddance.”

Hatred of Zionists

As of January 29, 2023, Zayed’s pinned tweet was her July 10, 2022 tweet that read: “It’s okay to be wrong sometimes, but it’s never okay to be a Zionist.” 

On January 14, 2022, Zayed tweeted: “I don’t negotiate with Zionists.”

On January 2, 2022, Zayed tweeted: “Hope everyone has a COVID free 2022 except Zionists.”

On July 24, 2021, Zayed tweeted: 
“> Zionist …
> (ironically) white supremacists 
> all their food tastes like s**t so they claim Palestinian dishes 
> pathetic in every possible way, really 
> claims ethnic cleansing is a ‘conflict’
> can eat sh**t.”

On May 25, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel is a terrorist nation. Every Israeli Zionist living there is actively ethnic cleansing the aboriginal population.”

Hatred of Israelis

On November 6, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “I pray not a single Israeli has a day of peace. I pray they all end up with PTSD [Post-traumatic stress disorder] and their trauma follows them to their grave.”

On May 30, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “There is no Israeli civilian. They’re illegal settlers or active terrorists killing Palestinians.”

On May 11, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “The white people need to stop colonizing Palestine and go back to Europe and the US.”

One way that anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to claim [00:06:46] that Israeli Jews, particularly Ashkenazi Jews, do not descend from the ancient Israelites.
On November 8, 2021, Zayed tweeted that “all Israelis are trash…”

Hatred of Israel

On December 8, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel is an apartheid state that you support. You’re the terrorists.”

On November 24, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel doesn’t defend itself. It occupies, attacks, murders, ethnically cleanses, commits war crimes and crimes against humanity, enforces apartheid…”

On November 21, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel will never know peace. They will never deserve peace. Everyday, as long as the occupation exists, they will live in fear. Good.”

On June 10, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “That’s bulls**t. Israel has one goal and its to eradicate Palestinians from their homeland.”

On June 9, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Israel is a terrorist state.”

On May 18, 2021, during OGW, Zayed tweeted: “Israel is the occupying force. By international law, Palestine has the legal right to defend itself. Israel only has a right to stfu [shut the f**k up] and eat s**t.”

Hatred of Police

On October 22, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Yup, ACAB!”

“ACAB” is an acronym that stands for “All cops are bastards.”

On July 31, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “Just a reminder that ACAB.”

On May 13, 2021, Zayed tweeted: “ACAB means ALL COPS #FTP [F**k the Police].”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true. 

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”  

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
