Dimitri Love

Overview

Dimitri Love [Dimitri Alexander Love] has expressed support for violence, called for Israel’s destruction and spread hatred of Zionists and Israel. Love was affiliated with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (SJP UIUC) in November 2019.  

In February 2017, Love served as an organizer for the Black Students for Revolution (BSFR) at UIUC. 

As of January 2023, Love’s LinkedIn page said he had been working as an Assistant Archivist at UIUC’s Horticulture Field Laboratory since March 2017. 

In October 2022, Love tweeted that he began a graduate assistantship. 

In March 2022, Love indicated on Twitter that he was studying to be a teacher. In January 2022, he implied on Twitter that he had worked as a substitute teacher for the Chicago Public School System.

In May 2021, Love graduated [p. 73] with a bachelor's degree in history from UIUC.

In December 2021, Love indicated on Twitter that he was studying for a master’s degree. In March 2022, he indicated on Twitter that he was in graduate school.

As of January 2023, Love’s LinkedIn said he was located in the “Greater Chicago Area.”

Also as of January 2023, Love went by the username “🅛🅞ⓥ🅔” and used the handle “@Before1619” on Twitter. As of the same date, he used the handle “@tellyourmoms” on Instagram.

Supporting Violence

On May 24, 2021, Love tweeted: “Revolution won't happen until we welcome bloodshed & armed resistanceas deserving countermeasures to these systems that oppress us.”

On January 20, 2022, Love tweeted: “Armed resistance is a side of Black history you'll rarely learn about in these schools and it's so pivitol to our history. Imma make sure I fit it in the curriculum I teach in my classes .” 

Calling for Israel’s Destruction

On February 28, 2022, Love tweeted: “Praying my Palestinian comrades see the death of Israel while they still here .”

On May 10, 2021, Love tweeted: “The collaspe of Israel & the American empire will be a win for humanity.”

Hatred of Zionists

On October 12, 2020, Love tweeted: “I didn't know Rosa Parks was a zionist thatsdisheartning.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On November 16, 2020, Love tweeted: “I just wanna know how much money zionists are paying uiuc for them to continuously conflate anti-semitism with anti-zionism and disregard israel's inhumanities..”

On May 16, 2021, Love tweeted: “That zionist supporter should collect some morality before he collect my degree .”

Love was referring to UIUC chancellor Robert Jones, who had previously spoken out against a pro-terror [slide 10] presentation on campus titled: “Palestine & Great Return March: Palestinian Resistance to 70 Years of Israeli Terror.”

Love retweeted an April 18, 2022 tweet that said: “zionism is a completely valid reason to dismiss somebody’s entire body of work, I literally do not care what u have to say after that point.”

Hatred of Israel

On November 13, 2019, during Israel’s Operation Black Belt against Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, Love tweeted: “It's a special place in hell for folks who support Israel. Power to Palestine. #GazaUnderAttack.” 

In November 2019, Israel launched Operation Black Belt to stop rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel. From November 12 to November 14, 2019, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror group sent hundreds of rockets into Israel, targeting major civilian population centers.

On January 2, 2019, Love tweeted: “When are we gonna charge Israel with genocide and crimes against humanity?”

Love retweeted a December 9, 2017 tweet that said: “good morning to everybody except ppl who support the settler-colonial project called Israel.”

Anti-Israel Activism (SJP)

On November 15, 2019, after Israel’s Operation Black Belt against PIJ, Love featured [00:39:00] in a Facebook video posted by SJP UIUC. In the video, Love spoke [00:38:36] on behalf of BSFR and led [00:39:02] the crowd in chants of “Free, free Palestine!” 

On November 14, 2019, Love posted a photo on Instagram showing him with other UIUC students, including SJP UIUC activists, celebrating the passing of an anti-Israel student government resolution claiming that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.

The photo, along with slides and explanations of the resolution, was originally posted on October 25, 2019, by SJP Chicago. SJP Chicago defines itself as “a unified front of Chicago SJPs advancing the liberation of Palestine.”

On October 16, 2019, several Illinois Student Government (ISG) senators authored the resolution to defend a presentation by SJP UIUC leader Dunia Ghanimah. The presentation praised [slide 14] “Martyrdom” and honored [slide 10] terrorist leaders Leila Khaled and Yasser Arafat. Ghanimah, who was a Mulitcultural Advocate (MA) at UIUC, gave the presentation to other MAs, as well as to UIUC Housing employees and Resident Advisors.

SJP

SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.

The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.

SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.

SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.

SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.

Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
