Garrett Newman

Overview

Garrett Newman [Garrett Erwin Newman] was arrested in 2020 and 2011. Newman distributed [01:16:28] anti-Semitic flyers as an activist with the neo-Nazi Goyim Defense League (GDL) in 2023.

Newman has also praised Hitler and the Nazis, as well as promoted white supremacy and spread anti-Semitism on social media.

The GDL is an anti-Semitic hate group and conspiracy theorist network active since at least 2018, with headquarters in Palm Bay, Florida. The group stages anti-Semitic stunts across the U.S. and operates a white supremacist online video-sharing platform called GoyimTV (GTV).

The term “goy” in Hebrew and Yiddish is often used to refer to a non-Jew, with “goyim” being the plural form. “Goy” literally means “nation” in Hebrew.

As of December 2022, Newman was reportedly a member of National Socialists Florida (NSF), another neo-Nazi group.

As of August 2023, Newman’s LinkedIn profile said he owned Semper Fi Tree Guys. Florida state business records also list fellow GDL activist Joshua Dan Nunes as another company owner, where he was named “NUNES, JOSHUA.”

Also as of August 2023, Newman was listed as the owner of City Tree Painting LLC. He was also listed as the director of Two Sorry Dogs Inc. Both companies were registered in Florida.

Multiple Arrests

In August 2020, Newman was arrested at a counterprotest against an “End the Hate” rally to remove a mural depicting Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members from the Baker County courthouse in Macclenny, Florida. Newman was reportedly involved in a scuffle with one of the rally-goers and charged with “misdemeanor disorderly conduct (fighting).”

In December 2011, Newman was reportedly arrested and charged with battery and resisting a police officer.

2/18/2023 - GDL-NSF Anti-Semitic Banner Drop in Florida

Newman handed out [01:16:28] anti-Semitic flyers at a joint GDL-NSF rally in Daytona, Florida. He can be seen in the video wearing beige pants, a black jacket, a baseball hat and sunglasses.

On February 18, 2023, GDL members handed out [00:02:30] flyers and dropped an anti-Semitic banner on the pedestrian bridge leading to the Daytona International Speedway during the Daytona 500 race weekend.

Participants held anti-Semitic posters and GDL co-founder and leader Jon Minadeo had a sign that said [00:11:57]: “Why are Jews allowed to suck baby penis?”

Minadeo then shouted [00:12:56] at people crossing the highway overpass: “96% of American media is owned by baby penis-sucking Jews. Communists! They are trying to wipe out white people in their own country!”

The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.

Minadeo continued [00:14:29]: “They [Jews] worship the devil! They killed Jesus Christ! If you’re a Christian, look at Revelation 3:9, the synagogue of Satan! They controlled the slave ships, blamed slavery on whites when it was the Jews that brought them here. Wake up, white man! You’re going extinct! And if you speak about it, you’ll be called a racist!”

The phrase “synagogue of Satan” is mentioned in two verses from the New Testament’s Book of Revelation (2:9, 3:9), which have been used through the ages to justify anti-Semitism.

The claim that Jews were dominant in the transatlantic slave trade was propagated in a book published by the Nation of Islam titled: “The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews.” The book has been discredited in a work titled: “Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight,” by John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor of history, Eli Faber.

Minadeo also shouted [00:00:20] through a megaphone at people across the freeway: “Shut up, you stupid Jew, you’re in a hatchback. You should be in an oven!…And when white people wake up, you f**kers are done! Pack your bags, Jew.”

GDL members went over [01:08:08] to the pedestrian bridge, where they joined [01:13:50] masked NatSoc Florida (NSF) activists who had hung anti-Semitic banners that read: “Henry Ford was right about the Jews” and “Communism is Jewish.”

Henry Ford was an American car manufacturer and notorious anti-Semite.

On the pedestrian bridge, Newman handed out [01:16:28] anti-Semitic flyers together with other GDL activists.

On February 27, 2023, Minadeo posted on Gab a photo with GDL and NSF activists and wrote: “WHITE POWER STRIKES DAYTONA 500 / @GoyimTv / @NatSocFlorida.” Minadeo’s photo featured Newman on the far right, wearing beige pants, a black jacket and sunglasses.

