Calling for the Death of Israel

Merarda retweeted a May 13, 2021 tweet that said: “i hope you get struck by a rocket.” The tweet was posted in response to a photo of a young woman holding an Israeli flag. The tweet had the caption “עם ישראל חי [The nation of Israel lives].”In May 2021, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists fired over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at major population centers in Israel. Israel responded by launching “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” carrying out targeted military strikes in Gaza.
Merarda retweeted a May 13, 2021 tweet that alleged: “israel has killed more people in gaza the past 24 hours than hamas rockets have killed in the past 20 years.”
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Spreading Incitement
Merarda retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet that read: “Alaqsa is on fire: Israel occupation militias torch AlAqsa Mosque trees for the Jewish settlers to dance and celebrate. #AlAqsaUnderAttack #AlAqsaOnfire”The retweet included a video purporting to show Jews dancing and cheering while a tree burned near the Al-Aqsa mosque.
The fire was reportedly caused by Palestinian rioters shooting fireworks at Israeli police and was quickly extinguished with no damage to the mosque. However, social media users suggested that Jews were celebrating the destruction of the mosque, when the celebrants had in fact gathered in honor of Jerusalem Day, an Israeli national holiday.
Merarda retweeted a May 10, 2021 tweet that included a video allegedly showing Jews dancing while a tree burned near the Al-Aqsa mosque and said: “take religion out of it for a second. How can you celebrate HUMANS suffering????”
Incitement surrounding Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers from May 10 to 21, 2021. In response to rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel launched “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” striking military targets in the terrorist-controlled enclave.
