Emma Pinsky
Overview
Emma Pinsky [Emmett Pinsky] has spread hatred of Israel as an affiliate of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Tufts (Tufts SJP).As of March 2018, as stated on Facebook, Pinsky was majoring in American Studies at Tufts. Also according to Facebook, Pinsky worked at the Crossroads Trading Company.
As of February 2018, Pinsky was listed on the Tufts Student Life website as an editor for the Tufts Observer and the Tufts Public Journal.
Spreading Hatred of Israel
On August 29, 2017, Pinsky and two other Tufts students organized the production of an online publication called the “Tufts Disorientation Guide 2017.”The Disorientation Guide accused (p.15) Israel of being a “white supremacist state” and accused Tufts Hillel of supporting white supremacy. It also claimed that Tufts Hillel attempted to “exploit black voices for their own pro-Israel agenda” by hosting the parents of slain black teenager Trayvon Martin to speak about gun violence.
Tufts officials later reportedly removed the Tufts Disorientation Guide 2017 from two official Class Facebook pages, where it appeared “without authorization.”
In a September 10, 2017 article, Pinsky was quoted saying that “Israel is certainly implicated in systems of white supremacy.”
Pinksy also stated that “The fact that many white Jewish people feel favorably toward the Jewish state and the occupation of Palestine comes from a desire to preserve whiteness in the way it is unfolding in Israel and Palestine.”
On September 14, 2017, Pinsky tweeted: “saying ‘there are Jews of color in Israel it can't b white supremacist!’ Sound like ppl who say ‘but there r black ppl/women in congress!’”
Pinsky has also retweeted a September 20, 2017 tweet that called for “the end of American Jewish institutional support for the Occupation and white supremacy.”
SJP Activism
Pinsky’s Disorientation Guide included a section that promoted (p.13) Tufts SJP activism, including “Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW).”The Disorientation Guide also insinuated (p.13) that Israel practices “racism” and “colonization” in a section promoting a 2014 SJP protest against Birthright Israel trips.
Birthright Israel is a heritage trip to Israel for Jewish young adults from across the world.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
