Supporting Terrorists

On November 29, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted a screenshot of Leila Khaled, excerpted from a documentary glorifying her [00:02:42], with a subtitle that read: “If it does good for my cause, I’ll be happy to accept death.”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

On September 6, 2021, Abdelkader wrote on Instagram: “...palestinian joy is being felt everywhere today because of the freedom of our 6 Palestinian political prisoners who escaped a high security (illegal) Israeli prisoner using a spoon…”

Abdelkader’s post featured a photo of the hole dug by six Palestinian convicts used to escape from the Gilboa prison.

On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in Israel. The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who were jailed for their involvement in attacks carried out during the second intifada. All were recaptured by September 19, 2021, by Israeli authorities.

On July 8, 2021, Abdelkader shared a photo on Instagram of Ghassan Kanafani with text that read: “There is no end to our struggle.”

Abdelkader wrote: “rest in power Ghassan Kanafani, whose commitment to fighting colonialism, imperialism, and the liberation of all oppressed people resonates with Palestinians and revolutionaries everywhere. he’s more alive than any of us…”

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.

Hatred of Zionists

On November 22, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “…shame on anyone who normalizes with zionists.”

On July 5, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “‘i’m palestinian and i hate zionists. also my name is hadeel.’”

Promoting Incitement

On July 28, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “#SaveSheikhJarrah stand against israeli apartheid.”

In May 2021, calls to “save” Sheikh Jarrah, a Jerusalem neighborhood at the center of a property dispute, led to violence against Israelis and were one of the leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza into Israel that month.

On June 29, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “No there are not ‘clashes’ in Silwan, Palestine right now because that would indicate it’s 2-sided violence. Israel is trying to bulldoze their homes and Palestinians are resisting and defending themselves. #SaveSilwan.”

Jewish ownership claims to lands in Silwan, a Jerusalem neighborhood also known as Shiloach, have been frequently met with Palestinian violence against Israelis who sought to reclaim their property rights.

Demonizing Israel

Abdelkader retweeted a November 18, 2021 tweet by Canada-based anti-Israel activist Shatha Ayman that read: “the establishment of the colonial apartheid state of isr*el is predicated on the genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass displacement of Palestinians, as is it’s continued existence as an expansionist settler colonial regime.”

On November 16, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “nothing can burn a fire in my heart like watching the israeli police do literally anything.”

Abdelkader retweeted a November 12, 2021 tweet by Pennsylvania-based James Ray that read: “Israel is an settler colony maintained through apartheid and genocide. How do I know? Because I’m American. I know.”

Abdelkader retweeted a November 12, 2021 tweet by Shatha Ayman that read: “z*onism is an ideology built on the subjugation, displacement, disenfranchisement and genocide of Palestinians- no you can’t.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On August 6, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “f**k israel.”

Solidarity with Yasmeen Mashayekh

In November and December 2021, Abdelkader tweeted multiple times in support of Mashayekh who was [00:11:08] in the middle of a national controversy over anti-Semitism she spread on social media that year.

In October 2021, Mashayekh was listed as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Senator for USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering (Viterbi). In May 2021, she tweeted: “I want to f**king kill every motherf**king Zionist.” She also tweeted: “yel3an el yahood [curse the Jews]😌.”

Mashayekh has also spread violent hatred of Israeli Jews, called for the destruction of Israel and America, expressed support for Hamas and glorified terrorists.

Mashayekh was condemned after Canary Mission exposed her anti-Semitic tweets.

On November 25, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “i extend my support to @intifadyas amidst repeated slanderous attacks by c-nary m-ssion and other zionist organizations that are now interfering with her university life. @USCViterbi must stand by their student body when said students are subject to attack by entities that (+).”

On December 3, 2021, Abdelkader tweeted: “take less than five minutes out of your day and send out an email in support of Yasmeen (@intifadyas) who has been facing targeted racist harassment. show solidarity for palestinian students!”

Abdelkader was referring toa December 2, 2021 tweet that read: “We have drafted our own letter in support of Yasmeen (@intifadyas). If you support Yasmeen, a Palestinian student facing racist harassment & abuse, send an email to USC letting them know you stand with her and with Palestine. Here's the email template:”

The tweet linked to a template for a letter addressed to the Dean and President of USC in support of Mashayekh alleging that she was the victim of “violent attacks” and “harassment” and demanded that “USC must come forward with a statement that demonstrates support for” Mashayekh.

Supporting BDS

As of December 2021, Abdelkader’s Twitter bio contained a link to the BDS movement’s website, bdsmovement.net, which she later changed to decolonizepalestine.com.

Abdelkader retweeted a November 24, 2021 tweet by anti-Israel activist Shatha Ayman that read: “if your org [organization] adopts BDS, expelling an official who went on a trip to isr*el and met with a right wing lunatic who bragged about ‘killing Palestinians’ is the bare minimum adoption of BDS. y’all can keep trying to gaslight us into thinking we’re illogical i don’t give a f**k.”

Abdelkader retweeted another November 24, 2021 tweet by Ayman that read: “supporting BDS is literally the bare minimum one can do when it comes Palestinian human rights. if you claim to be a progressive and don’t even support that, then you’re not an ally, you’re an opposition. don’t cry when people point it out, do better instead.”

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