Praising Hilter and the Nazis

On September 15, 2018, Newman posted on Gab: “The last speech by Adolf Hitler…” His post included a link to a video from a since-terminated YouTube account.

On December 2, 2017, Newman posted on Gab a picture of Adolf Hitler giving a Nazi salute.

On the same date, Newman posted on Gab a picture of Adolf Hitler and a quote attributed to him that read: “‘Struggle is the father of all things. It is not by the principles of humanity that man lives or is able to preserve himself above the animal world, but solely by means of the most brutal struggle.’ - Adolf Hitler.”

On December 1, 2017, Newman posted on Gab: “‘My Spirit will rise from the grave, and the world will know that I was right.’ - Adolf Hitler.”

On the same date, Newman posted on Gab: “National Socialism.” His post included an image with the text: “National Socialism is the product of over a century of political and social thought cultivated in Germanic nations, popularized and first put into action by its foremost proponent, German Fuhrer (Leader) and Chancellor Adolf Hitler. / It represents the most sound means of assuring the survival and the advancement of our race…”

White Supremacy

Newman reposted an August 31, 2018 post on Gab that said: “We are living in a White Supremacist system where: / - Our interests are secondary to the interests of non-whites. / - We aren’t allowed to have racial pride in ourselves. / - Hating us is the norm. / - Our own governments are working hard to replace us. / This must no longer continue.”

Newman reposted an August 30, 2018 post on Gab that showed Nazis saluting and said: “Will you reclaim your birthright? Will you join with the @NewAwakening and carve out a new ethnic homeland for all white people? Or will you sit idly by as a tsunami of mudskins overwhelms your nation and your populace? You know what must be done. Come home white man.”

Newman reposted an August 1, 2018 post on Gab that said: “A prerequisite for white survival is separatism. That is incompatible with American nationalism. In any case, America has been flawed from it’s founding.”

On July 31, 2018, Newman posted on Gab: “I am truly saddened that HAC (Harold Covington) has passed away…/ Rest in peace.”

Harold Covington was an American neo-Nazi activist, writer and founder of the Northwest Front (NF), a white separatist political movement.

Anti-Semitism

Newman reposted a September 5, 2018 post on Gab that said: “National Socialism. Biology applied to politics. We live by it and we will die by it. We will no longer be a slave to the treacherous Jew. Awaken!...”

Newman reposted an August 25, 2018 post on Gab that said: “‘We must seek vengeance upon our enemy, the Jew, for the destruction of sacred Europe and their murder of so many millions of our ethnic brothers and sisters’ -The Programme of the New Awakening…” The post included a picture of a burning Israeli flag.

Newman reposted an August 23, 2018 post on Gab that said: “The Jew wants you broke, beaten, or dead and your children raped and brainwashed, and they think it’s funny / Break the Jewish chains, join the New Awakening, fight alongside brethren in the Northwest to secure the future for our race.”

On February 22, 2018, Newman posted on Gab a quote from Mein Kampf, Hitler’s autobiographical manifesto: “‘Culturally, he [the Jew] contaminates art, literature, the theater, makes a mockery ofnatural feeling, overthrows all concepts of beauty and sublimity, of the nobleand the good, and instead drags men down into the sphere of his own basenature. ’ - Adolf Hitler.”

Newman reposted a December 29, 2017 post on Gab that said: “Defence against the Jew is not only a necessity, but our duty.” The post included a picture of a knight with a Nazi swastika pointing his sword at the “Happy Merchant” with text that said: “Show no mercy to the Jew!”

The Happy Merchant is an anti-Semitic cartoon caricature of a Jew with a black beard, long hooked nose, a hunched back, crooked teeth and wrung hands. The cartoon is often used in memes by white supremacists to spread conspiracy theories and harass Jews online.

On December 21, 2017, Newman posted on Gab an image with text that read: “‘The JEWS are the master ROBBERS of the modern age.’ - NAPOLEON BONAPARTE…”
