On April 24, 2023, Emanuelle Sippy was listed as an official co-signatory on a letter written by AJP members, titled: "Not in our name, not our Shabbat: the Alliance of Jewish Progressives responds to CJL’s Israel Shabbat."
The letter referred to Israel as an "apartheid state" and criticized Princeton's Center for Jewish Life (CJL) for hosting an "Israel Shabbat," which Sippy claimed crossed the line into "promoting racism or hatred."
The letter also said that people shouldn't "conflate antisemitism and anti-Zionism."
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.
On December 17, 2023, during Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, The Wall Street Journal reported that Sippy felt "uncomfortable" with some of the post-October 7, 2023 events that featured Israeli flags, which she "associates with occupation and right-wing nationalism."
On April 7, 2025, NJ Spotlight News reported that Sippy and other anti-Israel activists condemned former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett's visit to Princeton.
In her speech, Sippy said [00:03:42]: "His presence on our campus is a desecration of God's name to his enabling of apartheid, genocide...Jews at Princeton say 'Not in our name!'"
On October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 251 and wounded thousands. War crimes included various systematic sexual crimes like gang rape and genital mutilation. Men and women were violated, even after being murdered. Victims who survived that day, including hostages, endured forms of humiliation and torture.
Gazans working in the targeted Israeli villages provided intelligence to Hamas on which families to kill and torture, including long-time employers. Many Palestinian civilians joined in and celebrated the attacks. Hamas livestreamed their crimes on social media, including to victims’ accounts for families to see.
